MUBARAK TO ALL MUSLIMS A Glance at the Biography of Imam Reza (A. S.) Taken From: http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=1219 Imam Reza (A.S.), the eighth Shi'ite Emam was born on Thursday 11th Zee al-Qa'adah 148 A.H. /29 December 765 A.D. in Medina. The new-born child was named Ali by his holy father, Emam Musa al-Kazim (A.S.), the seventh Shi'ite Emam. He was divinely entitled al-Reza and his nickname was Abul Hasan. For many times Emam Musa Al-Kazem (A.S) explicitly introduced his eldest son "Ali" as his immediate successor to accede to the divine position of Emamat. Subsequent to the martyrdom of his father in Baghdad, on the 25th of Rajab 183 A.H. / 1 September, 799 A. D. in the prison of Abbasid caliph, Harunal_rashid, he attained the holy position of Emamat, when he was thirty five years old, and he held that divine position for twenty years. Three Abbasid caliphs were his contemporaries: for the first ten years Harun al- Rashid, for next five years Amin and finally for the last five years Ma'mun. Taken From: http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=1226 Sins He, peace be on him, said: "When the servants commit sins which they have not known before, affliction which they have not known before befalls them. Men have committed terrible kinds of sins and acts of disobedience which have not been known before. Hence Allah has let down upon them various kinds of afflictions and misfortunes which they have not known before. Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil Imam al-Rida said: "Either you enjoin (men) to do good and forbid (them) from evil or Allah will employ the wicked from among you over you, hence the righteous from among you supplicate (Him), but (He) does not respond to them. " Enjoining good and forbidding evil is an original method in Islamic life; hence neglecting it leads to bad results of which are spreading abominable things and the supplication of the righteous is not accepted. Taken From: http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=6795 It is proved by these traditions that the sawaab (reward) of Ziyarat of Imam Raza (A.S.) is more than any other Ziyarat. Specially the sawaab of Imam Husein's (A.S.) Ziyarat is very great. About it there is a separate book "NAJAATUL KHAFEKAYAN FI ZIYARATIL HUSAIN" which contains about 300 ahaadees regarding the sawaab of Ziyarat. The details regarding the time and date etc. are also mentioned therein to such an extent that some ulemaas consider this Ziyarat Waajib (compulsory).Yet I did not find any tradition that shows any Ziyarat, Sawaab of which is like sawaab of Imam Raza (A.S.)'s. Many wise people wonder how much esteem Hazrat has before God that his zawaar's sins will be forgiven even if they are more than all men and Jinns.(ALLAHUMMA SALLE ALAA MOHAMMED VA AALE MOHAMMED) 3. Hazrat Rasool-e-Khuda has said : Shortly one of my limbs will be buried in Khorasaan's soil, so if any grief-stricken performs his Ziyarat Allah will relieve his grief and also forgive all his sins. Taken From: http://www.imamreza.net/eng/imamreza.php?id=5660 He inherited the knowledge of his grandfather the Messenger of God (S.A.W.), thus becoming its pioneering fountainhead that quenched the thirst of those who were thirsty for knowledge. History narrates a great deal of his scholarly stances and intellectual discourses in which he achieved victory over those who opposed the Divine Message, excelling in various branches of scholarship with which he provided the seekers of knowledge and the thinkers of the time.
