THE PRICE FOR AL JANNAH IS DEEDS NOT WORDS

Allah speaks to us in His eternal book and the ayah says

Do you figure that you are going to have access to/enter Al Jannah and still Allah hasn't verified those of you who struggle and those of you who persevere. (Surah Aal Imran verse 142)

In another ayah Allah says- once again the ayah is saying

Do you figure that you are going to enter Al Jannah and still you haven't considered the fate of those who preceded you i.e. those who have been the victims of harsh/adverse times to such an extent that their own commitment/faith has been destabilized; their Iman was subject to a tremor of challenges/instability that made them say "when is Allah's help/victory arriving?" … (Surah Al Baqarah verse 214)

And then Allah says in respond to that

… indeed/verily Allah's help/victory is close by/very near. (Surah Al Baqarah verse 214)

Why do we say/mention things like this at a time like this? Ask yourselves! The Prophet of Allah who is Allah's beloved was exposed to hard times. He had to go through trials/adversities that made him and those who were also with him ask

.. "when is Allah's victory coming?" (Surah Al Baqarah verse 214)

If we are living the details of what is happening to ourselves in today's world many of us are asking the same question

… "when is Allah's victory coming?" (Surah Al Baqarah verse 214)

But this question doesn't count when it comes from Muslims of convenience/who are sitting on the fence and watching the developments when they themselves are not involved! When these types verbalise such a statement we shouldn't care as to their verbalisation. What concerns us is when the Muslims who are out on the frontlines begin to express such a concern at that time we should be concerned- our thoughts/feelings are with them and with Allah's grace/guidance one day we shall be there ourselves. Allah could have given immediate help/victory to His most beloved one; they didn't have to go through two to three years of starving to death outside of Makkah- he wouldn't have been exposed to all types of hardships that were placed on him and those who were with him in Makkah. Allah could have spared them all of these straining times but He didn't and this is His most beloved. What do you want? You want to be favoured more than them? That is not going to be. One of our features as committed Muslims is our conforming of/ubudiya to Allah.

I have not created the humans and the jinns except for the purpose of conforming to Allah. (Surah Adh Dhariyat verse 56)

One of the basic features of conforming to Allah is what's called at takleef. Allah's given you responsibilities and in order for you to carry these responsibilities you/I/the rest of the Muslims are outside in the real world with their Iman/relationship to Allah/anticipation of Allah's involvement. This responsibility brings out the true Muslim from the fraudulent Muslim otherwise anyone could be a Muslim! You just utter a sentence or two and then go through some customary/inherited motions of salaah/Hajj and the rest of these personal obligations and defacto you're a Muslim/committed Muslim! But that was not the way it was meant to be. There has to be a verification process. Allah has to verify who is real/serious/has taken this surrender to His will to heart and to hand from those who bounce these words off their tongues/lips. There's a difference here and this difference is the one we are concerned with. That is why Allah is telling us here

Do you figure/assume that you are going to enter Al Jannah and Allah has yet to verify those of you who struggle and those of you who persevere. (Surah Aal Imran verse 142)

That will not be the case.

Where are the Muslims struggling and persevering? The areas of the world in which this has become a feature are increasing. It happens to be, (in our time), where Muslims are persevering giving it there all is in Chechenya. In the past twenty-four hours the Russian military has attacked Grozny more than one-hundred-and-sixty times dropping bombs over the tens of thousands of Muslims who are still in that city. In the past weeks/months, (especially in the past couple of weeks), the Russian military has been arresting any Muslim man who is between the age of ten to sixty years old. We don't have a short memory; we happen to have a memory that can compare what they are doing today to what the Muslims were doing fifteen and twenty years ago in Iran. Remember when there were teenagers going to the warfront? We're talking about 14/15/16 year olds. Then they made a humanitarian affair out of this. "How come/how is it/how dare a government permit teenagers to go to war?!" Then they deem that all around and they played it up in their media ad nauseam and today the Russians are arresting children 10/11/12 years old and old men in their fifties up until sixty years of age. Where are these "humanitarians" around? Has anyone heard one word of criticism going at the Russians because they are arresting children who are ten years old? To this fact they appear to be deaf/dumb/blind. What's the difference the difference is when Muslims want to defend themselves and live with their full God-given right they are condemned especially when they want to do it at an early age because if Muslims begin doing this when they are young they are going to develop a culture of resistance and these evil enemies of ours don't want us to develop a culture of resistance/war. They try to undermine that by presenting it as a human rights issue i.e. "teenagers shouldn't go to war." But now when the Russians themselves suspect 10/11/12/13 year old Muslims and then take them as prisoners of war these same sources/people who a few years ago made a big issue about the Muslims who were fighting to defend themselves today are not making an issue of the Russians who are killing Muslims (and) denying them defence of themselves! What hurts is the fact that this type of information does not circulate among the Muslims. We can expect the Mushriks/Kafirs to do what they are doing because they are living up to their wicked nature but how come some of these people who are occupying Masjids/Mimbars and Makkah don't make this public/common knowledge/information?! This is where we have to begin to realise that there is  one type of Muslims and then there is another type of Muslim. (We know it is cold out here. It's alright. Bare with us just a few more minutes). The Prophet of Allah said, (in a hadith that is acknowledged by anyone who reads hadith literature), no one is committed meaning no one is a committed Muslim/Mu'min who spends his night on a full stomach and his neighbour next to him spends his night on an empty stomach while the one with the full stomach knows that he has a full stomach and his neighbour has an empty stomach i.e. both of them go to bed that night and he is aware of it. Do you/I/we know of these types of Muslims who are around? If we do, why can't we present them with this hadith of Allah's Prophet and have them explain themselves to Allah and to the community of Mu'min. Let's see what their explanations is going to be. Being related to Allah is not a one-on-one relationship. This is the secular kafir mindset that comes and tells a Muslim "hey religion is a relationship between God and you. What does it have to do with you and another human being? We don't know that. Allah is between me and Him; Allah is between me and you and between all of us. This is the Allah who we know, but because the Muslims have insisted this throughout all of the years now we have those who were telling us just twenty-thirty years ago "Islam /religion is a personal relationship between you and God" we have these same people who are running for President of the United States trying to identify with Jesus! It's not because there is some type of grass-root honest to God movement in the land- there's no such thing. They are more materialistic than they ever were but it is a reaction. (Can't) you see- Muslims: because our Masjids have been condemned by the nature of the people who occupy them we can't even tell the reverberations of our determination in the past twenty years around the world? That is why a person like the Vice-President in his electioneering/campaigning comes and "he will have the influence of people of faith within his administration and decision making processes." That is why you have one of the candidates who was asked "who is the most important person in your life?" And he says "Jesus." That is why you have overtures from the person who is in the White House today to Christianity/religion- the adulterer that he is clenching a bible! Entering in front of the cameras into Church on Sunday and leaving- all of this is not because they are fermenting with Christianity/a religious fervour. No! It's because they are reacting to the fact that the Muslims are fermenting with their commitment to Allah around the world. The Prophet of Allah says creation is all Allah's" dependant," (or as others would say), Allah's "family" and Allah loves from among them those who are of most use to his family/dependants. This is the relationship that we understand ourselves to be within/that we have with Allah that will bring out those Muslims who are sincere to Him from those who want to take an easy ride through the years of their lives. We have developing in the Muslim world today a resistance to injustice/tyranny/dhulm/oppression. These are the people who will open the doors of tomorrow for the coming generation of Muslims. The United States government has devised some plan to take an immediate military action/response in at least in two or three parts of the Muslim world, Algeria and Afghanistan, (among other places), when they interpret an act committed against them to reach the level of terror. They're also working on a policy in which they are trying to democratise Indonesia/Nigeria, (among other places in the world), but these two particular places in the Muslim world because they figure these are to the extreme East and to the extreme West of the Ummah where the contagent of Islamic fundamentalism hasn't taken sufficient root yet. They can do whatever they want in their Shaytaani plan; in the meantime this culture of resistance/self-determination/actualisation of the thoughts/feelings in our hearts and minds will continue and our presence here is a humble contribution in that process.

Committed brothers and sisters…

Parallel to these concerns that were just stated we have in town/Washington DC a delegation of the Palestinian Authority. At the same time in the Persian Gulf, in Kuwait in particular, we have a delegation from this country ex-President George Bush, his National Security Advisor at the time and before him Secretary of Defence and others who are trafficking in that area for no good reason. Muslims have the right now these "dignitaries", (as they describe themselves), come to town and barely anyone wants to cover it. (That's) not because the American who drinks his six pack of beer at the end of the week watching his sport knows anything about what's going on but because there's an Islamic public opinion that they have to factor in when they present information to the larger public. They don't want to tell you/me and the rest of the Muslims what's going on. They want to try and sign so called agreements in a hush-hush way. Has anyone of you heard that in the month of Ramadhan in Syria five-hundred committed Muslims were rounded up and thrown into jail? They were accused of being either drug traffickers, (listen to this), accusing committed Muslims in the atmosphere of the time that we are in… Remember what is going on here in Washington- none of this is happening in a vacuum. More than five-hundred Muslims were rounded up in the month of Ramadhan (and) the accusation was "you are a drug trafficker/trading in arms/you belong to the President's brother's opposition." Like criminals everywhere, when families rule the family itself begins to break up because each member wants more than the other and Muslims don't cavort with these types of families. Muslims don't smuggle/trade in arms and Muslims are not drug traders. These are lies that are used to facilitate what is happening here in Washington. We can see it here and there. The days have gone when the Muslims can no longer make the link between the superiors and their clients in Washington and their extended administrations/policies in the heartland of Islam. What do they want to prove? Their fidelity to Yahud? i.e. We are serious about a peace process- look at us- we've taken action against Muslims in Syria, we're taking actions against Muslims in Lebanon and this is the beginning of the process. This is how we are proving that we are serious now prove that you are serious! The way Yahud and their Munafiq allies prove their seriousness to each other is by rounding up and killing this new generation of Islam.

This khutbah was presented by Imam Mohamed Asi on the occasion of Jum'ah on 21 January 2000 on the sidewalk of Embassy Road in Washington D.C. The Imam previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. This khutbah originates from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige.
