We are fighting with terrorism for the last 1370 Years  Today is the first Muharram 1431 Hijri (19th December 2009). Moharram is the first month, according to the Islamic calendar. In this month of Moharram, a bloody game of terrorism & cruelty was played 1370 years ago in Karbala (Iraq),between grand son of Holy prophet (s.a.w) and tyrant ruler of Yemen yazid. Yazid had killed Hazrat Imam Husain (a.s) maternal grand son of Prophet Mohammad along with the other 72 relatives. It was done 1369 years ago in the Karbla ground on the bank of river Furaat.Islamic world  start this new year of Moharram month not as a celebration but as mourning. All the people from the Islamic world give a sorrowful tribute to martyr of Karbala, Hazrat Imam Husain & at the same time they condemn the Syrian king Yazid. Whosoever kills a human being for other than manslaughter or mischief in the land,it shall be as if he has killed all humankind, and whosoever saves the life of one,it shall be as if he has saved the life of all humankind. (Holy Quran .Chapter 5, Verse 32) So karbala was the The Fight Against Oppression! it was the The Fight Against Terriorism! Mirza Muhammad Athar who recite Majalis every year from 1st muharram to 10 Muharram every year said: The issue of terrorism has an inextricable relationship with the events of Muharram, for the martyrdom of our heroes at Karbala in the month of Muharram was a result of terrorism. This incident highlights what religion is and what politics is. Had these heroes not been martyred we would have been left without the light to understand the truth. It is this incident that has provided us proper guidance to understand what true Islam or true religion is, and to appreciate the teachings of religion and the principles of politics. In actual fact, Islam's message is for all human beings. It is not restricted by sect, region, ethnicity, language, race or color. However, people have not understood it properly. They have not seen its true face. Instead, for the last several hundred years, people have seen a sort of 'Islam' through the lens of monarchy (mulukiyat), and so they have not been able to see its reality. Hence, my focus will be on the true Islam, the Islam that is so compatible with human nature and life, and on how, over the last fourteen hundred years Islam has been grossly misused for political purposes. We must identify and recognize the faces of those who have misused Islam for their political ends. It was this that led to the oppression, and, finally, the martyrdom of Imam Husain in Karbala in the month of Muharram.
