Initial report of Karachi tragedy presented to CCPO

KARACHI: The initial report of damages happened as aftermath of attack on Youm-e-Ashura procession and setting ablaze markets by unknown persons and arrests has been presented to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO). DIG South Ghulam Nabi Memon presented the report to CCPO Karchi Wasim Ahmad.
According to details, 119 people were injured and 44 killed in the incident. Unknown persons torched 50 shops and 30 vehicles whereas two private banks, two ATM machines and five government vehicles including a police mobile set ablaze.
More than 30 people arrested with the help of close circuit camera and cases of violence and damaging property have been registered against them. The report did not mention the nature of the blast whether it was a suicide attack or a car bomb.
Four persons arrested for violence charges have been presented in the court. The court has handed over Asim Ali, Rehan Hussain, Lehaz Hussain and Qarar Hussain on remand till January 6.
