KABUL, Jan. 19 - A martyr group of the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate on Monday at 9:45 am carried out a series of small and heavy arm attacks, martyrdom operations and guerrilla attacks on the Presidential Palace and surrounding key government buildings including Ministry of
mines and energy, Ministries of justice, finance and judiciary , Afghanistan Bank and Sarena Hotel in the heavily secured Kabul city at the heart of the country.
The battle broke out by carrying out a martyrdom operation by Humayun opposite Pashtunistan square, a traffic circle, killing and wounding tens of the security guards in front of the Presidential Palace followed by a group attack consisting of 5 Mujahideen headed by Mula Muhammad carried out on a building related to the Ministry of communication adjacent to Sarena Hotel, where the Mujahideen gained the control of the building after killing the guards and from where the team of five started targeting the Ministries of mines, justice finance and other departments and buildings including Afghanistan Bank and Sarena Hotel.
Meanwhile, a group of 4 Mujahideen headed by Mulah Musa positioned themselves near the Cinema Aryana from where they began firing at the stated ministries and buildings.
After the first two groups, a third group headed by Mula Saifullah positioned themselves and started targeting the certain Ministries and buildings.
Thirty minutes later, a brave Mujahid, Haiji Masood carried out a car bomb attack by slamming his explosive-filled ambulance into base of the forces in Malik Azghar roundabout who were about to come to the war zone, killing a number of high ranking officers and personal.
Then another attack was carried out on the Cinema Pameer road on the security convoy of military vehicles that en route to the battle ground.
At last, more than 31 soldiers of the Afghan puppet army and National police were killed in the surrounding areas of Presidential Palace and 22 soldiers sustained loss of life and injuries in the car bomb attack carried out in Malik Azghar traffic circle and a dozen of government-related vehicles parked near about were damaged during the operations.
It is, however, worth mentioning a number of the markets shopping centers damaged and the Qari Aman shopping center was set ablaze in the blind firing from the enemy soldiers who were in terror and shock during the operations.
Among 20 brave Mujahideen, 7 brave and heroic figures including Hafiz Humayun, Mulah Muhammad, Mula Musa, Hafiz Ali, Saifullah and Nijat gave their lives for Allah Almighty and embraced martyrdom in today's operations.
The rest of 13 brave Mujahideen, by the virtue of Allah's bounty and His mercy returned unhurt and are waiting to be assigned other missions.
However, according to some of the statesmen, strategists and others, today's operations have been regarded the most successful, strategic, timely and important ones.
The Ministry of Defense has, too, confirmed the death of the its 27 soldiers.
Not to be left unsaid that the enemy has always concealed the actual casualty figures and reduced the loss of life, that is, they have confirmed far too fewer than the real death toll or the denied any casualties.
