A large, devastating earthquake measuring 7.0 struck Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince, on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. The death toll has been reported in the tens of thousands. Due to the vast amount of destruction, thousands of people are trapped. Destroyed roads and rubble are making it difficult to access all the affected areas.
Hidaya Foundation (www.hidaya.org) plans to support the survivors to rebuild. Hidaya is requesting Sadaqah (Charity) or the relief work.
