Then non believers will respect you and provide you the first preference in each and every field. This is the practical done by me. This is the solution of our problems. If you do not have this power, think evils as hateful things and this is the least level of our Imaan. Now check your Imaan when we are engaged with songs and dances on TV (which is totally haraam). | And 10% Reservations for the Muslim Community in West Bengal, Now. The Andhra Pradesh High Court struck down the 4% reservations in favour of the Muslim Community on 8th February 2010 and the Government of West Bengal made 10% reservations for the Muslims the next day. And a word of approval and appreciation from some quarters in the Community was disgusting and highly irresponsible. It is like saying you scratch my back and I scratch yours and the game goes on. The politics of reservations was brought on the Congress party agenda during the tenure of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, which marked a major shift in the Congress policy to appease the Muslim Community. This followed by pronouncements after pronouncements clamoring reservations for the Muslim Community by the Congress and the secular parties from different States but every time the Courts came in the way and thwarted all attempts of reservations on the ground that the Constitution of India debars reservations on grounds of religion (as if scheduled castes and backward tribes are not religion based). What is surprising is that none of the so-called secular parties have come out with the idea of amending the Constitution to remove the lacuna. However, the realization has come to the Community and they asked for amending the Constitution at a meeting of the National Movement for Muslim Reservation held on 4th Feb. Had the secular parties, more importantly the Congress come out with an amendment, it would have a different effect and message altogether. Mr. M.J Akbar (TOI) has recently advocated such a change. . Lack of initiative by the Congress and others does not augur well for them and does not leave a good taste behind for obvious understandable reasons. Seen in this perspective, the sinister move of the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University to establish its AMU campuses in different parts of the country appears to be an unadulterated exercise in political gimmickry with the connivance of the Congress party. In the process, residential and minority character of the University, the Act and Statutes were swept under the carpet. The fact of the matter is that neither the University nor the Government is legally empowered to establish such campuses. Mr. Salman Khursheed has made it clear time and again that the Govt. cannot establish institutions for minorities. Moreover, the University has not taken a formal decision in the matter for the obvious reason that it is not competent to take such a decision. Had the University taken such a decision, the matter would have met the same fate in the Courts as the issue of reservations. UPA Govt. should stop this fraud on the Community for electoral gain the earlier, the better. The Muslims on their part, from now onwards instead of being carried away by political slogans, platform rhetoric and pious platitudes, should exert utmost pressure on the secular parties to bring about the amendment long due.
