Virtues of Ameerul Momineen (a.s.)

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahe wa Barakatahu

Ibne Abbas says: I heard the Messenger of Allah ( s.a.w.) saying :

" During the Ascension night (me'raaj), whenever I passed by a group of angels, they asked me about Ali ibn Abi Talib so often that I started to believe that the name of Ali was more famous than mine in the skies. When I reached the fourth sky, I saw the angel of Death who asked me, " O Mohammad, how is Ali doing?" I said, " O my friend, how do you know Ali?" He said, " O Mohammad, I am responsile for taking the lives of everyone that Almighty Allah has created except for two - your life and Ali's, because Almighty Allah Hiself will take your lives by His Power ."

When I reached under the Divine Throne (Arsh), I looked up and saw Ali ibn Abi Talib standing there under my Lord's Throne. " O Ali, did you precede me to this place?" I asked.

" O Mohammad," Archangel Gabriel (Jibraeel) asked, " To whom are you speaking?"

"I am talking to my brother Ali", I replied.

Archangel Gabriel said," O Mohammad, this is not Ali himself. This is an angel that Almighty Allah has created in the form of Ali. When we, the Favourite Angels (Malaaekatul Muqarrabeen), long for seeing Ali's face, we visit this angel. This is on account of Ali ibn Abi Talib's high rank in the view of Almighty Allah. We also seek Almighty Allah's forgveness for the adherents (Shia) of Ali."
