عبیداللہ بن معاذ عنبری، ابومحمد بن عمرولیثی، عمرو بن مسلم بن عمارہ بن اکیمہ لیثی، سعید بن مسیب، حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا جس آدمی کے پاس (قربانی کا جانور) ذبح کرنے کے لئے ہو تو جب وہ ذی الحجہ کا چاند دیکھ لے تو وہ اس وقت تک اپنے بالوں اور ناخنوں کو نہ کٹوائے جب تک کہ قربانی نہ کر لے۔

اس بات کے بیان میں کہ جب ذی الحجہ کی پہلی تاریخ ہو اور آدمی کا قربانی کرنے کا ارادہ ہو تو اس کے لئے قربانی کرنے تک اپنے بالوں اور ناخنوں کا کٹوانا منع ہے ۔

Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) to have said: He who has a sacrificial animal with him whom (he intends) to offer as sacrifice, and he enters the month of Dhu'I-Hijja, he should not get his hair cut or nails trimmed until he has sacrificed the animal.
