This prayer is Sunnat during the period of occultation of the Imam-e-Zamana(a.s.).  The prayer can be prayed from sunrise until the time of descent of the Sun (zawal).  If that timing is not observed then this namaz cannot be prayed as a QAZA namaz.  Prayer (Salat al-`eid) consists of two Rak`ahs. In the first Rak`ah, one may recite Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah of al-A`la (No. 87). After the recitation of these Surahs, one may say the takber statement (i.e. allahu-akbar) five times and raise the hands for the Qunut after each takber, saying: اللÙ'هُمÙ' Ø£ÙŽÙ‡Ù'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'كِبÙ'رِيَاءِ وَالÙ'عَظَمَةِ، allahumma ahla alkibriya‘i wal-`a¨amati O Allah: You are the Lord of glory and greatness ÙˆÙŽØ£ÙŽÙ‡Ù'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'جُودِ وَالÙ'جَبَرُوتِ، wa ahla aljudi wal-jabaruti And the Lord of magnanimity and omnipotence ÙˆÙŽØ£ÙŽÙ‡Ù'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'عَفÙ'وِ وَالرÙ'Ø­Ù'مَةِ، wa ahla al-`afwi wal-rrahmati And the Lord of pardon and mercy, ÙˆÙŽØ£ÙŽÙ‡Ù'Ù„ÙŽ التÙ'Ù‚Ù'ÙˆÙŽÙ‰ وَالÙ'مَغÙ'فِرَةِ، wa ahla alttaqwa wal-maghfirati And the worthiest of being feared and the Lord of forgiveness; أَسÙ'أَلُكَ بِحَقÙ' هذَا الÙ'ÙŠÙŽÙˆÙ'مِ الÙ'ذِي جَعَلÙ'تَهُ لِلÙ'مُسÙ'لِمِينَ عِيداً، as’aluka bihaqqi hadha aliyawmi alladhy ja`altahu lilmuslimena `edan I beseech You in the name of this day, which You have decided to be feast for the Muslims, وَلِمُحَمÙ'دٍ صَلÙ'ÙŽÙ‰ اللهُ عَلَيÙ'هِ وَآلِه ذُخÙ'راً وَمَزِيداً wa limuhammadin Salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi dhukhran wa mazedan And to be safety and increasing honor for Muhammadâ€"peace of Allah be upon him and his Householdâ€" Ø£ÙŽÙ†Ù' تُصَلÙ'ÙŠÙŽ عَلَى مُحَمÙ'دٍ وَآلِ مُحَمÙ'دٍ an tuSalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin (I beseech You) that You may send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, ÙˆÙŽØ£ÙŽÙ†Ù' تُدÙ'خِلَنِي فِي كُلÙ' خَيÙ'رٍ أَدÙ'خَلÙ'تَ فِيهِ مُحَمÙ'داً وَآلَ مُحَمÙ'دٍ، wa an tudkhilany fe kulli khayrin adkhalta fehi muhammadan wa ala muhammadin And You may include me with every item of goodness with which You have included Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, ÙˆÙŽØ£ÙŽÙ†Ù' تُخÙ'رِجَنِي مِنÙ' كُلÙ'ِ سُوءٍ Ø£ÙŽØ®Ù'رَجÙ'تَ مِنÙ'هُ مُحَمÙ'داً وَآلَ مُحَمÙ'دٍ wa an tukhrijany min kulli su‘in akhrajta minhu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin And that You save me from any item of evil from which You have saved Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيÙ'هِ وَعَلَيÙ'هِمÙ'. Salawatuka `alayhi wa `alayhim May Your blessings be upon him and upon them. اللÙ'هُمÙ' إِنÙ'ÙŠ أَسÙ'أَلُكَ خَيÙ'رَ مَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادُكَ الصÙ'َالِحُونَ، allahumma inne as’aluka khayra ma sa’alaka `ibaduka alSSalihuna O Allah: I pray You for the best of all that for which Your righteous servants have prayed You, وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِمÙ'َا اسÙ'تَعَاذَ مِنÙ'هُ عِبَادُكَ الصÙ'َالِحُونَ. wa a`udhu bika mimma ista`adha minhu `ibaduka alSSalihuna And I seek Your protection against all that against which Your righteous servants have asked Your protection.  You may then say the takber for the sixth time, and do the genuflection (ruku`), and prostrate yourself (sujud). When you stand up for the second Rak`ah, recite Surah of al-Fatihah and Surah of al-Shams (No. 91) and then say the takber four times only raising the hands for the Qunut after each takber. After that, say the fifth takber and continue the prayer. After accomplishment of the prayer, say the famous Tasbeh al-Zahra' (a.s). Alternative TEXT Namaz-e-Eid is a 2 Rakat namaz recited with the intention of "Recommended " ie "SUNNAT Qurbattan ilallah".  1. In the first Rakat recite the Takbeeratul Ahraam "ALLAHU AKBAR" &  2. Then recited Sura-e-Hamd followed by Sura-e-Aala.(or Ikhlass if Ala not possible)  3. Recite "ALLAHU AKBAR" and then recite the following Dua-e-Qunoot with hands raised in the sky and the palms joint together:   O’Allah! The All-Great and All-Gloriou, and the All-Glorious and All-Glorious; the All-Forgiving and All-Merciful; the All-Protecting and All-Pardoning! I ask you by the sancity  of this day which You have made as an ‘Eid for all the Muslims and as a day of great treasure, piety and blessing for Muhammad, prayers of Allah be upon him and his family that  You shower Your prayers upon Muhammad and family of  Muhammad and you include us in all the goodness which you have included Muhammad and the family of Muhammad (to benefit from) and that you safeguard us from all those voices which you have kept away from Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, may Your prayers be upon him and all of them. O,Allah! I ask you for welfare and goodness â€" the same welfare which has been asked for by Your pious servants and I ask Your shelter from all of those things from which Your pious servants have sought shelter. ALLA HUMMA AHLAL KIBRIYAAI WAL AZAMATI WA AHLAL JOODI WAL JABAROOT WA AHLAL AFWI WAR RAHMATI WA AHLAT TAQWAA WAL MAGHFIRAH AS-ALUKA BIHAQQI HAAZAL YAWMIL LAZI JA-ALTAHU LIL MUSLIMEENA EIDAN WA LI MUHAMMADIN SALLALLAAHU ALAYHI WA AALIHEE ZUKHRAN WA SHARAFAN WA KARAMATAN WA MAZEEDAA AN TU SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIN WA AALI MUHAMMAD WA AN TUDKHILANI FEE KULLI KHAYRIN ADKHALTA FEEHI MUHAMMADAN WA AALI MUHAMMAD WA AN TUKHRIJANI MIN KULLI SOOO-IN AKHRAJTA MINHU MUHAMMADAN WA AALI MUHAMMAD SALAWAATUKA ALAYHI WA ALAYHIM ALLAAHUMMA INNEE AS-ALUKA KHAYRA MAA SA-ALUKA BIHI IBAADUKAS SAALIHOON WA A-OOZUBEKA MIMMAS TA-AAZA MINHU IBAADUKAL MUKHLISOON   اَللÙ'ـهُمÙ'ÙŽ اَهÙ'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'كِبÙ'رِياءِ وَالÙ'عَظَمَةِ، وَاَهÙ'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'جُودِ وَالÙ'جَبَرُوتِ، وَاَهÙ'Ù„ÙŽ الÙ'عَفÙ'وِ وَالرÙ'ÙŽØ­Ù'مَةِ، وَاَهÙ'Ù„ÙŽ التÙ'ÙŽÙ‚Ù'وى وَالÙ'مَغÙ'فِرَةِ، اَسÙ'اَلُكَ بِحَقÙ'ِ هذَا الÙ'يَومِ الÙ'َذي جَعَلÙ'تَهُ لِلÙ'مُسÙ'لِمينَ عيداً، وَلُِمحَمÙ'َد صَلÙ'ÙŽÙ‰ اللهُ عَلَيÙ'هِ وَآلِهِ ذُخÙ'راً وَشَرَفاً وَمَزيÙ'داً، اَنÙ' تُصَلÙ'ِيَ عَلى مُحَمÙ'َد وَآلِ مُحَمÙ'َد، وَاَنÙ' تُدÙ'خِلَني في كُلÙ'ِ خَيÙ'ر اَدÙ'خَلÙ'تَ فيهِ مُحَمÙ'َداً وَآلَ مُحَمÙ'َد، وَاَنÙ' تُخÙ'رِجَني مِنÙ' كُلÙ'ِ سُوء اَخÙ'رَجÙ'تَ مِنÙ'هُ مُحَمÙ'َداً وَآلَ مُحَمÙ'َد صَلَواتُكَ عَلَيÙ'هِ وَعَلَيÙ'هِمÙ'ØŒ اَللÙ'ـهُمÙ'ÙŽ اِنÙ'ÙŠ اَسÙ'اَلُكَ خَيÙ'رَ ما سَأَلَكَ مِنÙ'هُ عِبادُكَ الصÙ'الِحُونَ، وَاَعُوذُ بِكَ مِمÙ'َا اسÙ'تعاذَ مِنÙ'هُ عِبادُكَ الÙ'صÙ'الِحُونَ . Repeat Step 3 four more times (five times in Total) Recite Allahu Akbar ,Perform Rukuu Sajda & Stand up for second Rakat  Recite Sura Hamd followed by Sura Shams ( or Ikhlass if Shams not possible to recite) Repeat Step 3 four times in Total Recite Allahu Akbar ,Perform Rukuu Sajda & Tashahud & Salaam to complete prayer   Imam Zainul abidin (as) dua for Idd uz zuha day Recite Ziyaarat of Imam Husayn (A.S.) Recite Duaa-e-Nudbaa.   COURTESIES DURING QURBANI Of the recommended acts 1. These should be in the order of camel, cow and male sheep.2. The animal should be in sound health.  3. At the time of offering the sacrifice, say: WAJJAHTU WAJHIYA LILLAZII FATARRASSAMAWAATI WAL ARZI HANIIFAN MUSLIMAN WAMAA ANA MINAL MUSHRIKIIN INNA SALAATII WANUSKII WANAGYAAYA WANANATII LILLAHI RABBIL AALAMIN LAA SHARIIKA LAHU WABIDHALIKA UMIRTU WAANA MINAL MUSLIMIIN. ALLAHUMMA MINKA WALAKA BISMILLAHI WABILLAHI WALLAHU AKBER. ALLAHUMA TAQABBAL MINNI, ALLAHUMMA TAQABBAL MINNII KAMA TAQABALTA AN EBRAHIMA KHALIILIKA WA MUSA KALIIMIKA WA MUHAMMADIN HABIIBIKA SALLALLAHU ALIHI WAALIHI WAALAIHIM. I turn my attention towards the One who has created the heavens and the earth as a true believer and a Muslim; and I am not among the polytheists, My prayer, hady, life and death are for Allah, the Sustainer of the worlds. He has no partner and so have I been ordered and I am of those who have submitted to You. O Allah all this is from and for You. I commence in the Name of Allah and Allah is great. O Allah! accept my devotions). 4. The animal be slaughtered by the pilgrim himself but if he cannot, he should hold the knife in his hand and the person slaughtering the animal should hold the hand of the pilgrim; there is no objection to the pilgrim holding the hand of the person slaughtering the animal.
