Ahle Bait (a.s.) in the Court of Yazid

Ahle Bait (a.s.) in the Court of Yazid

One of the tortures of Syria as written by the author of Lohuf is about the prison in which Ahle Bait were imprisoned for approximately a year. The faces of the inmates were charred due to the scorching sunlight and the color of the skin was changed. And once after release from the imprisonment, when Imam Zainul Abedeen (a.s.) saw his aunt praying while sitting, he asked with surprise, "O Aunt you were not performing even optional prayers in sitting position, while today you are performing obligation prayers in this posture. "Tears came in the eyes of Janabe Zainab (a.s.), she said "While in prison, the food and water were supplied in such a meager quantity that I used to pass on my share of food and water to the children. Due to continuous starvation I have become so weak that I could not pray by standing straight." It is mentioned in some of the books that when they reached near the town of Balbak , the ruler of the city was informed. He sent his men for according wel come to the army of Yazid. When the welcome party after seeing the caravan of orphans and Ahle Bait (a.s.) six Farsakh away from the town, started celebrating the welcome of army persons of Yazid. When Imam Zainul Abedeen (a.s.) saw there was celebration, he recited the verse which meant: "The afflictions and agonies of the time does not reduce. How long will we be plunged into turmoils? We are driven on unsaddled camels,-As if we are prisoners of Rome." Read more

Justice of Allah (Adl)

Question: Why do some people have defects from birth? If Allah is Just, then why has He created these people defective and imperfect by which they have to undergo problems and difficulties throughout their lives and are made targets of taunts, degradation and disgrace? Answer: Firstly, it is possible that these defects and tribulations are means of examination by Allah for those defective people or their parents, relatives and friends. Secondly, Allah warns and cautions the people through these difficulties so that He awakens the people from the sleep of negligence and makes them attentive towards Himself. In this way, a link is formed between the Creator and His servants which is a great bounty. Read more

Fulfilling the needs of others

mam Mohammed Baqer (a.s.) said: "The most beloved action in front of Allah is to please the servant of Allah, feeding him and paying off his debts." Imam Moosa Kazim (a.s.) said, "There are some special servants of Allah, the All-knowing, who keep fulfilling the needs of other people. They will be saved from the difficulties of the Day of Judgement. If, someone pleases a believing servant, Allah the All-knowing will make his heart happy on the day of Judgement. (Usul-e-Kafi, vol. 2, Chapter of fulfilling the needs of a believer). Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) has narrated: "If a believer narrates his needs to his brother-in-faith, and the latter despite being capable of doing so, does not help the former, then Allah will bring him on the Day of Judgement with his hands and feet tied." (Behaarul Anwaar, Vol. 74) Read more

Excellences and Virtues of the Companions of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)

Imam Sadiq (a.s.) describes the companions of Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance): One among you will awaken and find below his head a book wherein is written: 'A reasonable obedience'.(Isbaatul Hodaat, vol. 3, p. 582; Noorus saqalain, vol. 3, p. 616; Muntakhbul Asar, p. 440; Kamaaluddin, vol. 2, p. 654) This means their obedience will be common knowledge among the people. Mention of this fact is found in Surah Noor of the Quran in verse 53: And they swear by Allah with the most energetic of their oaths that if you command them, they would certainly go forth. Say: Swear not; a reasonable obedience (is desired); surely Allah is aware of what you do. A tradition of Imam Sadiq (a.s.) has been mentioned under the exegeses of these verses: And regarding this saying of Allah: 'Until they see what they have been promised' — is regarding the coming of Qaem (a.s.) The narrator then questioned regarding the saying of Allah: 'And Allah increases the guidance of the guided ones'.? He (a.s.) replied:? Their guidance will be increased on that day, when they will be guided on their firm belief of Qaem (a.s.) neither disputing with him nor denying him. Read more
