قتیبہ ، لیث، معاویة بن صالح، حضرت عبداللہ بن ابی قیس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے وتر کے متعلق پوچھا کہ کس وقت پڑھا کرتے تھے۔ شروع رات میں یا آخر میں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ دونوں وقتوں میں پڑھا کرتے تھے کبھی رات کے شروع میں اور کبھی رات کے آخر میں۔ میں نے کہا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ یعنی تمام تعریفیں اسی کے لئے ہیں جس نے دین میں وسعت رکھی ہے پھر میں نے پوچھا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرات کی کیفیت کیا ہوتی تھی یعنی زور سے پڑھتے یا آہستہ پڑھتے یعنی دل میں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا دونوں طرح پڑھتے تھے۔ کبھی زور سے پڑھتے اور کبھی دل ہی میں۔ میں نے کہا تمام تعریفیں اسی اللہ کے لئے ہیں جس نے دین میں وسعت رکھی۔ پھر میں نے پوچھا کہ اگر حالت جنابت میں ہوتے تو کیا سونے سے پہلے غسل کرتے یا نیند سے بیدار ہونے کے بعد غسل کرتے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا دونوں طرح کیا کرتے تھے۔ کبھی غسل کر کے سوتے اور کبھی وضو کر کے ہی سو جاتے۔ میں نے کہا تمام تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لئے ہیں جس نے دین میں وسعت رکھی۔ یہ حدیث اس سند سے حسن غریب ہے۔

باب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی قرائت کے متعلق
Abdullah ibn Abu Qays reported that he asked Sayyidah Aisha (RA) about the Witr Salah of the Prophet (SAW). "How he offered the Witr, in the first part of the night or the last part of it? She said, "He offered at each of these hours, sometimes he prayed the witr in the beginning of the night and sometimes at the end of it." Abdullah said, "All praise belongs to Allah who allowed latitude in religion." He asked, "How was his recital? Did he recite softly or audibly?" She said, "He observed each of those. Sometimes he recited in a low voice and sometimes in a loud voice." He said, "All praise belongs to Allah who allowed latitude in religion." He then asked, "How did he act when defiled? Did he havbe a bath before he went to sleep or did he sleep before having a bath? She said, "He did each of these things. Sometimes he had a bath and then slept and sometimes he made ablution and slept." He said, All praise belongs to Allah who allowed latitude in religion."
