| SALAFI MASJID & SCHOOL FUND RAISING APPEAL
(BRADFORD, UK)
Alhamdulillah, we have secured a building for the purpose of providing the
community in Bradford with a Masjid and School. We require 290,000 pounds
in donations and/or loans in order to purchase the premises outright. We
sincerely request from you to work tirelessly for this endeavour in order
to strengthen and cultivate the community upon the Quran and Sunnah.
We require IMMEDIATE ACTION on behalf of ALL as we have until this
Thursday (1st July 2010) to determine whether we have enough funds to
put down a deposit. We must grasp this opportunity that Allaah
Azawajjal has put before us and take this community forward. Donations
(regardless of how large or small) can be made IMMEDIATELY in cash/debit

highly concentrated number of Muslims in the UK. The building that we have
secured is absolutely amazing. We are confident that the success of this
project will change and revolutionise Bradford forever (Insha'Allah) and
open up a new city for the people to move into.
The target is so easily achievable but it requires the help of everyone of
you. Aid in the path of Allah and He will aid you. Please remember that
every single person who makes a prostration in that masjid or every child
that memorises an ayat of the Qur'an then you will get a portion of that
reward Insha'Allah.

| Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullaahi Wa Barakatuhu,
We know the great reward that Allaah has stipulated for the one who gives
in His way. What greater reward than helping and aiding the community by
setting up a Masjid and School in Bradford. By the blessing of Allaah, we
have found a fantastic building in a great location, however, funds are
needed in order for this project to become a reality.
The target of 290,000 pounds although is a large amount of money, it is
certainly not impossible or unachievable. Having already raised close to
110,000 pounds, this a humble request and plea to the sisters everywhere to
come forward and aid the call to the Qur'aan and Sunnah.
In times such as these there is a great need for us and our children to
have facilities where the pure Islam is taught and sisterhood is encouraged
and spread. A place where our children can learn and memorise the Qur'an,
also learning about the world around them. A place where we can all gather
to seek knowledge including Arabic and Tajweed, in order to better
ourselves and our households.
We all know about the great reward for the one who helps with the
establishment of places of worship where Allaah is worshipped in the way
that He is pleased with. Indeed giving a small amount of money for the
masjid will be something that will remain with you by way of reward even
after your death.
In the past women have given their wealth, sold their gold and asked their
friends and family to help raise money. Without such enthusiasm and
sacrifice, you would not find such places in other cities, and indeed
ability is from Allah. Indeed the sisters have stood up strong side by side
and helped to make such things possible. We now have a need for this in
Bradford. So we ask all the sisters to give in the way of Allaah and make
this possible.
The sisters in Bradford are committed to work together in the establishment
of the forthcoming school InshaAllah.
Indeed aid is from Allaah. May Allaah reward you all.

I would like to add support to the appeal of our respected brothers and sisters in Bradford and encourage everyone to help in creating a stronger da'wah to the Sunnah in this city which has a huge Muslim population and has great potential. This would involve a huge amount of recurring reward for whoever spends from his or her wealth for the sake of Allaah.
The da'wah has been running here for about 7-8 years and in that time the brothers - who are resourceful, hard-working, and productive maashaa'Allaah, may Allaah reward them - have managed to set up a bookstore and a centre where study circles, Arabic lessons, Tajweed lessons, and teaching of children takes place. Shaykh Falah Isma'eel (hafidhahullaah) has visited here a few times to give lectures, and all the du'at from around the country attend the seminars and conferences throughout the year.The basic books of aqidah and tawhid - from the explanations of the Scholars - have been taught here over those years and recently the attendance maashaa'allaah has increased significantly.
If these premises can be acquired, there will be a huge benefit not just for Bradford but also for the surrounding areas and communities, and it will help to create a larger and tighter community that is brought together through the proposed masjid and school. In fact, I believe that the da'wah would benefit nationally, if it can be bolstered and strengthened in Bradford, for the reason that it is a major city and there is simply a huge potential here as well as the surrounding areas which also have significant Muslim populations.
If we just had 200 people each contributing a thousand pounds by asking 10 people from their family relatives, friends and local businesses to contribute a hundred pounds each, this goal can be easily reached, with Allaah's aid, within 2 weeks.
So I would like to encourage everyone to try their hardest to make this project a success and to anticipate their reward from Allaah, the Most High.

We would just like to update everyone on our situation:
Collected so far: 120, 339 UKP
Amount to go: 169, 661 UKP
Now we have until this Thursday 7pm to decide whether we will pursue our offer for this building or not. If we do agree to pursue it, we will have to put a deposit down of approx. 28,000 - 35,000 pounds (non-refundable). As you can appreciate, this is a large amount of money and we would not want to put a deposit down unless we have reached a satisfactory target of atleast 150,000 pounds. This will then mean we would have about 6 weeks to collect the remaining 140,000.
So our humble plea to everyone to please try and collect as much money as you can. At the moment we have 73,200 in loans and 47,139 in donations. We wish to stress that we would prefer donations. We ask Allah to make this project a success. We can only take the means for indeed success is from Allah.

1. We have submitted our offer for the premises via our solicitors and are awaiting a response.
2. The brothers at Albaseerah have an important meeting scheduled for Tuesday and more information will be provided regarding project developments and decisions.
We wish to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has donated money to the project. The response has been absolutely unbelievable and has really emphasised how the community is indeed one body. May Allah reward all of you with a great reward and make this deed heavy on your scales on yawmul-Qiyaamah.
A reminder that although we set a personal milestone of 150k by Thursday 1st July (yesterday), this does not mean that we are not accepting further donations. Rather we are still in need of 154,913 pounds so please continue to ask family and friends for donations. We still have a very long way to go but the initial response has been nothing short of breathtaking.

1. We have just been informed that the agent has accepted our offer for the building. We are now awaiting a final decision and confirmation from the building owners. We should have an answer within a week.
2. The meeting by the brothers at Albaseerah took place last Tuesday. Various fund-raising strategies, long term plans and requirements from within the Bradford community were discussed. We also set some milestones which we will outline to you once our offer has been confirmed.
3. We raised approx. 1500 pounds this Tuesday during the cupping session and lecture with Abdulillah.
4. A sisters bazaar has been organised this Sunday with all proceeds going towards the masjid fundraiser project. We encourage everyone to come along and support the cause.
5. We have been informed that many brothers and sisters from around the country have done local events to raise money for the masjid. We sincerely thank you and ask Allah to accept it from you. Keep it up!
REQUEST:
We are still in urgent need of donations. So we encourage and make a plea to everyone to ask family and friends, organise local events etc. to raise money. At the moment from the 142,133 that we have raised, 68,933 is donations and 73,200 is loans. From our own experiences and learning from similar projects in other communities we do not want to be in a situation where the loan ratio is too big. This would cause us long term difficulties and we want to avoid this at all cost. So we encourage donations over loans.

We have been informed that our offer has been accepted by the owners of the building Alhamdulillah. This is extremely pleasing news for all of those who have worked very hard to make this project a reality. It is with this information that we now wish to begin PHASE 2 of this project:
The following are a few facts that we feel everyone should be aware of:
- Within 24 days (Sunday 15th August) from today we must have all the money in our bank to provide proof to the third party.
- Shortly after this date we will need to put down a 10-20% (29,000 to 58,000 pounds) deposit which is non-refundable.
- The expected completion date would be September 2010 InshaAllah.
With this information, the Brothers in Bradford have collectively agreed that out of the total building purchase cost (290,000 pounds), a minimum of 50% of this figure must be financed through donations as to make the loan-paybacks achievable in the deadlines agreed.
To clarify this, we need at least 70,639.11 pounds of donations within the next 24 days. The fact that the global community helped raise 74,360.89 pounds in under 3 weeks does not make this an impossible task at all, inshaAllaah. But we really need every person, every family,and every community to really help us to make this a reality.
Our brothers and sisters in Manchester only recently raised around 3K in donations through a variety of fund-raising methods. The Sisters in Bradford also came together and raised over 4K, through various fund raising activities. Not only do we take this opportunity to thank them all for this, but we want to use these examples as an encouragement to other communities.
The success of the Dawah in Bradford is indeed the success of the Dawah in the whole country, if not the world. Whoever lives in the UK then they will undoubtedly know that Bradford is world famous for the high density of Muslims living here and furthermore offers a fantastic community feel. So we really do feel that for those who desire a more affordable, quiet, less busy city for themselves and their children then Bradford would be an ideal choice. Since our project launch we are already aware of approx. 4 families who are moving here, including some from outside the UK.
So we ask our Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Daughters and Sons across the world to help us make this city an even better place to live by aiding us in establishing a Masjid and School that will help nurture the current and future generations. Be part of something special and aid in establishing the Religion of your Creator Allaah (To whom belongs all Praise) in the city of Bradford, UK.
Our community here has tried its very best to learn from common mistakes from other communities so the steps and decisions we are taking are in light of the various lessons learned and the experiences gained.
Adding to what Abu Iyaad Amjad mentioned previously, if only 100 people made a personal goal of raising 2K each we would have all the money needed for this building. It just requires effort, asking every friend, colleague, family member and utilising all fund raising ideas.
We wish to remind everyone once again that this building is truly unique MashaýAllah and is ideal for the needs of the community. We also end by reminding you that every person who makes that prostration to Allah, 5 times a day, 365 days a year, a hundred years from now then by the permission of Allah you will get a reward of that. The nobility of such actions is clear to us from the Quran and Sunnah, its just the reminder that we are in need of.
