Subject: Fw: Quran and Hadith on Imam of Time

In The Name Of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

Holy Quran (Surah Bani Israel; 17:71): (Remember) the day when We will call every people with their Imam; then whoever is given his book in his right hand, these shall read their book; and they shall not be dealt with a whit unjustly.

Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s) said: Whosoever dies without recognizing the Imam of his time dies the death of the ignorance (Jahiliyyah). [I.Ahmad b. Hanbal, al-Musnad, p. 96.]

Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 9329: I heard the Prophet saying, "There will be twelve imams." He then said a sentence which I did not hear. My father said, "All of them (those rulers) will be from Quraish."

Sahih Muslim, Hadith 4483 : The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled by twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraysh.

Holy Quran (Surah Yunus; 10:20): And they say, 'Why is not a sign sent to him from his Lord? Say, 'The unseen is only for Allah, therefore wait; surely I too am with those who await."

Holy Quran (Surah An'aam; 6:158): On the day when some of the signs of your Lord shall come, its faith shall not profit a soul, which did not believe before, or earn good through its faith. Say: Wait; we too are waiting.

Holy Quran (Surah Baqarah; 2:2-3): (Quran is) a guidance for the pious those who believe in the Unseen (Ghaib)."  Then the Holy Quran declares, in Surah Maidah, 5:56 : These (belong to) the party of Allah. Know that surely Allah's party, they are the victorious ones."

Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.s) said: "It is probable that I will be called soon, and I will respond.  So I leave behind me two weighty (very worthy and important) things: the Book of Allah (the Qur'an), which is a string stretched from the heaven to the earth; and my progeny, my ahl al-bayt.  Verily Allah, the Merciful, the Aware, has informed me that these two will never be separated from each other until they meet me at the Fountain of Abundance (the Hawdh of Kawthar, a spring in heaven).  Therefore, be careful how you treat these two in my absence." [This hadith has been narrated by more than twenty companions of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s) and has also been narrated by over 185 narrators mentioned in Sahih Muslim, 2:238; Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, 5:181-182; Sahih Tirmidhi, 2:220, and others.]

Holy Quran (Surah Ahzab; 33:33): Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House (Ahl-ul-Bait) and to make You pure and spotless.

Imam Shafe'i's humble submission: "O Ahl-ul-Bait of Allah's Messenger, Your love is duty imposed upon us in the Holy Quran, It is enough among your great privileges, That whoever does not bless you, his prayer is void." [Ref: Ibn-e-Hajar's Sawaiq-e-Mohriqa, page no. 88 in connection with his interpretation of Ch. 33:33 of the Holy Quran]

Holy Quran (Surah Shura; 42:23): (O Muhammad) Say, I do not ask for any reward for this (bringing of Allah's message) except the love for the near kinship.

The Muslims asked the Propeht (s.a.w.s): "Who are these near kin of yours whose love is obligatory upon us?" He (s.a.w.s) replied, "Ali, Fatima and their two sons." [ al-Suyuti, al-Durr al Manthur, vol. 6, pg.6-7; al Qastallani, Irshad al-Sari Sharh Sahih al-Bukhari, vol.7, pg. 331]

Imam Malik b. Anas, the Imam of Malikis explained the following Holy verse, "And intend We to bestow our favour upon those who were considered weak in the land, and to make them the Imams (guides in faith), and to make them the heirs," [Holy Quran (Qasas; 28:5)]. He explained it as follows: "The meaning of this verse has not occurred yet. The community waits for the person whom this verse concerns." Abul-Faraj Esfahani reported, When the Abbasids persecuted the Alawite, Muhammad b. Jafar al-Alawi complained to Malik b. Anas about this. So Malik said to him, "Be patient till the meaning of this verse: and to make them the Imams (guides in faith), and to make them the heirs", occurs" [Abul- Faraj Esfahani, Maqatil Talibiyyin, p.539]

Holy Quran (Surah Hud; 11: 86): What remains with Allah is better for you if  you are believers (Baqiyatullah - He- Khayrul lakum-In-Kuntum Momineen).

Shaafie Scholar Syed Momin Shablanji has quoted a long tradition in his book 'NOOR-UL-ABSAAR' from Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Baqir (a.s). A part of it is as follows: "So when Mahdi (a.s) will reappear he will rest his back against the wall of Kaaba and 313 of his followers will gather around him. Then the first word which he will utter will be the verse of Holy Quran "BAQIYATULLAH - HE- KHAYR ULLAKUM- IN-KUNTUM MOMINEEN'. Thereafter he will say "
I am BAQIYATUL-LAH. HIS vicegerents and caliph and His Proof (HUJJAT) upon you. After that who ever will salute him will salute him in this words." "ASSALAAMO-ALAIYKA-YA BAQUIYATALLAH FIL-ARDEHI" (Peace be upon you '0' the Remnant of God on his earth) [Reference: Noor-ul-Absaar, page 172]

With Greetings to, and on the occasion of birth of, the Imam of our Time - Baqiyatullah – Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.),   15th Shabaan, Mubarak to you and your family.

Yours in faith,

Shabib Zaidi.
