Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu
 
 
 
Below in the article there is an error.Its was written that knowledge of hour is known to Allah alone & written in mother of books i.e lawh e mahfuz.Instead it should've been written that knowledge of unseen if know to Allah alone & written in mother of books that its known to Allah alone.
 

Knowledge of unseen is only with Allah,any knowledge which comes through a source is knowledge given,so knowledge of unseen was informed or given to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam.Whether knowledge of unseen is gained through inspiration,true dreams,through Jinns,its just knowledge from another source .But without a source only Allah has knowledge .He alone knows knowledge of unseen.When he teaches Prophets [peace be upon them] about the unseen through inspiration then inspiration is the source,some times inspirations comes through angels and sometimes without angels but the inspiration is itself a source to seek knowledge of unseen

Tafsir ibn Kathir
(34. Verily, Allah, with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware.)
 
The Knower of the Unseen is Allah These are the keys of the Unseen, whose knowledge Allah alone has kept for Himself, and no one else knows them unless Allah tells him about them. The knowledge of `when the Hour will occur' is not known to any Prophet who was sent or any angel who is close to Allah.
 

(None can reveal its time but He) (7:187). Similarly, no one but Allah knows when rain will fall, but when He issues the commands, the angels who are entrusted with the task of bringing rain know about it, as do those among His creation whom He wills should know. No one but He knows what is in the wombs of what He wants to create, but when He decrees whether it is to be male or female, and whether it is to be blessed or doomed, the angels who are entrusted with that know about it, as do those among His creation whom He wills should know. No one knows what he will earn tomorrow with regard to this world or the Hereafter.

 
(and no person knows in what land he will die.) in his own land or elsewhere, in some other land. No one knows this. This Ayah is like the Ayah,

 
(And with Him are the keys of the Unseen, none knows them but He.) (6:59) It was reported in the Sunnah that the above five things are called the Keys of the Unseen. Imam Ahmad recorded that Buraydah said that he heard the Messenger of Allah say:

 
(There are five things which no one knows except Allah: (Verily, Allah, with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware.)) The chain of narrators for this Hadith is Sahih, although they did not recorded it.
 
The Hadith of Abu Hurayrah

 

In his Tafsir of this Ayah, Al-Bukhari narrated from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah [salla lahu alaihi wa sallam] was standing before the people one day when a man came to him and said, `O Messenger of Allah, what is Iman' He said:

(Iman is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers and in the meeting with Him, and to believe in the Resurrection in the Hereafter.) He said: `O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam' He said:

 (Islam is to worship Allah Alone and not associate anything in worship with Him, to establish regular prayer, to pay the obligatory Zakah, and to fast in Ramadan.) He said, `O Messenger of Allah, what is Ihsan' He said:

(Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then He sees you.) He said, `O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour come' He said:

 (The one who is asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking, but I will tell you of some of its signs: when the servant woman gives birth to her mistress, that is one of its signs; when the barefoot and naked become leaders of the people, that is one of its signs. The timing of the Hour is one of the five things which no one knows except Allah: (Verily, Allah, with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs....)) Then the man went away, and the Prophet said,

 (Bring him back to me.) They went to bring him back, but they could not find him. He said:

 (That was Jibril who came to teach the people their religion.) It was also recorded by Al-Bukhari in the Book of Faith, and by Muslim with several chains of narration. We have discussed this at the beginning of our commentary on Al-Bukhari, where we mentioned at length some Hadiths narrated by the Commander of the faithful `Umar bin Al-Khattab. These were recorded only by Muslim.
 
(and no person knows in what land he will die.) Qatadah said, "There are some things which Allah has kept to Himself, and they are not known to any angel who is close to Him or any Prophet who was sent by Him.

(Verily, Allah, with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, ) no one among mankind knows when the Hour will come, in which year or month, or whether it will come at night or during the day.

(He sends down the rain,) and no one knows when rain will come, night or day.

(and knows that which is in the wombs.) No one knows what is in the wombs, male or female, red or black, or what it is.

(No person knows what he will earn tomorrow,) whether it will be good or bad. You do not know, O son of Adam, when you will die. You might die tomorrow, you might be stricken by calamity tomorrow.

 (and no person knows in what land he will die.) means, no person knows where his resting place will be, on the land or in the sea, on a plain or in the mountains. It says in the Hadith:

(If Allah wants to take a person's soul in a particular land, He will give him a reason to go there.) In Al-Mu`jam Al-Kabir, Al-Hafiz Abu Al-Qasim At-Tabarani recorded that Usamah bin Zayd said, "The Messenger of Allah said:

(Allah does not will that a person should die in a certain land but He gives him a reason to go there.)'' This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Luqman. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Sufficient for us is Allah and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.
 
79:42. They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time?
43. You have no knowledge to say anything about it,
44. To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof?
45. You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it,
46. The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning.

 "Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone)"[Surah Luqmaan (31): Verse 34]
 
 "They ask you about the hour, when will be its appointed time? Say: The knowledge of it is `Only' with my Lord"[Surah Al-A'raf (7):187]
 
 "None knows when the Hour will be established but Allah"[Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol 6, Book 60, Hadeeth 219/301]
 
"The Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. Verily, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone).[Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadeeth 300]
 
None can reveal its time but He-7:187
 
34:3 The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous:

Tafsir Ibn Abbas:
"(Those who disbelieve) the disbelievers of Mecca: Abu Jahl and his host (say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say) to them, O Muhammad: (Nay, by my Lord) Allah swore by Himself, (but it is coming) the Hour is coming (unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen) He knows what is hidden from people. (Not an atom's weight) not even a small red ant, (or less than that or greater, escapes Him) is hidden from Allah (in the heavens or in the earth) as regard the works of the servants, (but it is in a clear Record) in the Guarded Tablet well preserved,"

Note:Knowledge of judgement day is with Allah alone and written in mother of books that only Allah knows the knowledge of unseen.But its portents were informed to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam .

Belief  Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 2 :: Hadith 47 Narrated Abu Huraira:
One day while the Prophet was sitting in the company of some people, (The angel) Gabriel came and asked, "What is faith?" Allah's Apostle replied, 'Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?" Allah's Apostle replied, "To worship Allah Alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat) and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What is Ihsan (perfection)?" Allah's Apostle replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you." Then he further asked, "When will the Hour be established?" Allah's Apostle replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents.
1. When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master.
2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.
The Prophet then recited: "Verily, with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour--." (31. 34) Then that man (Gabriel) left and the Prophet asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet said, "That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah said: He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith.
 
 
Book 004, Number 1857:(Sahih Muslim)
Abu Huraira reported the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday.
 


The keys Of The Unseen Are Five
 
31:34. Verily, Allâh! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allâh is All­Knower, All­Aware (of things).
 
Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))  Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 151 Narrated Abdullah:
Allah's Apostle said, "The key of the Unseen are five: Verily with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour He sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware." (31.34)
 
*Note 1:Only Allah subhanawatala has knowledge of unseen.
*Note 2: (a)Knowledge of judgement day is with Allah alone and written in mother of books that only Allah knows the knowledge of hour.But its portents were informed to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam ,he informed the companions/Sahaba,they passed down to others.Some sahaba forgot and some remembered.
(b)Rain-If there are clouds then anyone can say it will rain,knowledge of unseen  about rain is,knowing it will rain without any source attached to it.Looking at the wheather and giving the information about it is giving information/knowledge after seeing.
(c)Womb-Knowing whether the child will be pious or impious is known to Allah and is written in mother of books.He imparts this knowledge to angel,Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam received knowledge about this through a source .
Knowing what is in the womb through medical tests is knowledge after seeing,no one can give such information without knowing from some source,be it dreams etc.
(d)Earn Tomorrow-Having a job with which one knows what one earns means having knowledge after seeing,and nobody knows what he/she will earn tomorrow with certainity because life can take any turn.
(e)Death-No one knows in what land he/she will die,even if one plans then there is no surety that one would die in a certain place.But if Allah subhanawatala informs through dreams etc then its knowledge of unseen through source.
 
*Note 3:True dreams-with true dreams Allah gives knowledge of unseen,when a person gets dream that very moment it becomes knowledge through source.this is how knowledge of unseen is provided.Knowldeg of unseen is only with Allah and others get it only through source.

Knowledge Of Unseen Is With Allah

27:65 None in the heavens or on earth, except God, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgment).

 

6:50"I tell you not that with me are the treasures of God, nor do I know what is hidden, nor do I tell you I am an angel. I but follow what is revealed to me." Say: "can the blind be held equal to the seeing?" Will ye then consider not?

 

7:188 "I have no power over any good or harm to myself except as God willeth. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I should have multiplied all good, and no evil should have touched me: I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings to those who have faith."

 

 

66:3. And (remember) when the Prophet (SAW) disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives (Hafsah), so when she told it (to another i.e. 'Aishah), and Allâh made it known to him, he informed part thereof and left a part. Then when he told her (Hafsah) thereof, she said: "Who told you this?" He said: "The All-Knower, the All-Aware (Allâh) has told me".

 

53:32. Those who avoid great sins (see the Qur'ân, Verses: 6:152,153) and Al-Fawâhish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) except the small faults, verily, your Lord is of vast forgiveness. He knows you well when He created you from the earth (Adam), and when you were fetuses in your mothers' wombs. So ascribe not purity to yourselves. He knows best him who fears Allâh and keep his duty to Him [i.e. those who are Al-Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2)].

 

 53: 17. The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it).

 

5:109. One day will Allah gather the messengers together, and ask: "What was the response ye received (from men to your teaching)?" They will say: "We have no knowledge: it is Thou Who knowest in full all that is hidden."

 

 

5:116. And (remember) when Allâh will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allâh?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my innerself though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the AllKnower of all that is hidden and unseen.

 

6:59 "With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).

 

 

 

Allah Chooses Of His Messengers And Gives Knowledge Of Unseen

3:179. Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Messengers (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah. And His messengers: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure.

 

72:25. Say (O Muhammad saww): "I know not whether (the punishment) which you are promised is near or whether my Lord will appoint for it a distant term.

26:"(He Alone) the All-Knower of the Ghâ'ib (unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghâ'ib (unseen)."

27:Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.

28: [He (Allâh) protects them (the Messengers)], till He sees that they (the Messengers) have conveyed the Messages of their Lord (Allâh). And He (Allâh) surrounds all that which is with them, and He (Allâh) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything).

 

 

3:44. This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Messenger!) by inspiration: Thou wast not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Mary: Nor wast thou with them when they disputed (the point).

*Note: Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam learned the unseen through revelation by inspiration.Gabriel alai salaam used to bring revelation.

 

81:24 The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) does not withhold grudgingly a Knowledge of the Unseen

 

11:49. This is of the news of the unseen which We reveal unto you (O Muhammad ), neither you nor your people knew them before this. So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for the Muttaqûn.

 

12:102. Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee; nor wast thou (present) with them then when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots. 

 

4:113. Had not the Grace of Allâh and His Mercy been upon you (O Muhammad saww), a party of them would certainly have made a decision to mislead you, but (in fact) they mislead none except their own selves, and no harm can they do to you in the least. Allâh has sent down to you the Book (The Qur'ân), and AlHikmah (Islâmic laws, knowledge of legal and illegal things i.e. the Prophet's Sunnah - legal ways), and taught you that which you knew not. And Ever Great is the Grace of Allâh unto you .

 

21:3. We relate unto you (Muhammad saww) the best of stories through Our Revelations unto you, of this Qur'ân. And before this (i.e. before the coming of Divine Inspiration to you), you were among those who knew nothing about it (the Qur'ân).

 

42:52. And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur'ân) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allâh's religion of Islâmic Monotheism).

 

Another source of revealation

Revelation Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 1 :: Hadith 2 Narrated 'Aisha:
(the mother of the faithful believers) Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell, this form of Inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes ' off after I have grasped what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says." 'Aisha added: Verily I saw the Prophet being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the Sweat dropping from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over).

 

 

Earlier Prophets Also Got Knowledge Of Unseen

 

1.Adam (alaihis salaam) and the Angels, it is said: "He (Allah) taught the names (nature and qualitative attributes) of all the things and placed them before the Angels". (Surah Baqarah: Verse 31)

 

2.Da'ud (alaihis salaam), it is said, "He (Allah) gave Da'ud power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else)He willed." (Surah Baqarah: Verse 251)

 

3. Sulaiman (alaihis salaam), it is said, "O People! We have been taught the speech of the birds, and on us has been bestowed (a little of) all things." (Surah Namal: Verse 16)

 

4. Lut (alaihis salaam), it is said, "And to Lut We gave Judgement and Wisdom." (Surah Anbiya: Verse 74)

 

5. Yaqub (alaihis salaam) it was said, "He was, by Our instructions full of Knowledge (and experience), but most men know not." (Surah Yusuf: Verse 96)

 

6. Yaqub (alaihis salaam) himself told his sons about this blessing from Allah thus, "Did I not say to you, I know from Allah that which you know not." (Surah Yusuf: Verse 96)

 

7. Hazrat Yusuf (alaihis salaam), it is said, "When Yusuf attained his full manhood, We gave him Power and Knowledge; thus do We reward those who do the right things." (Surah Yusuf: Verse 22)

 

8. Musa (alaihis salaam), it is said, "When he reached full age and was firmly established (in life), We bestowed on him Wisdom and Knowledge." (Surah Qasas: Verse 140)

 

9. Khizr (on him be peace): " 18:66. Mûsa (Moses) said to him (Khidr) "May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allâh)?"

 *Note:Khizr alaihis salaam was'nt Prophet but still Allah subhanawatala gave him knowledge of unseen

 

 

18:65. Then they found one of Our slaves, unto whom We had bestowed mercy from Us, and whom We had taught knowledge from Us.

 

10. Isa (alaihis salaam) spoke to his followers thus, "And I declare to you whatever you eat and whatever you store in your houses." (Surah Ale Imran 3: Verse 49)

 

11. Yusuf (alaihis salaam) spoke to his fellow prisoners before telling them the meaning of their dreams. He said, "Before any food comes to you, I shall surely reveal to you the truth and meaning of this. It is due to the knowledge bestowed upon me by Allah that I have to reveal

to you what you did not know." (Surah Yusuf: Verse 37)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prophet Muhammad Salla lahu alaihi wa sallam Spoke When He Got Inspiration

 

53:1-3By the star when it goes down, your companion (i.e., Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only an Inspiration [wahy] that is inspired."

 

17:85 They ask thee concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)"

*Note:Knowledge  Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 3 :: Hadith 127 Narrated 'Abdullah:

While I was going with the Prophet through the ruins of Medina and he was reclining on a date-palm leaf stalk, some Jews passed by. Some of them said to the others: Ask him (the Prophet) about the spirit. Some of them said that they should not ask him that question as he might give a reply which would displease them. But some of them insisted on asking, and so one of them stood up and asked, "O Aba-l-Qasim ! What is the spirit?" The Prophet remained quiet. I thought he was being inspired Divinely. So I stayed till that state of the Prophet (while being inspired) was over. The Prophet then said, "And they ask you (O Muhammad) concerning the spirit --Say: The spirit -- its knowledge is with my Lord. And of knowledge you (mankind) have been given only a little)." (17.85)

 

2:3. Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakât , spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allâh's Cause - Jihâd, etc.].

*Note:Ghaib here is believing in Allah without seeing him.

 

18:65. Then they found one of Our slaves, unto whom We had bestowed mercy from Us, and whom We had taught knowledge from Us.

 

.4:113 But for the Grace of God to thee and his Mercy, a party of them would certainly have plotted to lead thee astray. But (in fact) they will only Lead their own souls astray, and to thee they can do no harm in the least. For God hath sent down to thee the Book and wisdom and taught thee what thou Knewest not (before): And great is the Grace of God unto thee

 

16:89 One day We shall raise from all Peoples a witness against them, from amongst themselves: and We shall bring thee as a witness against these (thy people): and We have sent down to thee the Book explaining all things, a Guide, a Mercy, and Glad Tidings to Muslims

*Note:The people whom Prophet Muhammad witnessed when he was alive.

 

 

Mother Of The Book-Is Called Kitabul Mubeen, Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz

 

Every thing is in Kitabul-Mubeen-Mother of the book.That which is unseen is written in this book

 

13:39. Allâh blots out what He wills and confirms (what He wills). And with Him is the Mother of the Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz)

 

43:4. And Verily, it (this Qur'ân) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfûz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom.

 

6:59 With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, but is (inscribed) in a Kitabum Mubeen.

 

11:6 There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance dependeth on Allah. He knoweth the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in Kitabim Mubeen.

 

34:3. Those who disbelieve say: "The Hour will not come to us." Say: "Yes, by my Lord, it will come to you." (Allâh, He is) the All­Knower of the unseen, not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater, escapes from His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a Clear Book (Al­Lauh Al­Mahfûz).

*Note:Knowledge of unseen is in kitabul mubeen.Allah subhanawatala says only he has knowledge of unseen and he will give his knowledge of unseen to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam as much as he wills and he has preserved knowledge of unseen and every kind of knowledge in kitabul mubieen..

 

Quran Is Also Called Furqan, Kitabul Mubeen,Kitab, Thikr etc

 

12:1 Alif.Laam.Ra. These are the symbols of the Kitabil Mubeen

*Note:Tafsir Ibn Abbas:"And from his own narration on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that he said in the explanation of the saying of Allah, exalted is He, (Alif. Lam. Ra.): '(Alif. Lam. Ra.) Allah says: I am Allah, I see what you do and what you say. That which Muhammad (pbuh) recites unto you is My speech; it is also said that (Alif. Lam. Ra.) is an oath that Allah swore by. (These are verses of the Scripture that maketh plain) this surah, or verses of the Qur'an, expounds the lawful and unlawful, the commands and prohibitions."Source: {Tafsir Ibn Abbas – 12:1}

 

Tafsir Al-Jalalayn:"Alif lām rā': God knows best what He means by these [letters]. Those, verses, are the verses of the Book, the Qur'ān (the genitive annexation carries the meaning of [partitive] min, 'from') that makes plain, the one that manifests truth [distinguishing it] from what is falsehood."

Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad SAW) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allâh a light (Prophet Muhammad SAW ) and a plain Book (this Qur'ân)[ Kitabun mubeenun]

   .  *Note:Tafsir al-Jalalayn:5:15"O People of the Scripture, Jews and Christians, now there has come to you Our Messenger, Muhammad (s), making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture, the Torah and the Gospel, such as the 'stoning' verse and the description [of the Prophet Muhammad (s)], and pardoning much, of it, which he does not reveal, since this would not be of any benefit, serving only to disgrace you. There has verily come to you from God a light, namely, the Prophet (s), and a Book, a Qur'ān, lucid, plain and manifest,"

 

Surah 55: [1.] ((Allah)) Most Gracious! [2.] It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. [3.] He has created man: [4.] He has taught him speech

 

 

The Greatest Lie Against Allah.

The Book of Faith (Kitab Al-Iman) Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 337

It is narrated on the authority of Masruq that he said: I was resting at (the house of) 'A'isha that she said: O Abu 'A'isha (kunya of Masruq), there are three things, and he who affirmed even one of them fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. I asked that they were. She said: He who presumed that Muhammad (may peace be upon him) saw his Lord (with his ocular vision) fabricated the greatest lie against Allah. I was reclining but then sat up and said: Mother of the Faithful, wait a bit and do not be in a haste. Has not Allah (Mighty and Majestic) said:" And truly he saw him on the clear horizon" (al-Qur'an, lxxxi. 23) and" he saw Him in another descent" (al-Qur'an, iiii. 13)? She said: I am the first of this Ummah who asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) about it, and he said: Verily he is Gabriel. I have never seen him in his original form in which he was created except on those two occasions (to which these verses refer) ; I saw him descending from the heaven and filling (the space) from the sky to the earth with the greatness of his bodily structure. She said: Have you not heard Allah saying." Eyes comprehend Him not, but He comprehends (all) vision. and He is Subtle, and All-Aware" (al-Qur'an, v. 104)? (She, i. e. 'A'isha, further said): Have you not heard that, verily, Allah says:" And it is not vouchsafed to a human being that Allah should speak unto him otherwise than by revelation, or from behind a veil, or that He sendeth a messenger (angel), so that he revealth whatsoever He wills. Verily He is Exalted. Wise" (al. Qur'an, xii. 51) She said: He who presumes that the Messengerof Allah (may peace be upon him) concealed anything, from the Book, of Allah fabricates the greatest lie against Allah. Allah says:" O Messenger! deliver that which has been revealed to thee from thy Lord, and if thou do (it) not, thou hast not delivered His message" (al-Qur'an, v. 67).
She said: He who presumes that he would inform about what was going to happen tomorrow fabricates the greatest lie against Allah. And Allah says" Say thou (Muhammad): None in the heavens and the earth knoweth the unseen save Allah" (al-Qur'an, xxvii 65).

 

*Note:1.He who presumes that Muhammad (may peace be upon him) saw his Lord (with his ocular vision) when he ascended during miraj fabricated the greatest lie against Allah

*Note:2.He who presumes that the Messengerof Allah (may peace be upon him) concealed anything from the Book of Allah fabricates the greatest lie against Allah.

*Note:3.He who presumes that he would inform about what was going to happen tomorrow fabricates the greatest lie against Allah because only Allah has knowledge of unseen and others receive it through a source.


 

Asking Questions Regarding Unseen To Prophet Muhammad[salla lahu alaihi wa sallam]

Allah gave him knowledge of unseen either through Gabriel alai salaam or other sources.

  

Sahih Bukhari Volume 9, Book 88, Number 211:]Narrated Anas:

The people started asking the Prophet too many questions importunately. So one day he ascended the pulpit and said, "You will not ask me any question but I will explain it to you." I looked right and left, and behold, every man was covering his head with his garment and weeping. Then got up a man who, whenever quarreling with somebody, used to be accused of not being the son of his father. He said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is my father?" The Prophet replied, "Your father is Hudhaifa." Then 'Umar got up and said, "We accept Allah as our Lord, Islam as our religion and Muhammad as our Apostle and we seek refuge with Allah from the evil of afflictions." The Prophet said, " I have never seen the good and bad like on this day. No doubt, Paradise and Hell was displayed in front of me till I saw them in front of that wall," Qatada said: This Hadith used to be mentioned as an explanation of this Verse:-- 'O you who believe! Ask not questions about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble.' (5.101)

 

Ibn Abbas (ra) narrated:"Some people were asking Allah's Apostle questions mockingly. A man would say, "Who is my father?" Another man whose she-camel had gone astray would say, "Where is my she-camel? "So Allah revealed this Verse in this connection: "O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble." (5.101) "[Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol 6, Book 60, Number 146]

 

5: 101. O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if you ask about them while the Qur'ân is being revealed, they will be made plain to you. Allâh has forgiven that, and Allâh is OftForgiving, Most Forbearing. 

 

3.7 He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prophet Muhammad sala lahu alaihi wa sallam Shared Complete Knowledge Of Unseen

 

81:24 The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) does not withhold grudgingly any Knowledge of the Unseen

 

Sahih Muslim HadithHadith 4876 Narrated byAli ibn AbuTalib AbuTufayl Amir ibn Wathilah reported: I was in the company of Ali ibn AbuTalib, when a person came to him, and said: What was it that Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) told you in secret? Thereupon he (Ali) was enraged and said: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) did not tell me anything in secret, that he hid from people, except that he told me four things. He said: Commander of Faithful, what are these? He said: Allah cursed him who cursed his father; Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allah; and Allah cursed him who accommodates an innovator (in religion); and Allah cursed him who changed the minarets (the boundary lines) of the land.

 

 

Abu Dharr said: "Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) had left us in the following state: that there was not even a bird flapping its wings in the air without his having already imparted to us knowledge about it. Then he said (peace be upon him): 'Nothing remains that brings you closer to Paradise or further from the Hellfire except that it has been explained to you'."

[al-Mu`jam al-Kabîr (2/155-156)]al-Khattabi (rah) explains the hadeeth as follows:

"The Prophet (saw) completely and thoroughly expounded on Islam so that nothing remained ambiguous. He even explained to them all the rulings related to birds – what of them is lawful and what is unlawful, how they should be slaughtered, what a pilgrim must pay if he kills one during the Hajj, and so forth."

Imam Ahmad and al-Tabarani narrated from Abu Dharr (r) who said: "When the Messenger of Allah left us there was not a bird that flies but he had informed us about it."

*Note:Knowedge of birds taught by Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) means he taught them slaughtering method and halal and haram about birds.

 

 

 

 

 

The keys Of The Unseen Are Five

 

31:34. Verily, Allâh! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allâh is All­Knower, All­Aware (of things).

 

Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))  Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 151 Narrated Abdullah:

Allah's Apostle said, "The key of the Unseen are five: Verily with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour He sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. No soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware." (31.34)

 

*Note 1:Only Allah subhanawatala has knowledge of unseen.

*Note 2: (a)Knowledge of judgement day is with Allah alone and written in mother of books that only Allah knows the knowledge of unseen..But its portents were informed to Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam ,he informed the companions/Sahaba,they passed down to others.Some sahaba forgot and some remembered.

(b)Rain-If there are clouds then anyone can say it will rain,knowledge of unseen  about rain is,knowing it will rain without any source attached to it.Looking at the wheather and giving the information about it is giving information/knowledge after seeing.

(c)Womb-Knowing whether the child will be pious or impious is known to Allah and is written in mother of books.He imparts this knowledge to angel,Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam received knowledge about this through a source .

Knowing what is in the womb through medical tests is knowledge after seeing,no one can give such information without knowing from some source,be it dreams etc.

(d)Earn Tomorrow-Having a job with which one knows what one earns means having knowledge after seeing,and nobody knows what he/she will earn tomorrow with certainity because life can take any turn.

(e)Death-No one knows in what land he/she will die,even if one plans then there is no surety that one would die in a certain place.But if Allah subhanawatala informs through dreams etc then its knowledge of unseen through source.

 

*Note 3:True dreams-with true dreams Allah gives knowledge of unseen,when a person gets dream that very moment it becomes knowledge through source.this is how knowledge of unseen is provided.Knowldeg of unseen is only with Allah and others get it only through source.

 

 

 

Judgement Day

 

The Portents Of Judgement Day Are Known But Not The Exact Moment

 

None knows when the Hour will be established but Allah

 

"Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone)"[Surah Luqmaan (31): Verse 34]

 

 "They ask you about the hour, when will be its appointed time? Say: The knowledge of it is `Only' with my Lord"[Surah Al-A'raf (7):187]

 

 "None knows when the Hour will be established but Allah"[Sahih al-Bukhari: Vol 6, Book 60, Hadeeth 219/301]

 

"The Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. Verily, the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone).[Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol 6, Book 60, Hadeeth 300]

 

34:3 The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you;- by Him Who knows the unseen,- from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous:

 

Belief  Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 2 :: Hadith 47 Narrated Abu Huraira:

One day while the Prophet was sitting in the company of some people, (The angel) Gabriel came and asked, "What is faith?" Allah's Apostle replied, 'Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?" Allah's Apostle replied, "To worship Allah Alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat) and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What is Ihsan (perfection)?" Allah's Apostle replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you." Then he further asked, "When will the Hour be established?" Allah's Apostle replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents.

1. When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master.

2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.

The Prophet then recited: "Verily, with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour--." (31. 34) Then that man (Gabriel) left and the Prophet asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet said, "That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah said: He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith.

 

None can reveal its time but He-7:187

 

Tafsir Ibn Abbas:

"(Those who disbelieve) the disbelievers of Mecca: Abu Jahl and his host (say: The Hour will never come unto us. Say) to them, O Muhammad: (Nay, by my Lord) Allah swore by Himself, (but it is coming) the Hour is coming (unto you surely. (He is) the Knower of the Unseen) He knows what is hidden from people. (Not an atom's weight) not even a small red ant, (or less than that or greater, escapes Him) is hidden from Allah (in the heavens or in the earth) as regard the works of the servants, (but it is in a clear Record) in the Guarded Tablet well preserved,"

Book 004, Number 1857:(Sahih Muslim)

Abu Huraira reported the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday.

 

 

 

Rain

 

Prophet Muhammad prayed for rain

 

Knowledge of Rain:Vol 2, Book 13. Friday Prayer.Hadith 055. (Shahi Bukhari):

"Narrated By ANAS BIN MALIK: Once in the lifetime of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) the people were afflicted with drought (famine). While the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, "O, Allah's Apostle! Our possessions are being destroyed and the children are hungry; please invoke Allah (for rain)". So the Prophet raised his hands. At that time there was not a trace of cloud in the sky. By Him in Whose Hands my soul is as soon as he lowered his hands, clouds gathered like mountains, and before he got down from the pulpit, I saw the rain falling on the beard of the Prophet. It rained that day, the next day, the third day, the fourth day till the next Friday. The same Bedouin or another man stood up and said, "O Allah's Apostle! The houses have collapsed, our possessions and livestock have been drowned; Please invoke Allah (to protect us)". So the Prophet I raised both his hands and said, "O Allah! Round about us and not on us". So, in whatever direction he pointed with his hands, the clouds dispersed and cleared away, and Medina's (sky) became clear as a hole in between the clouds. The valley of Qanat remained flooded, for one month, none came from outside but talked about the abundant rain."

 

Another point:Studying the wheather one can find out when it will rain,but this will not be considered knowledge of unseen,because after seeing the wheather only one can conclude whether it will rain or not via scientific ways.So here a source is required,its not knowledge of unseen,its knowledge after seeing.But no one can find out when it will rain after years etc.

 

 

 

Womb

 

Knowledge of womb given to humans,Allah gives his knowledge of unseen to Angels & Messengers he chooses.

 

Allah knows what every female bears, and by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or exceed. Everything with Him is in (due) proportion. All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most Great, the Most High"[Surah Ar-Ra'd (13): Verse 8-9]

 

Al-`Awfi reported from Ibn Abbas (ra) that he said, "and by how much the wombs fall short", this refers to miscarriages, "or exceed", this refers to carrying her foetus in her womb for the full term. Some women carry their fetus for ten months, while others for nine months. Some terms are longer or shorter then others. This is the falling short or exceeding that Allah the Exalted mentioned, and all this occurs by His knowledge" [At-Tabari 16:359]

 

 

"Then the angel asks, "O Lord! Is it a male or a female, miserable or happy, what is its provision and life span?", Allah then ordains and the angel records it"[Fath al-Bari 11:486, Muslim 4:2038]

 

 "He creates you in the wombs of your mother: creation after creation in three veils of darkness" [39:6]

 

In the two Sahihs it is recorded that Abdullah bin Mas'ud said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said,

"The matter of the creation of one of you is put together in the womb of the mother in forty days, and then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period, and then a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an angel who is ordered to write four things. He is ordered to write down his provisions, his life span, his deeds, and whether he will be blessed or wretched"

The Book of Destiny (Kitab-ul-Qadr)  Muslim :: Book 33 : Hadith 6391

This hadith has been reported on the authority of A'mash with the same chain of transmitters and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Waki' (the words are):" The creation of any one of you is like this that (semen) is collected in the womb of the mother for forty nights," and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Shu'ba (the words are):" Forty nights and forty days." And in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Jarir and 'Isa (the words are):" Forty days."

 

Prophets  Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 55 :: Hadith 549 Narrated Abdullah:

Allah's Apostle, the true and truly inspired said, "(as regards your creation), every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for an other forty days, and then a piece of flesh for an other forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in religion). Then the soul is breathed into his body. So a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. Similarly, a person may do deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and he starts doing deeds of the people of the (Hell) Fire and enters the (Hell) Fire."

 

Vol 9, Book 93. Oneness, Uniqueness Of AllahHadith 546. (Shahi Bukhari)

"Narrated By 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud: Allah's Apostle the true and truly inspired, narrated to us, "The creation of everyone of you starts with the process of collecting the material for his body within forty days and forty nights in the womb of his mother. Then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar period (40 DAYS) and then he becomes like a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then an angel is 

 

Book 40. Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties,

The Holy Prophet (Alah's Grace & Peace be upon Him) informed that His daughter (Fatima Radi Allahu Anha) would bare a son"(Mishquat Chapter Manaqib-e- Ahle bait)

 

 Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 6171 Narrated byUmm al-Fadl daughter of al-Harith
Umm al-Fadl went in to see Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) and said, "Messenger of Allah, I had an objectionable dream last night." He asked what it was and she replied, "It was terrible." He asked, "But what was it?" She replied, "I seemed to see a piece of your body cut off and placed in my lap." He said, "You have seen something good. If Allah wills Fatimah will give birth to a son who will be in your lap." Fatimah then gave birth to al-Husayn who was placed in her lap as Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) had said. One day she went in to see Allah's messenger and placed him in his lap. She turned round, and noticing tears falling from the eyes of Allah's Messenger, she said, "Prophet of Allah, for whom I would give my father and mother as ransom, what is the matter with you?" He replied, "Gabriel came to me and informed me that my people will kill this son of mine." She asked if he really meant this one and he replied, "Yes, and he brought me a piece of red earth."
Bayhaqi transmitted it in Dala'il an-Nubuwwah.
 

 

 

Earn Tomorrow

 

Hassan ibn Thabit said : The Prophet who sees around him what others do not And recites the Book of Allah in every assembly! If he says something of a day which he has not yet seen What he says is confirmed on the morrow or the next day(Narrated from Hisham ibn Hubaysh by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir (4:48-50), al-Hakim (3:9-10) with a chain he declared sound, Ibn `Abd al-Barr in al-Isti`ab (4:1958-1962), al-Taymi in Dala'il al-Nubuwwa (p. 59-60), and al-Lalika'i in his Sharh. Us.ul I`tiqad Ahl al-Sunna (4:780). Cf. al-T.abari in his Tafsir (1:447-448) 

 

*Note:Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam was given Knowledge of unseen.

 

 

Death

 

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: This is the place where so and so would be killed. He placed his hand on the earth (saying) here and here; (and) none of them fell away from the place which the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had indicated by placing his hand on the earth. (Sahih Muslim #4394)

 

 

Sahih al-Bukhari [Book 92, no. 397]: "Allah's Apostle kept on saying, "Ask Me! " Then a man got up and asked, ''Where will my entrance be, O Allah's Apostle?" The Prophet said, "(You will go to) the Fire."

Anas b. Malik reported: Abu Dharr used to relate that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: The roof of my house was cleft when I was in Mecca and Gabriel descended and opened my heart and then washed it with the water of Zamzam. He then brought a gold basin full of wisdom and faith and after emptying it into my breast, he closed it up. Then taking me by he hand, he ascended with me to th heaven, and when we came to the lowest heaven, Gabriel said to the guardian of the lowest heaven: Open. He asked who was there? He replied. It is Gabriel. He again asked whe he there was someone with him. He replied: Yes, it is Muhammad with me. He was asked if he had been sent for, He (Gabriel) said: Yes. Then he opened (the gate). When we ascended the lowest heaven (I saw) a man seated with parties on his right side and parties on his left side. When he looked up to his right, he laughed and when he looked to his left, he wept. He said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and the righteous son. I asked Gabriel who he was and he replied: He is adam (peace be upon him) and these parties on his right and on his left are the souls of his descendants. Those of them on his right are the inmates of Paradise and the parties which are on his left side are the inmates of Hell; so when he looked towards his right side, he laughed, and when he looked towards his left side, he wept. Then Gabriel ascended with me to the second heaven. He asked its guardian to open (its gate), and its guardian replied in the same way as the guardian of the lowest heaven had said. He (opened it). Anas b. Malik said: He (the Holy Prophet) mentioned that he found in the heavens adam, Idris, Jesus, Moses and Abraham (may peace be on all of them), but he did not ascertain as to the nature of their abodes except that he had found adam in the lowest heaven and Abraham in the sixth heaven. When Gabriel and the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) passed by Idris (peace be upon him) he said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous brother. He (the narrator) said: He then proceeded and said: Who is he? Gabriel replied: It is Idris. Then I passed by Moses (peace be upon him) and he said: Welcome tothe righteous apostle and righteous brother. I said to (Gabriel): Who is he? He replied: It is Moses. Then I passed by Jesus and he said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous brother. I said (to Gabriel): Who is he? He replied: Jesus, son of Mary. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Then I went to Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He said: Welcome to the righteous apostle and righteous son. I asked: Who is he? He (Gabriel) replied: It is Abraham. Ibn Shihab said: Ibn Hazm told me that Ibn 'Abbas and Abd Habba al-Ansari used to say that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Thereafter he ascended with me till I was taken to such a height where I heard the scraping of the pens. Ibn Hazm and Anas told that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Allah then made fifty prayers obligatory for my Ummah and I returned with that and passed by Moses. Moses, (peace be upon him) said: What has thy Lord enjoined on thy people? I said: Fifty prayers have been made obligatory on them. Moses (peace be upon him) said: Return to thy Lord, for thy Ummah would not be able to bear this burden. Then I came back to my Lord and He remitted a portion out of thut. I then again went to Moses (peace be upon him) and informed him about it He said: Return to thy Lord, for thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden. I then went back to my Lord and He said: They are five and at the same time fifty, and what has been said will not be changed. I then returned to Moses and he said: Go back to thy Lord. whereupon I said: I feel ashamed of my Lord. Gabriel then travelled with me till we came to the farthest lote-tree Many a colour had covered it which I do not know. Then I was admitted to Paradise and saw in it domes of pearls, and its soil of musk.  (Book #001, Hadith #0313)

 

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is reported to have said: "I saw Prophet Musa (alaihis salaam) in the valley of Azraq, while passing from Mecca to Madina. He was reciting Talbiah. On another ocassion, I saw Prophet Yunus (alaihis salaam) wearing a long woollen overcoat and riding a red camel." (Ibn-i-Majah, pp. 20, 208)

 

 

 

Prophet Muhammad[salla lahu alaihi wa salaam] and Inspiration

Fighting for the Cause of Allah (Jihaad)  Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 52 :: Hadith 55 Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The Prophet delivered a sermon and said, "Zaid took the flag and was martyred, and then Ja'far took the flag and was martyred, and then

'Abdullah bin Rawaha took the flag and was martyred too, and then Khalid bin Al-Walid took the flag though he was not appointed as a

commander and Allah made him victorious." The Prophet further added, "It would not please us to have them with us." Aiyub, a sub-narrator,

added, "Or the Prophet, shedding tears, said, 'It would not please them to be with us." 

*Note:Prophet Muhammad [salla lahu alaihi wa salaam] got the inspiration about the happenings in that battle.

 

Eclipses  Bukhari :: Book 2 :: Volume 18 :: Hadith 161 Narrated 'Abdullah bin Abbas:

The sun eclipsed in the life-time of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) . Allah's Apostle offered the eclipse prayer and stood for a long period equal to the period in which one could recite Surat-al-Baqara. Then he bowed for a long time and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing, then bowed again for a long time but for a shorter period than the first; then he prostrated twice and then stood up for a long period which was shorter than that of the first standing; then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the previous one, and then he raised his head and stood up for a long period which was shorter than the first standing, then he bowed for a long time which was shorter than the first bowing, and then prostrated (twice) and finished the prayer. By then, the sun (eclipse) had cleared. The Prophet then said, "The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They eclipse neither because of the death of somebody nor because of his life (i.e. birth). So when you see them, remember Allah." The people say, "O Allah's Apostle! We saw you taking something from your place and then we saw you retreating." The Prophet replied, "I saw Paradise and stretched my hands towards a bunch (of its fruits) and had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women." The people asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Why is it so?" The Prophet replied, "Because of their ungratefulness." It was asked whether they are ungrateful to Allah. The Prophet said, "They are ungrateful to their companions of life (husbands) and ungrateful to good deeds. If you are benevolent to one of them throughout the life and if she sees anything (undesirable) in you, she will say, 'I have never had any good from you.' "

 

(Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 390)Narrated Asma' bint Abu Bakr: I came to 'Aisha during the solar eclipse. The people were standing (offering prayer) and she too, was standing and offering prayer. I asked, "What is wrong with the people?" She pointed towards the sky with her hand and said, Subhan Allah!'' I asked her, "Is there a sign?" She nodded with her head meaning, yes. When Allah's Apostle finished (the prayer), he glorified and praised Allah and said, "There is not anything that I have not seen before but I have seen now at this place of mine, even Paradise and Hell. It has been revealed to me that you people will be put to trial nearly like the trial of Ad-Dajjal, in your graves. As for the true believer or a Muslim (the sub-narrator is not sure as to which of the two (words Asma' had said) he will say, 'Muhammad came with clear signs from Allah, and we responded to him (accepted his teachings) and believed (what he said)' It will be said (to him) 'Sleep in peace; we have known that you were a true believer who believed with certainty.' As for a hypocrite or a doubtful person, (the sub-narrator is not sure as to which word Asma' said) he will say, 'I do not know, but I heard the people saying something and so I said the same.'"

 

The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is described witnessing Paradise and Hell. (Muslim Shareef, vol.2, p. 180)

 

It is learnt that the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) knows each inmate by name going in the Paradise or in the Hell. (Miskhat Shareef, p. 19)

 

Then Allah's Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hand my life is, Paradise and Hell were displayed before me across this wall while I was praying, and I never saw such good and evil as I have seen today." (Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 92, Number 397)

 

Umar [May Allah be pleased with him] And Inspiration

 

Companions of the Prophet  Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 57 :: Hadith 38 Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "Among the nations before you there used to be people who were inspired (though they were not prophets). And if there is any of such a persons amongst my followers, it is 'Umar."

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Among the nation of Bani Israel who lived before you, there were men who used to be inspired with guidance though they were not prophets, and if there is any of such persons amongst my followers, it is 'Umar."

 

Umar's r.a voice was directly heard by Sariya

'Umar Faruq was delivering the Friday sermon from the pulpit at Medina. On account of his spiritual concentration, the battle scenario was right

before his eyes. During the sermon, he proclaimed loudly:O Sariyah! Go behind the mountain!

After saying this, he resumed delivering the sermon. He was performing two acts simultaneously: he was delivering the Friday sermon at the Prophet's Mosque, and at the same time he was directly issuing instructions to his commander at the battlefield.

 

Abu Nu'aym narrated it in Dala'il-un-nubuwwah (p.507); Khatib Tabrizi, Mishkat-ul-masabih, b. of fada'il (virtues) ch.8 (3:318#5954); Ibn 'Asakir in

Tahdhib tarikh Dimashq al-kabir generally known as Tarikh/Tahdhib Ibn 'Asakir; Ibn Kathir in al-Bidayah wan-nihayah (5:210-1) and declared its

chain of authorities as excellent and fair (jayyid hasan); 'Asqalani graded its chain of transmission hasan (fair) in al-Isabah fi tamyiz-is-sahabah

(2:3); 'Ali al-Hindi, Kanz-ul-'ummal (12:571,572,573 #35788-91); 'Ajlawni, Kashf-ul-khifa' wa muzil-ul-ilbas (2:514#3172); and Albani in

Silsilat-ul-ahadith-is-sahihah (#1110).

 

Khidr & Knowledge Of Unseen

Great Sahih Bukhari Hadith Vol 1, Book 3. Knowledge.Hadith 124. (Shahi Bukhari)

Narrated By Ubai bin Ka'b: The Narrated By Ubai bin Ka'b: The Prophet said, "Once the Prophet Moses stood up and addressed Bani Israel. He was asked, "Who is the most learned man amongst the people. He said, "I am the most learned." Allah admonished Moses as he did not attribute absolute knowledge to Him (Allah). So Allah inspired to him "At the junction of the two seas there is a slave amongst my slaves who is more learned than you." Moses said, "O my Lord! How can I meet him?" Allah said: Take a fish in a large basket (and proceed) and you will find him at the place where you will lose the fish. So Moses set out along with his (servant) boy, Yusha' bin Nuin and carried a fish in a large basket till they reached a rock, where they laid their heads (i.e. lay down) and slept.The fish came out of the basket and it took its way into the sea as in a tunnel. So it was an amazing thing for both Moses and his (servant) boy. They proceeded for the rest of that night and the following day. When the day broke, Moses said to his (servant) boy: "Bring us our early meal. No doubt, we have suffered much fatigue in this journey.Moses did not get tired till he passed the place about which he was told. There the (servant) boy told Moses, "Do you remember when we betook ourselves to the rock, I indeed forgot the fish." Moses remarked, "That is what we have been seeking. So they went back retracing their foot-steps, till they reached the rock. There they saw a man covered with a garment (or covering himself with his own garment). Moses greeted him. Al-Khadir replied saying, "How do people greet each other in your land?" Moses said, "I am Moses." He asked, "The Moses of Bani Israel?"

"The Moses of Bani Israel?" Moses replied in the affirmative and added, "May I follow you so that you teach me of that knowledge which you have been taught." Al-Khadir replied, "Verily! You will not be able to remain patient with me, O Moses! I have some of the knowledge of Allah which He has taught me and which you do not know, while you have some knowledge which Allah has taught you which I do not know." Moses said, "Allah willing, you will find me patient and I will not disobey you in aught. So both of them set out walking along the sea-shore, as they did not have a boat.

In the meantime a boat passed by them and they requested the crew of the boat to take them on board. The crew recognized Al-Khadir and took them on board without fare. Then a sparrow came and stood on the edge of the boat and dipped its beak once or twice in the sea.Al-Khadir said: "O Moses! My knowledge and your knowledge have not decreased Allah's knowledge except as much as this sparrow has decreased the water of the sea with its beak." Al-Khadir went to one of the planks of the boat and plucked it out. Moses said,"These people gave us a free lift but you have broken their boat and scuttled it so as to drown its people." Al-Khadir replied, "Didn't I tell you that you will not be able to remain patient with me."Moses said, "Call me not to account for what I forgot." The first (excuse) of Moses was that he had forgotten. Then they proceeded further and found a boy playing with other boys. Al-Khadir took hold of the boy's head from the top and plucked it out with his hands (i.e. KILLED him). Moses said, "Have you KILLED an innocent soul who has KILLED none." Al-Kha,dir replied, "Did I not tell you that you cannot remain patient with me?" Then they both proceeded till when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found there a wall on the point of collapsing. Al-Khadir repaired it with his own hands. Moses said, "If you had wished, surely you could have taken wages for it." Al-Khadir replied, "This is the parting between you and me." The Prophet added, "May Allah be Merciful to Moses! Would that he could have been more patient to learn more about his story with Al-Khadir." 

 

 

 

 

 

Prophet's Sleep

Military Expeditions led by the Prophet (pbuh) (Al-Maghaazi)  Bukhari :: Book 5 :: Volume 59 :: Hadith 460 Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:

We took part in the Ghazwa of Najd along with Allah's Apostle and when the time for the afternoon rest approached while he was in a valley with plenty of thorny trees, he dismounted under a tree and rested in its shade and hung his sword (on it). The people dispersed amongst the trees in order to have shade. While we were in this state, Allah's Apostle called us and we came and found a bedouin sitting in front of him. The Prophet said, "This (Bedouin) came to me while I was asleep, and he took my sword stealthily. I woke up while he was standing by my head, holding my sword without its sheath. He said, 'Who will save you from me?' I replied, 'Allah.' So he sheathed it (i.e. the sword) and sat down, and here he is." But Allah's Apostle did not punish him.

*Note:Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam did not knew when the Bedouin too his sword and unsheathed it,he saw the Bedouin when he woke up.

 

When Prophet Gets Inspiration In His Dream His Eyes Sleep But His Heart Never Sleeps

Characteristics of Prayer  Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 12 :: Hadith 818 Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

One night I slept at the house of my aunt Maimuna and the Prophet slept (too). He got up (for prayer) in the last hours of the night and performed a light ablution from a hanging leather skin. ('Amr, the sub-narrator described that the ablution was very light). Then he stood up for prayer and I got up too and performed the ablution in the same way and joined him on his left side. He pulled me to the right and prayed as much as Allah will. Then he lay down and slept and I heard his breath sounds till the Mu'adh-dhin came to him to inform him about the (Fajr) prayer. He left with him for the prayer and prayed without repeating the ablution. (Sufyan the subnarrator said: We said to 'Amr, "Some people say, 'The eyes of the Prophet sleep but his heart never sleeps.' " 'Amr said, "'Ubai bin 'Umar said, 'The dreams of the Prophets are Divine Inspirations. Then he recited, '(O my son), I have seen in dream that I was slaughtering you (offering you in sacrifice).") (37.102)

 

Virtues and Merits of the Prophet (pbuh) and his Companions  Bukhari :: Book 4 :: Volume 56 :: Hadith 770 Narrated Sharik bin 'Abdullah bin Abi Namr:

I heard Anas bin Malik telling us about the night when the Prophet was made to travel from the Ka'ba Mosque. Three persons (i.e. angels) came to the Prophet before he was divinely inspired was an Aspostle), while he was sleeping in Al Masjid-ul-Haram. The first (of the three angels) said, "Which of them is he?" The second said, "He is the best of them." That was all that happened then, and he did not see them till they came at another night and he perceived their presence with his heart, for the eyes of the Prophet were closed when he was asleep, but his heart was not asleep (not unconscious). This is characteristic of all the prophets: Their eyes sleep but their hearts do not sleep. Then Gabriel took charge of the Prophet and ascended along with him to the Heaven.

*Note:Because Prophet Muhammad perceived their presence in his heart his eyes were sleeping but not his heart

 

 

 

 

Seeing Things Clearly Behind HIM

 

"As I see in front of me, so I see things clearly behind me." (Muslim Shareef, vol.2, p. 116)

Book 004, Number 2127:(Sahih Muslim)

Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was 'A'isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi'. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'A'isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you?  She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep, and I did not like to awaken you, fearing that you may be frightened. He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi' (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.

*Note:Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam has knowledge of unseen because..Gabriel alai salaam informed him that Ayesha [may Allah be pleased with him] was present there.

 

 

 

Seeing Allah

Volumn 009, Book 093, Hadith Number 477.Narated By Masruq :

'Aisha said, "If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' (6.103) And if anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen the Unseen, he is a liar, for Allah says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah."

*Note:No one can see Allah subhanawatala through eyes before judgement day.

 

Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam saw Allah through his heart

 Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 725 Narrated byAbdurRahman ibn A'ish
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: I saw my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious in the most beautiful form. He said: What do the Angels in the presence of Allah contend about? I said: Thou art the most aware of it. He then placed his palm between my shoulders and I felt its coldness in my chest and I came to know what was in the Heavens and the Earth. He recited: `Thus did we show Ibrahim the kingdom of the Heavens and the Earth and it was so that he might have certainty.' (6:75)
Darimi reported it in a mursal form and Tirmidhi also reported.

 

The Holy Prophet saw Allah with, his heart.

The Book of Faith (Kitab Al-Iman) Muslim :: Book 1 : Hadith 334

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that he (the Holy Prophet) saw (Allah) with, his heart.

 

 

 

 

 

Prophet Muhammad Knows And Does Not Knows

 

When Prophet Muhamad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam was alive he knew about the deeds of his companions/Sahaba but after his death ,Yet he does not know many things

 

 

"My entire Ummah was presented before me with each individual's scroll of deeds, good as well as bad." (Muslim Shareef, vol. 1, p. 207; Musnad-i-Ahmad; Ibn-e-Maja)

 

the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "One night, my Ummah was presented before me at my Hujrah and I know each of them as clearly as anyone knows his colleague." (Ref: Anba al-Mustafa, p. 19; ref: Tibrani)

 

 

Sayyidina Umar (RA), states "In one Friday sermon, the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) informed us about everything which has happened or will happen from the very beginning of time until the Hereafter when some will inhabit Paradise while the others Hell." (Bukhari Sharif)

 

Ibn Abbas (RA) reports that the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "I know everything which is in the Heavens and the Earth, from the East to the West."(Tirmidhi Sharif)

 

Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))  Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 264

Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet delivered a sermon and said, "You (people) will be gathered before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) bare-footed, naked and uncircumcised." (The Prophet then recited):-- 'As We began the first creation We shall repeat it. (It is) a promise We have undertaken and truly We shall do it.' and added, "The first man who will be dressed on the Day of Resurrection, will be Abraham. Lo! Some men from my followers will be brought and taken towards the left side, whereupon I will say, 'O Lord, (these are) my companions!' It will be said, 'You do not know what new things they introduced (into the religion) after you.' I will then say as the righteous pious slave, Jesus, said, 'I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them...(to His Statement)..and You are the Witness to all things.' (5.117) Then it will be said, '(O Muhammad) These people never stopped to apostate since you left them."

 

Companion Also Got Knowledge Of Unseen

Haaris Ibn La'man and Haarisa bin Na'man have stated, "Once I went to the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam). The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) asked me a question, 'O Haaris in what state did you pass the day?' I replied 'as a true Muslim'. Then the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) asked me the state of my faith.

I replied 'I see the Throne of Allah and the people of Paradise helping each other and the people of Hell lamenting in Hell. I see in front of me Eight Heavens and Seven Hells as clear as idol worshippers see their Idols. I can recognize each individual just like a miller can recognize Wheat from Barley, even who is to go to Paradise and who is to be found in Hell. In front of me people are like fish and ants. Shall I stay silent or continue to speak?'

The Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) told him to stop and say no more. (Fiqah-Al-Akbar)

He said, "I am not made the same as you but my Lord gives me food and drink."Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim

 

Another Hadith Intepreted

Book 001, Number 0406:
It is reported on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that when this verse was revealed:" And warn thy nearest kindred" (and thy group of selected people among them) the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) set off till he climbed Safa' and called loudly: Be on your guard! They said: Who is it calling aloud? they said: Who is it calling aloud? They said: Muhammad. They gathered round him, and he said: O sons of so and so, O sons of so and so, O sons of 'Abd Manaf, O sons of 'Abd al-Muttalib, and they gathered around him. He (the Apostle) said: If I were to inform you that there were horsemen emerging out of the foot of this mountain, would you believe me? They said: We have not experienced any lie from you. He said: Well, I am a warner to you before a severe torment. He (the narrator) said that Abu Lahab then said: Destruction to you! Is it for this you have gathered us? He (the Holy Prophet) then stood up, and this verse was revealed:" Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and he indeed perished" (cxi. 1). A'mash recited this to the end of the Sura.

*Note:By asking "If I were to inform you that there were horsemen emerging out of the foot of this mountain, would you believe me? " Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa salalm was actually asking them whether they trust them with whatever he says or not.He did not say they were coming nor is their any mention of its detail in seerah.He was inviting them to faith after certifying their immense trust in him.

Knowledge Of Unseen Was Passed To His Companions As well

 

The Battle of Badr took place on the 17th of Ramadaan. Before the fighting (Jihad) started, the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) went over the field and disclosed the identity of the enemies of Islam and indicated by placing his hand at different spots and telling "here so and so will be slain." When the battle was over, it was discovered that each and every person about whom the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) had indicated, was found at the very spot lying dead, neither inch more or less. (Muslim Shareef, Kitab al-Jihad, vol. 2)

 

It is reported by Hazrat Anas bin Malik (radi Allahu anhu), who says: "After the decline of the sun (noon) the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) came out of his Hujrah, and led the Zohr Prayer. After completing the prayer the Holy Prophet mounted the pulpit and delivered the sermon about the Day of Judgement and the big events that will take place before the advent of the Day. Then addressing the companions he asked them if any one of them had any question to ask from him. He proceeded, 'I swear in the name of Allah, there is nothing that you would ask me and I will not answer it (no query, whatever its nature shall remain unanswered), so long as I am here.'" Hazrat Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reports that on hearing this the companions burst in tears, (for it forbode the grave tidings of his leaving the world). But the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) continued, saying again and again: "Ask me. Ask me (as none after me will tell you)." (Bukhari Shareef, Kitab al-E'tisaam, vol. 3, p. 855)

 

Muslim narrated from `Amr ibn Akhtab [Abu Zayd] al-Ansari (r) who said: "The Prophet (s) prayed Fajr with us then climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for Zhuhr, then he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the time came for `asr, whereupon he descended and prayed. Then he climbed the pulpit and addressed us until the sun set. He informed us about all that was to happen until the Day of Resurrection. The most knowledgeable of us is he who has memorized the most."Thus narrated by Muslim and Ahmad.

 

Muslim also narrated from Hudhayfa (r) that he said: "The Prophet (s) informed me of all that would happen until the Day of Resurrection and there was nothing of it except I asked him about it, save that I did not ask him what would bring the people of Madina out of Madina." Narrated from Hudhayfa by Muslim and Ahmad with the wording: "until the rising of the Hour." To prevent fitna. Al-Qari said in his commentary of al-Shifa': "to turn to what is more important."

 

Abu Ya`la also narrated with a passable chain from Ibn `Umar (r) who said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: 'This clan (hayy) of the Quraysh shall remain safe until they turn away from their Religion into apostates.' A man stood up saying: `Messenger of Allah! Will I be in Paradise or in Hellfire?' The Prophet answered, 'In Paradise.' Another stood asking the same, whereupon the Prophet answered, 'In Hellfire.' Then [he said], 'Say nothing to me as long as I say nothing to you. Were it not for fear that you would stop burying one another (lawla an la tadafanu) I should certainly tell you about a great number of those who will be in the Fire and you would know who they are. If I am ordered to do it I shall certainly do it!'" Narrated from Ibn `Umar by Abu Ya`la in his Musnad (10:66 #5702) and, as part of a longer narration, by Ibn Abu Hatim in his `Ilal (2:256 #2262)

 

Some Companions Remembered & Some Forgot

Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Hudhayfa (r) who said: "The Prophet (s) stood among us [speaking] for a long time and did not leave out one thing from that time until the rising of the Final Hour except he told us about it. Whoever remembers it remembers it and whoever forgot it forgot it. All those who are present know this. Some of it I might have forgotten, then I see it [happen] and remember it just as someone would remember a man who had been away and then appears before him and he instantly recognizes him."

Narrated from Hudhayfa by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, and Ahmad; and from Abu Sa`id al-Khudri by al-Tirmidhi (hasan sahih) and Ahmad. Al-Bukhari narrated something similar from `Umar.

 

Volume:8. Book:77 Number:601 Narrated Hudhaifa: The Prophet once delivered a speech in front of us wherein he left nothing but mentioned (about) everything that would happen till the Hour. Some of us stored that our minds and some forgot it. (After that speech) I used to see events taking place (which had been referred to in that speech) but I had forgotten them (before their occurrence). Then I would recognize such events as a man recognizes another man who has been absent and then sees and recognizes him. 

 

 

Keys Of The World

At the time of the Battle of Ahzab or the battle of the Trench, the Prophet went down to hit a rock with his pick, whereupon he said: "Bismillah" and shattered one third of the rock. Then he exclaimed: "Allahu akbar! I have been given the keys of Syria. By Allah, verily I can see her red palaces right from where I stand." Then he said: "Bismillah," and shattered another third and exclaimed: "Allahu akbar! I have been given the keys of Persia. By Allah, I can see her cities and her white palace right from where I stand." Then he said: "Bismillah" and shattered the remainder of the rock and exclaimed: "Allahu akbar! I have been given the keys of Yemen. By Allah, I can see the gates of San`a' right from where I stand."

al-Haythami said: "Ahmad (4:303 #18718) narrated it and its chain contain Maymun Abu `Abd Allah. Ibn Hibban declared him trustworthy while a group of others declared him weak. The remainder of its sub-narrators are trustworthy."

 

 

Another version of the above is related from Salman al-Farisi. Ibn Hisham relates it in his Sira through Ibn Ishaq thus:

 

Salman al-Farisi said: "I was digging in one corner of the trench at which time one rock gave me difficulty. Allah's Messenger came near me and saw my difficulty as I was digging. He came down and took the pick from my hands. Then he struck and a great spark flashed under the pick. He struck again and another spark flashed. He struck a third time and a third spark flashed. I said to him: My father and mother (be ransomed) for you, O Messenger of Allah! What is that I saw flashing under the pick as you were striking? He said: Did you see this, O Salman? I said: Yes! He said: The first time, Allah opened Yemen [in the South] for me; the second time, He opened the North (al-Sham) and the West (al-Maghrib) for me; and the third time, he opened the East (al-Mashriq)."11

Ibn Hisham relates it in his Sira (Beirut, dar al-wifaq ed. 3-4: 219) and also Ibn Kathir in al-Bidaya (4:99).

 

 

The above two narrations are confirmed by Abu Hurayra's words related by Ibn Hisham in his Sira directly after the above narration:

 

Ibn Ishaq said: A reliable source narrated to me that Abu Hurayra used to say, when these countries were conquered in the time of `Umar and in the time of `Uthman and after `Uthman: "Conquer what comes within your sight. By the One in Whose hand lies Abu Hurayra's soul, you do not conquer any city nor will you conquer any city until the Day of resurrection except that Allah the Exalted gave Muhammad its keys beforehand."

Ibn Hisham, Sira 3-4:219.

 

A further confirmation of the above is the hadith in Muslim:

The earth was collected together for me so that I was shown its Easts and Wests. And the kingdom of my Community will reach to the extent that it was brought together for me.

 

 

Sayyidina Umar (RA), states "In one Friday sermon, the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) informed us about everything which has happened or will happen from the very beginning of time until the Hereafter when some will inhabit Paradise while the others Hell." (Bukhari Sharif)

 

Ibn Abbas (RA) reports that the Holy Prophet(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "I know everything which is in the Heavens and the Earth, from the East to the West."(Tirmidhi Sharif)

 

The Prophet's "knowledge of all things between the East and the West" is confirmed by the famous narration with a grade of hasan (fair) from al-Bara' ibn `Azib

 

Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))  Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 150 Narrated Ibn Abbas:

The Prophet said, "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) and some people will be driven (by the angels) to the left side (and taken to Hell) whereupon I will say as the pious slave (Jesus) said:-- "And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them...the ALMIGHTY, the All Wise." (5.117-118)

 

 

The Prophet once climbed the mountain of Uhud with Abu Bakr, 'Umar and 'Uthman. The mountain shook with them. The Prophet said (to the mountain), "Be firm, O Uhud! For on you there are no more than a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs." (Narrated by Anas bin Malik .. Sahih Bukhari Volume 5 Number 24)

 

Volume 2, Book 24, Number 501: Narrated 'Aisha: Some of the wives of the Prophet asked him, "Who amongst us will be the first to follow you (i.e. die after you)?" He said, "Whoever has the longest hand." So they started measuring their hands with a stick and Sauda's hand turned out to be the longest. (When Zainab bint Jahsh died first of all in the caliphate of 'Umar), we came to know that the long hand was a symbol of practicing charity, so she was the first to follow the Prophet and she used to love to practice charity. (Sauda died later in the caliphate of Muawiya).

 

  Abu Ya`la also narrated with a sound chain from Anas (r) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (s) came out angry and addressed the people, saying: 'Today you shall not ask me about anything except I shall tell you about it,' and we truly believed that Gibril was with him. Whereupon `Umar said: 'O Messenger of Allah, only recently were we in a time of ignorance. We beg you, do not expose our disgrace! Forgive us, and may Allah forgive you!'" Narrated from Anas by Abu Ya`la in his Musnad (6:360 #3689) and its narrators are those of al-Bukhari and Muslim according to al-Haythami (7:188). A longer version is narrated in the Sahihayn. The phrase "And may Allah forgive you" expresses thanks and good wishes.

 

"and when the people heard about it they were overawed, as if (something tragic) was going to happen" [Muslim]

 

"On this, the Ansar wept violently, and Allah's Apostle kept on saying, "Ask Me! " [Bukhari]

 

"People began to shed tears profusely when they heard this from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said it repeatedly: You ask me" [Muslim]

 

Hadith 6783. (Shahi Muslim):

"Sahl b. Sa'd as-Sa'idi reported: I was in the company of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) that he gave a description of Paradise and then Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) concluded with these words: There would be bounties which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard and no human heart has ever perceived them. He then recited this verse: "They forsake (their) beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and spend out of what we have given them. So no soul knows what refreshment of the eyes is hidden for them: a reward for what they did" (xxxii. 16-17)"

"It has been narrated on the authority of Anas that when(the news of)the advance of Abu Sufyan(at the head of a force) reached him,the Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him)held consultations with his Companions.The narrator said:Abu Bakr spoke(expressing his own views),but he (the Holy Prophet)did not pay heed to him.Then spoke 'Umar(expressing his views,but he (the Holy Prophet)did not pay heed to him (too).Then Sa'd b. 'Ubada stood up and said: Messenger of Allah, you want us (to speak).By God in whose control is my life,if you order us to plunge our horses into the sea,we would do so.If you order us to goad our horses to the most distant place like Bark al-Ghimad,we would do so.The narrator said: Now the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) called upon the people (for the encounter).So they set out and encamped at BADR.(Soon) the water-carriers of the Quraish arrived.Among them was a black slave belonging to Banu al-Hajjaj.The Companions of the Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him) caught him and interrogated him about Abu Sufyan and his companions. He said:I know nothing about Abu Sufyan, but Abu Jahl, Utba, Shaiba and Umayya b. Khalaf are there.When he said this,they beat him.Then he said: All right,I will tell you about Abu Sufyan. They would stop beating him and then ask him(again)about Abu Sufyan.He would again say',I know nothing about Abu Sufyan, but Abu Jahl.'Utba,Shaiba and Umayya b. Khalaf are there.When he said this,they beat him likewise.The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) was standing in prayer.When he saw this he finished his prayer and said:By Allah in Whose control is my life,you beat him when he is telling you the truth,and you let him go when he tells you a lie.The narrator said:Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:This is the place where so and so would be killed. He placed his hand on the earth(saying)here and here;none of none of them fell away from the place which the Messenger of Allah had indicated by placing his hand on the earth."

 

 

 

 

 

Prophet Muhammad Does Not Know

Prophetic Commentary on the Qur'an (Tafseer of the Prophet (pbuh))  Bukhari :: Book 6 :: Volume 60 :: Hadith 150 Narrated Ibn Abbas:

The Prophet said, "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) and some people will be driven (by the angels) to the left side (and taken to Hell) whereupon I will say as the pious slave (Jesus) said:-- "And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them...the ALMIGHTY, the All Wise." (5.117-118)

 

Volume 1, Book 3, Number 121: Narrated Abu Huraira:

I have memorized two kinds of knowledge from Allah's Apostle . I have propagated one of them to you and if I propagated the second, then my pharynx (throat) would be cut (i.e. killed).

Imam Ibn Hajr al Asqalani (rah) in his great Fath al Bari explains this hadith that the second knowledge is knowledge of future events

 

One of the explaination of Abu Huraira (ra) in that particular hadith, was that he was referring to a disaster that was going to hapen to the believers in the year of fitna ,Ali (ra) was killed and during Yazid reign many believers were slaughtered.

 

 Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani (rah) explains the Hadeeth above, as follows:
ref: Fath al-Baari, Kitaab al-Ilm.. Chapter: On Preserving Knowledge

"The Ulema understood/took this type of Ilm (Knowledge), that he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), did not transmit/propagate, as a (meaning) reference to those Ahadeeth that mention/reveal the names of the Ameers (leaders) of evil, their conditions and their era/period..

And Abu Hurayrah (ra) used to point towards some of this (Knowledge) without declaration, fearing for himself - from them, such as his saying: 'I seek refuge with Allah from the head of the sixty, and the Leadership of the Youth' - indicating/pointing towards the Khaleefah of Yazeed Ibn Mu'awiyyah, due to it being the year sixty after Hijrah..

And Allah aza wajall answered the Du'aa of Abu Hurayrah (ra), as he passed away a year before this (occurrence)..

Ibn al-Muneer (rah) said: 'The Baatiniyyah made (used) this Hadeeth as a means to making their falsehood (seem) correct, as they believed that the Shariah has a Dhaahir (apparent meaning/knowledge) and Baatin (hidden/inner/secret meaning/knowledge), and the result of that Baatin is dissolution of the Deen'

He said: 'Abu Hurayrah (ra) intended/meant by his saying "(then my pharynx/throat) would be cut" – meaning: that the People of Injustice would cut his neck/head off if they had heard him criticising/finding faults with their actions,

And what supports this, is that - the written Ahadeeth, if they were from the Ahkaam (rulings), he would not have concealed it, because of what he, Abu Hurayrah (ra), mentioned in the 1st hadeeth (of this chapter in Saheeh al-Bukhari - see below), and (his citation of) the Ayah that condemns (curses) those that conceal knowledge..

And other(s) said: 'It could mean matters relating to the Signs of the Hour, changes in conditions, and fierce battles at the end of time – so then the ones who were not familiar with it, would reject it'.."

The Imaam mentions: If this type of knowledge would have been from the Ahkaam (rulings), then Abu Hurayrah (ra) would NOT have concealed it, due to the following Hadeeth that he also narrated - within the same Chapter: Preserving Knowledge, Kitaab al-Ilm:

Abu Hurayrah (ra) narrated:
"People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet's narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur'an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are:

"Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse.
Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth). These it is toward whom I relent. I am the Relenting, the Merciful."
Qur'an, chapter 2, Al-Baqarah, verse 159-160

And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture). But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah's Apostle contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize."
Saheeh al-Bukhari: Vol 1, Book 3, Hadeeth 118

Additionally, Al-Imaam mentions that the Type of Ilm which Abu Hurayrah (rah) held back, was related to Fitan, Turmoil etc.. In particular, the names of the "Leaders of Evil", their conditions and Era/Period.. This point has also been mentioned in the following Hadeeth..

Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (ra) Narrated:

"I swear by Allah, I do not know whether my companions have forgotten or have pretended to forgot. I swear by Allah that the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) did not omit a leader of a wrong belief (fitnah) -- up to the end of the world -- whose followers reach the number of three hundred and upwards but he mentioned to us his name, his father's name and the name of his tribe."
Sunan Abi Dawud: Book 35, Number 4231

During the course of his discussion, Al-Haafidh proceeds to quote Ibn Al-Muneer (rah) on how the "Baatiniyyah" (mis)used the Hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah (ra) (i.e. Two Kinds of Knowledge) in an attempt to prove their Falsehood as the "Haqq"....

Abdus Salaam Harun states:
"The word Baatiniyyah, referred to as the Baatinites, is derived from the word "Baatin" which means the inside of a thing. The Baatinites are those who claim that the Shariah has a Dhaahir (outer aspect) and a Baatin (inner aspect)"..
al-Mu'jam al-Qaseet, 2/91

Imaam Abu Hamid al-Ghazzali (rah) observes that The Baatiniyyah "were given this name because of their claim that the Literal texts of the Qur'aan and the Ahadeeth have inner meanings which are like the kernel of a nut in relation to its shell"
Fadaaih al-Baatiniyyah, p.11

"They also say that the exterior of the texts delude the ignorant masses into seeing only beautiful pictures which to the intelligent few are mere symbols and signs pointing to hidden realities."

Conclusion - The Knowledge which was NOT revealed (i.e. concealed) is related to the events of the future and Fitan (Trials) – it has NOTHING to do with the Rulings in the Shariah (as it is not permissible to conceal Guidance from one another).. Nor does it relate to any matter which can take us further away from the Hell Fire or bring us closer to Paradise.


 

 

 

 

Fortune-Telling

 

Forture tellers also get knowledge of unseen

 

19:16. And indeed, We have put the big stars in the heaven and We beautified it for the beholders.

17. And We have guarded it (near heaven) from every outcast Shaitân (devil).

18. Except him (devil) that gains hearing by stealing, he is pursued by a clear flaming fire.

 

 

Muslim has narrated, on the authority of one of the wives of the Prophet (saas ) (Hafsah - may Allah be pleased with her), that Allah's Prophet (saas ) said:

"Whoever went to a fortune-teller and asked him about some matter (i.e. of the unseen) and believed him, will have his prayer rejected for forty days."

 

 

Medicine  Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 71 :: Hadith 657 Narrated 'Aisha:

Some people asked Allah's Apostle about the fore-tellers He said. ' They are nothing" They said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true." Allah's Apostle said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it Into the ear of his friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle) The foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies."

 

 

The Book on Salutations and Greetings (Kitab As-Salam)  Muslim :: Book 26 : Hadith 5538

'Abdullah. Ibn 'Abbas reported: A person from the Ansar who was amongst the Companions of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) reported to me: As we were sitting during the night with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), a meteor shot gave a dazzling light. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: What did you say in the pre-Islamic days when there was such a shot (of meteor)? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best (the actual position), but we, however, used to say that that very night a great man had been born and a great man had died, whereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: (These meteors) are shot neither at the death of anyone nor on the birth of anyone. Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, issues Command when He decides to do a thing. Then (the Angels) supporting the Throne sing His glory, then sing the dwellers of heaven who are near to them until this glory of God reaches them who are in the heaven of this world. Then those who are near the supporters of the Throne ask these supporters of the Throne: What your Lord has said? And they accordingly inform them what He says. Then the dwellers of heaven seek information from them until this information reaches the heaven of the world. In this process of transmission (the jinn snatches) what he manages to overhear and he carries it to his friends. And when the Angels see the jinn they attack them with meteors. If they narrate only which they manage to snatch that is correct but they alloy it with lies and make additions to it.

Interpretation of Dreams  Bukhari :: Book 9 :: Volume 87 :: Hadith 116 Narrated 'Ubada bin As-Samit:

The Prophet said, "The (good) dreams of a faithful believer is a part of the forty-six parts of prophetism:'

 

Visions  Malik :: Book 52 : Hadith 52.1.3 Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "All that will be left of prophecy after me are the mubashshirat." They said, "What are the mubashshirat, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The true dream which a man who is salih sees - or which is shown to him - is a forty-sixth part of prophecy."

 

 

 

Magic-Bewitchment Of Prophet Muhammad salla lahu alaihi wa sallam

 

Invocations  Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 75 :: Hadith 400 Narrated 'Aisha:

that Allah's Apostle was affected by magic, so much that he used to think that he had done something which in fact, he did not do, and he invoked his Lord (for a remedy). Then (one day) he said, "O 'Aisha!) Do you know that Allah has advised me as to the problem I consulted Him about?" 'Aisha said, "O Allah's Apostle! What's that?" He said, "Two men came to me and one of them sat at my head and the other at my feet, and one of them asked his companion, 'What is wrong with this man?' The latter replied, 'He is under the effect of magic.' The former asked, 'Who has worked magic on him?' The latter replied, 'Labid bin Al-A'sam.' The former asked, 'With what did he work the magic?' The latter replied, 'With a comb and the hair, which are stuck to the comb, and the skin of pollen of a date-palm tree.' The former asked, 'Where is that?' The latter replied, 'It is in Dharwan.' Dharwan was a well in the dwelling place of the (tribe of) Bani Zuraiq. Allah's Apostle went to that well and returned to 'Aisha, saying, 'By Allah, the water (of the well) was as red as the infusion of Hinna, (1) and the date-palm trees look like the heads of devils.' 'Aisha added, Allah's Apostle came to me and informed me about the well. I asked the Prophet, 'O Allah's Apostle, why didn't you take out the skin of pollen?' He said, 'As for me, Allah has cured me and I hated to draw the attention of the people to such evil (which they might learn and harm others with).' "

 

Narrated Hisham's father: 'Aisha said, "Allah's Apostle was bewitched, so he invoked Allah repeatedly requesting Him to cure him from that magic)." Hisham then narrated the above narration. (See Hadith No. 658, Vol. 7)

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE EVENTS FORETOLD BY THE HOLY PROPHET (MAY PEACE BE UPON HIM) ABOUT THE LAST HOUR

 

[Sahih Muslim: Book 041, Number 6908]

Hudhaifa b. al-Yaman reported: By Allah, I have the best knowledge amongst people about every turmoil which is going to appear in the period intervening me and the Last Hour; and it is not for the fact that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) told me something confidentially pertaining to it and he did not tell anybody else about it, but it is because of the fact that I was present in the assembly in which he had been describing the turmoil. and he especially made a mention of three turmoils which would not spare anything and amongst these there would be turmoils like storms in the hot season. Some of them would be violent and some of them would be comparatively mild. Hudhaifa said: All (who were present) except I have gone (to the next world).

 

 

[Abu Dawud, Kitab al-Fitan Wa al-Malahim, Hadeeth 4231/p. 1178]Hudhaifah b. al-Yaman said:

"I swear by Allah, I do not know whether my companions have forgotten or have pretended to forgot. I swear by Allah that the Apostle of Allah (saw) did not omit a leader of a wrong belief (fitnah)--up to the end of the world—whose followers reach the number of three hundred and upwards but he mentioned to us his name, his father's name and the name of his tribe"

 

 

Book 41. Turmoil and Portents of the Last Hour Hadith 7015. (Shahi Muslim)

"An-Nawwas b. Sam'an reported that Allah's Messenger (May peace be upon him) made a mention of the Dajjal one day in the morning. He sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes described (his turmoil) as very significant and we felt as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him (to the Holy Prophet) in the evening and he read (the signs of fear) in our faces, he said: What is the matter with you? We said: Allah's Messenger, you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning (sometimes describing him) to be insignificant and sometimes very important, until we began to think as if he were present in some (near) part of the cluster of the date-palm trees. Thereupon he said: I harbour fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among on, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf (and safeguard him against his evil). He (Dajjal) would be a young man with twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to 'Abd-ul-'Uzza b. Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii.). He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth). We said: Allah's Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth? He said: For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah's Messenger, would one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year? Thereupon he said: No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer)

We said: Allah's Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then in the evening, their posturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk through the waste, land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a distance which is generally) between the archer and his target. He would then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness) and it would at this very time that Allah would send Christ, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head, there would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it up, beads like pearls would scatter from it

Every non-believer who would smell the odour of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able to see. He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur, and then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tibering and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one hundred dinirs and Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be like those of camels and they would carry them and throw them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of) camels' hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them"

Surah Isra 17 verse 80 Say: "O my Lord! let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honor and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honor; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)."

Transliteration :Wa qur rabbi adkhilni mudkhala sidqiw wa akhrijni mukhraja sidqiw wa-j'al li mil ladunka sulta_nan nasira_(n).

Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 2482 Narrated by AbuHurayrah  (May Allah be pleased with him)
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) used to say, " O Allah, grant me benefit in what Thou hast taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase my knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances. I seek refuge in Allah from the state of those who go to Hell."
Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a tradition whose isnad is gharib.
 
Transliteration:an Abi Hurairah (radiya Allahu anhu) qaal:
qaala Rasul Allah (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam): "Allahumma infa'ni bima 'allamtani, wa allimni maa yanfa'oni wa zidni 'ilman, alhamdulillahi alaa kolli haal, wa a'odtho billahi min haali ahlil naar."
