i found a commons belief between Sunni&Shia in a tale in Bokhari saheeeh which is the most truthfull book in Suni group muslims.
the hadith is rerlated to Wodho...which the rasoul Allah saww ordered to wash the face only3 times not more than it
{ إذا قمتم إلى الصلاة فاغسلوا وجوهكم وأيديكم إلى المرافق وامسحوا برءوسكم وأرجلكم إلى الكعبين }
قال أبو عبد الله وبين النبي صلى الله عليه وآله سلم أن فرض الوضوء مرة مرة وتوضأ أيضا مرتين وثلاثا ولم يزد على ثلاث وكره أهل العلم الإسراف فيه وأن يجاوزوا فعل النبي صلى الله عليه وآله سلم
