یحیی بن قزعہ، ابراہیم بن سعد، زہری، عبیداللہ بن عبد اللہ، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم لوگوں میں خیر کے اعتبار سے سب سے زیادہ سخی تھے اور رمضان میں معمول سے زیادہ سخی ہو جاتے تھے اس لئے کہ رمضان کے مہینے میں جبریل علیہ السلام آپ کے پاس ہر رات میں آتے تھے یہاں تک کہ رمضان کا مہینہ گزر جاتا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ان کے ساتھ قرآن کا دور کرتے چنانچہ جب جبریل علیہ السلام آپ سے ملتے تو آپ خیر کے اعتبار سے ہو اسے بھی زیادہ سخی ہوتے۔

Shaban-ul-Muazzam 19, 1432 A.H

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
The Prophet was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous) particularly in the month of Ramadan because Gabriel used to meet him every night of the month of Ramadan till it elapsed. Allah's Apostle used to recite the Qur'an for him. When Gabriel met him, he used to become more generous than the fast wind in doing good.
