THE HAJJ AND THE ISLAMIC AWAKENING

… (the Hajj) is practically non-existent in the world. Allah says

Allah has rendered the Ka'bah, the sanctified residence of His, (so to speak), in reference to Al Masjid Al Haram qiyaaman li an naas… (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 100)

Which means this should be

… a place that represents a people's position or a people's uprising… (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 100)

Or if you're undefeated

… a people's revolution ... (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 100)

Notice it wasn't said qiyaaman li Al Muslimeen or qiyaaman li Al Mu'mineen. It is supposed to have an effect on people's of the world- all people of the world. To be factual about this, it doesn't have an effect on all peoples of the world; it doesn't even have an effect on the Muslims of the world! And we dare say it doesn't even have an effect on those who go there and just go through the motions of rituals. Of course, there are some instances where there are individuals who feel that they are very satisfied with a climax of emotionalism during the days of the Hajj- but that's the extent of it. The Hajj is being curtailed. What we mean by this is, (one or two people mentioned the number of the Muslims in the world we have is a million or a little over a million or whatever), we think we are approaching two billion, not one-billion, Muslims in the world and it's a sad comment to say that from two-billion Muslims, when the time for Hajj comes only about two-million of them show up! That doesn't correspond with our understanding of the Muslims we come in contact with. There is a will to go to perform the Hajj duty. You will find this almost everywhere Muslims are. If you go to communities that are called "Muslim minorities" or if you go to vastly populated Muslim countries there is much more- what is the ratio here? If you put two-million over two-billion, (to make the math a little easy), you only have one person out of a thousand. If we're wrong mathematically, you can correct us. One out of a thousand. Now the performance of the Hajj does one out of a thousand going to Hajj every year  correspond? You can take your own circle of people that you know- in the circle of people that you know, out of one-thousand Muslims there's only one that wants to go to the Hajj? Who are we fooling? There's something going on here. There's a deliberate effort to see to it that not all Muslims who want to go to the Hajj are going to go to the Hajj and that's what we are stuck with. We think if there was a natural movement towards Makkah every year by those who want to go to Makkah every year, we think, (this is an educated guess), we would have at least twenty to forty million Muslims going to the Hajj every year. The question is: why don't we have twenty to forty million Muslims going to the Hajj every year? Because there are policies, there are procedures, there are laws, there are regulations, there are official obstacles, there are political barriers- all of these are placed between the will to go to the Hajj and the actual performance of the Hajj and that's why we have a reduced or diminishing Hajj. We think everyone knows, (we're not, you know, breaking or divulging any secret), that the official policy of the Government in Arabia, (referred to as Saudi Arabia), says "it has a quota for people to go to the Hajj." A quota?! Where did this come from? These are people who speak about bid'ah. Well, this is a major or one of the monumental bid'ahs you will ever encounter when you want to go to the Hajj. They say- let's take a country that has a population of fifty-million. OK- "they're going to permit according to that quota one out of a thousand to go to the Hajj." So if there's fifty-million they're only going to permit fifty-thousand people to go to the Hajj. Where did this come from? Is there an ayah from the Qur'an? Or a hadith from the Prophet? Where did they get this from? Well- they've been doing this year after year after year and they've been getting away with it. Muslim public opinion has been dumbed down so much that we don't even have a popular voice telling these rulers in Arabia "excuse me- what are you doing? Where did you come up with this policy? Where did this come from?" Brothers and sisters, (you know), we don't know these Rulers personally; we have no personal grudge against them even though they've banned this humble speaker from going to the Umrah and Hajj now for over twenty-five years- we don't have no grudge against any of them, because we don't know any of them, but we know what they're doing and we all should know what they're doing. These people act as if Makkah and Al Madinah belong to them- as if it's their personal property and they permit whoever they want to go to Arabia and perform the Hajj and they prohibit whomever they want from going to Arabia and performing the Hajj. Allah says

When you call people to perform this Hajj they will come to you walking or they will come to you with their physical ability to perform this Hajj and they will come also on meager means…  (Surah Al Hajj verse 27)

So this means that the Hajj is open for everyone. In pre-Islamic times before we had the Qur'an, before we had the Prophet, Makkah was open for everyone. Anyone would go to Makkah. No one would tell anyone else "oh- you can't come to Makkah" or "you can't come to the Haram" or "you can't come to the Ka'bah." That wasn't heard of. This was in the days of Al Jahiliyyah, in the days of ignocracy when there was no Islam, when there was no Wahy, when there was no Prophet- none of this was around- but the traditions of Arabia that could be traced back to Ibrahim and Isma'eel (alaihima as salaam) were honored; but even these traditions nowadays are not honored. Life was such in those times (that) the Arabian pre-Islamic jahilis could not even tell a criminal that you cannot enter the Ka'bah. As a matter of fact, a criminal would go to the Ka'bah to feel secure and no one could touch him as long as he was there. Now, compare that to today's Officialdom in Arabia that doesn't permit committed Muslims to go to the Ka'bah?! Something is foul; something is wrong! Then, when you look this problem in the eye, we have some, (they call themselves), Scholars in Arabia who say, (and actually this particular person is considered high up on the scholarly hierarchy of Arabia), "the way the Hajj is being performed is corrupt." Now, that causes a person to think "wait a minute- maybe we have some Arabian Scholar here who's beginning to think!" But the bombshell follows! He says "in the performance of the Hajj men and women come into contact with each other and so (he tells us) in order for us to exclude any type of hanky-panky stuff in the performance of the Hajj there should be a separation of men and women!?" Now this person has thought of something that the Prophet and the Sahaba (radi Allahu anhum) and the Scholars of fourteen centuries have never thought of before; so what is he saying here? He says "The Ka'bah itself, that Haram area- all of it should be demolished." Actually part of his PHD thesis was on the demolishing this whole Haram area to make the circumambulation of the Ka'bah segregationist between men and women who go to the Hajj. This is the type of Hajj that we have. It's a paralyzed Hajj in however way you look at it. Now, of course, we can't remain on this subject because we were told to speak about, (well the title that was given was), The Arab Awakening or The Islamic Awakening. (But OK- we'll take a few more minutes).

The quality of the Hajj is in its equality. When we go to the Hajj, (we're speaking about men here, the sisters can't go by themselves), we do what Hajar (alayha as salaam) did. Hajar is the wife of Prophet Ibrahim and the mother of Prophet Isma'eel (alayhima as salaam). When we go between As Safa' and Al Marwah we jog, (you know the seven goings to-and-fro between As Safa' and Al Marwah), we do that in commemorating the moments of motherhood, the moments of survival when a mother sees that her child is dying in front of her own eyes and she is desperate- she wants him to live. How many mothers in the world see their own children and their own families expiring in front of their own eyes? We have active areas of poverty, starvation and malnutrition in the world and we're talking about hundreds of millions of individuals who more-or-less are sharing the life of Hajar. This is only one component of the Hajj that we do. So, when we go and if we take our minds with us to the Hajj, (by the way, the way the Rulers of Arabia run Makkah and Al Madinah and the network of Masajid they have all around the world they want you- when you go to Makkah or to a Masjid- to leave your mind outside), if we go to Makkah and Al Madinah with our minds (and) if we are performing these obligations at the different stations in Makkah and if we think (about) "what are we doing here? Why am I running between As Safa' and Al Marwah? What am I doing?" If I begin to ask myself, then I will sooner or later obtain an answer. The answer in that particular situation is "I am doing what Hajar did." So what was Hajar doing? She was going back and forth looking for sustenance, water to give to her expiring infant, to her dying baby. That's what she was doing and that's what we do. It wasn't said with the segregationist mentality among the genders "Oh- only mothers can do that." Because if we wanted to put one and one together and if we wanted to take this person, this Saudi "Scholar" that we just referred to who wants o segregate the Hujjaaj around the Ka'bah then he could carry on like this and say "let only the women- let only the mothers- do this As Safa' and Al Marwah thing. Why should I be doing it as a man/a male?!" Which goes to tell you and me, (if we begin to think), that the Hajj is trying to say to all of us "we are equal in front of Allah." At Al Hajj Al Wada', the Prophet said all of you are the descendants of Adam and Adam is made from dirt- soil and clay. There is no privilege of an Arab over a non-Arab nor for a non-Arab over an Arab; there is no privilege of a white over a black nor for a black over a white except if it be for a conscious guard against the wrath/anger of Allah and doing/the implementation of doing what is right/virtuous/correct. There's no discrimination, there's no segregation, there's no inequality among you regardless of your race- whether you're white or black; regardless of your gender- whether you are male or female; regardless of you language- whether you speak Arabic or you speak another language. You're equal here. Are we to kid ourselves. Of course, we take off the clothes of status- some of us wear suits, some of us wear neck ties, some of us wear whatever attire we may have in our civil lives before we go to Makkah- we take all of that off and we don the ihram- a uniform, the white garb that we put on. So from looking at another person you can't see any status in that other person. He is the human being that you and I are supposed to consider as our brother human being, but what happens when we leave the Hajj? We go back to where we were. We go back to class discrimination, class consciousness, class subjugation! So what were you doing in Hajj?! If the Hajj is supposed to be a place of meanings (and) we're supposed to go to Hajj live these meanings and then take these meanings with us to the countries that we hailed from. But what happens? Do we do that? The Hajj is supposed to have this influence on the societies of the world, but do you feel that there is the meaning of equality that comes out of the Hajj every year? Or people just go back home and then they resume everything and they go back to the mind-set that they were in. The mind-set that factors into life discrimination, disenfranchisement, segregation, prejudice, even hatred. What were you doing in the Hajj?! It's not only the Hajj. Brothers and sisters- we speak about the Hajj because the Hajj is the annual rite that we perform but from Hajj to Hajj there's also the Umrah- the lesser Hajj in which these same meanings are replicated and performed but that's also another issue. These people who run the show in Arabia take the freedom, because we are absent-minded, and tell some people "you can't even come to an Umrah during some times of the year." You can't come to Umrah! Where did that come from?! (You see), it came from back when the British and European Colonialists sent their militaries to Africa and Asia. They, (you have to give it to them- they were thinking, unfortunately they had evil on their mind), were thinking "what turns a Muslim on and what turns a Muslim off? What do they have? What do these people have?" They found two things. After their Orientalists, their Researchers, their people on expeditions in different areas of the Muslims they found "there's two things that Muslims have that if they know what they have, we will not have what we want to have!" They were looking for natural resources, they were looking for cheap labor, they were looking for consumer's markets- they were looking for all of this- and these Muslims have two things that "if we get these two things out of the way we got control of them. The first thing is the Qur'an. Muslims have this Qur'an and this Qur'an is full of meanings of justice, meanings of equality, meanings of sharing the wealth of this world. This is dangerous?! Something has to be done about this Qur'an so that the Muslims are not aware of its meanings. We can't take it away from them, its their Holy Book! We can't physically go into their Masajid and into their homes and take away these Qur'ans, that's impossible." So they went in a very subtle and effective way (and) they took away- they disarmed us from the revolutionary meanings of the Qur'an so that when we read the Qur'an, the Qur'an does not motivate us to seek justice. All of the ayaat in the Qur'an that are supposed to bring justice into human society have been neutralized and we have generations of Muslims who read the Qur'an not knowing that when you combine the meanings of the Qur'an together they are meant to establish social justice. We'll give you a very simple example… I've been working on these words of the Qur'an for many years now. We use two words interchangeably not noticing that there is a very significant difference or a difference between them. The first word is adl which is translated as justice and that, as far as that goes is pretty well done; and there's another word i.e. qist/al qist. If you listen to Muslims speaking, (I only know two languages very well, but I think it's the case in other languages because if it wasn't the case we'd have more vitality in the Muslim realm. When you listen to speakers and they use the word qist, they will define it as justice also. OK- so if qist is justice and adl is justice then why do we have two words speaking about the exact same definition? The fact of the matter is, it's not. Adl is the organic and the raw material of justice- which we say justice; but when you come to qist, qist means social justice, it means collective justice, it means public/ civic justice- that's what qist means. We can spend another half hour speaking about this, but we simply don't have the time for that. The ayah in the Qur'an that sums up our Islamic, Prophetic, Qur'anic character is that we- not only we, but the whole history of this- is meant to have justice done in this world. This is what Prophetic history is about, this is what the Qur'an is about, this is what Al Hajj is about, this is what the Islamic awakening is about- to have justice.

We have send our Emissaries/Messengers with evidence and we have allocated to them divine information/scripture and a criterion so that people are able to function with institutionalized justice. (Surah Al Hadeed verse 25)

So if anyone who's reading the Qur'an or anyone who's performing the rituals or going to the Hajj and Umrah- if at the end of this effort- you are not thinking about accomplishing justice, you're off on a tangent in the wrong direction because all this is meant to bring together the elements of justice so that humanity can enjoy social justice in all its meanings. Justice obviously is the absence of dhulm. We all are Muslim, we know what dhulm means- injustice. The absence of injustice leads to the accumulation of social justice. Now here is where we make our transition to go to the latter part of this.

We are living, (we don't know what the case will be five years or ten years down the road), but in our frame of time now, we are living what is called the Arab or Islamic Awakening. It has erupted in a spontaneous way in two areas- in Egypt and in Tunisia. Before that though, the Islamic awakening began in the geographical area called Iran. This Islamic awakening has been going on now for over three decades, but what makes this juncture very critical and very important is that now there is a mass of people who are out demanding justice. They want justice in their societies. They've had it with Regimes that do not represent them, they've had it with propaganda that is a pack of lies recycled every once and then but not all of these revolts have been created equal. What began firstly in Tunisia and then it went on into Egypt, (in our view of things), was a spontaneous movement of people who wanted to bring down the Government that was representing them and replace it with a more representative for of Government. So in this sense, you had the secular and the commit Muslims, you had the poor and you had the rich, you had the minorities and the majority, etc. etc. Almost all segments of society were out saying "we want the old order to go and we want a new order in." So those two Dictators in Tunis and in Cairo felt the pressure and they could no longer live with this popular movement amplifying day after day against them. So the Tunisian Ruler goes to Arabia, (we can call the place Saudi Arabia, and that's what is meant), and then the Egyptian Pharoah finds himself sick all of a sudden. From time to time there's news reports he suffers from a heart ailment or a mild heart attack or high blood pressure and all of this. We guess his mind is re-tracing all of his oppression of his own people and he can't take it anymore. He's reported to be somewhere on the Red Sea at some resort there and probably taken care of in some sort of way by American and Israeli supervisors. The Egyptian movement of people was a surprise to its enemies and to its friends. We don't think the enemies of Egypt expected this and we don't think the friends of Egypt expected this to happen. Both sides were taken by surprise. The enemies of Egypt, meaning the Egyptian people (i.e.) the Government in the United States of America and the Government of Israel, (as it is called also), are right now in damage control mode. They are trying to steal the will of the people; they are trying to re-channel the sentiments of the people so that the Egyptians will wind up with another Regime that serves Imperialism and Zionism. So far they haven't had it their way. There are indicators that this is a back-and-forth process. The elections, (we are told now), have been postponed now for some time. This was an American priority because the American Administration was saying "if the Egyptians are going to have early elections then there's going to have anti-American elements who are going to have the lion's share of the elections" and they don't want that to happen. So we still are looking at a people's movement that is still in progress. From time-to-time it seems to have stalled because of the military class in Egypt- many of these Officers were sent to bases in Europe and particularly in the United States so they feel this affinity with the United States and it's not easy for them to respond to the demands of their own people. We hope that they can pull out of this, that Egypt will emerge from this as another anchor in the Middle East.

In Tunisia is a more subtle less obvious struggle for power going on currently behind the scenes in preparation for the coming elections that are supposed to take place before the end of the year. What is happening in Yemen and in Jordan is what we call pre-existing agitations. Before Egypt and Tunisia there were people who were out demanding either the downfall of the Regime in San'a, Yemen or a very serious reform Amman, Jordan. This has been going on in the past year with different degrees of fluctuation after Jum'ah prayers on different occasions- this has been the case. Then we get to what we consider more problematic areas i.e. Libya and Syria. This here is not a spontaneous movement of the people even though people in both these countries feel immense pressure, feel non-representative Government and feel that they have been excluded from deciding their future policies- that's how people generally feel. The Zionists and the Imperialists are aware of the grievances of the people so what they are trying to do is move in under/within the general agitation in the whole area to more-or-less replace what they consider to be an anti-Imperialist Government in Libya and what they consider to be an anti-Zionist Government in Syria. Now, without going into some of these details because it gets a little tricky for those of us who don't have the necessary information here, but suffice it to say that much of what is happening in Syria and Libya is meant by the Unites States and by certain Arabian Governments, particularly those in the Arabian Peninsula to protect the Israelis from an up and coming showdown with forces of Islamic self-determination that are centered in the Islamic State in Iran but extend also into Lebanon and Occupied Palestine viz. Hizbullah, HAMAS, Islamic Jihad and Syria seems to be in the calculations of the American Officials in the United States State Department and of the Israeli master elites who by remote control operate the foreign policy machinery in Washington all of whom have convinced themselves and who have been trying in the course of the past, particularly since 9/11 to wean Official Syria away from Islamic Iran. They've given them incentives, they've given them promises, they've given them exchange of intelligence and other things to try and have this Damascus to Tehran and Tehran to Damascus relationship severed. That's the objective there and what they're using is the grievances of the population to do that. Some of us just don't have enough information to see the whole picture and it's a little messy because there are good components on both sides of this issue and there are agents and what you may call self-centered elements on both sides of this issue. So it's not an easy issue to speak about, but let us step back a little and look at it this way… The center of the policies in that area is Israeli occupation of the Palestinian country- the Israelis see that they used to depend on what they call the "states of the periphery." These were Turkey, Iran and Ethiopia. You see, you have to enter into the Israeli mind here for a few minutes. The Israeli mind sees a mass of people around it. This mass of people converges on two levels- on a national level and on a religious level. The majority component of the convergence of these two strata of people around is limited to two words- Arabs and Sunnis. They fear that if this mass of people is going to get its act together one day- politically and militarily- Israel is finished. "Bye-bye Israel!" So they fear something like that in the making. What they did to weaken this body of people was to rely on these periphery states they call Turkey, Iran and Ethiopia. The Israelis saw with their own eyes that the Shah of Iran whom they depended upon significantly- we remember the Washington Post in the year 1976; it ran an editorial that said "the Shah gets what the Shah wants." This is in reference to the military agreements that were in effect between Tehran and Washington DC. So if the Shah wants any type- Phantom planes or Sky Hawk planes- or whatever is the latest generation of weaponry in the American arsenal, he's going to get it. There were exchanges- there were Israelis who were going to Iran, there were also Iranians who were going to Israel. This was a cozy relationship- comfortable and self-serving but Iran broke out of this and this scared the Israelis. They were scared. They've lost one client of their three periphery states. Of course, they tried their best to work through different channels to reverse the process in Iran, and the process has been going in Iran for thirty years strong and getting stronger. Now, what began to happen recently is the Israelis began to watch Turkey slipping out of their sphere and now they're scared even more. Thirty years ago it was Iran, now they're watching Turkey. You'd remember in the past year the tension and the hostility in the relationship between Ankara and Tel Aviv and now what is happening in Egypt is … This "policy of the periphery" was called Ben Gurion's policy. If Ben Gurion now could see what is going on in Iran and Turkey and Egypt, he would be turning in his grave because it's scary. They know if you add population wise… The Nation-States in the area that were carved out by the powers of the inter-war years between World War 1 and World War 2, they know "who thinks about Qatar! What's Qatar? In the final analysis of things what is Qatar?" We don't belittle the people or anything like that, we're looking at this from a power perspective when Israelis are looking at threats coming at them. They dismiss these little Statelets that are there. They look at the big stuff. The big stuff to them is Iran, Turkey and Egypt and all of these areas, like Iran is already on its Islamic way. Turkey is feeling its Islamic way and Egypt right now is beginning to kick to take on an Islamic direction. So they're afraid because if you add the populations of these three countries, you're going to have a population of almost three-hundred million. That's almost like the population United States and if they were all set on liberating Palestine then we will have no longer what is called the Arab-Israeli conflict. It's finished. All it takes is an Islamic leadership in Istanbul and an Islamic leadership in Cairo to join forces with the Islamic leadership in Iran and we have a new future. But this can only be done when we begin to understand who we are. We're not going to understand who we are if we continue to go to the Hajj in a meaningless manner- we just go there and then leave and nothing is being done and nothing has been accomplished. Actually Makkah itself has to be liberated. We know this may … You see, the Prophet spent twenty-three years to liberate Makkah. Some people look at the Sunnah of the Prophet as using the Miswak, (you know, this is the Sunnah of the Prophet); they see the micro-Sunnah but they can't see the macro-Sunnah. The Prophet spent twenty-three years- that is his jihadi Sunnah to finally liberate Makkah but Makkah is back to where it was before the Prophet liberated it and it beckons to those who can see the light of day and who can become the Prophet and the Qur'an in the flesh and the blood to liberate Makkah. Why are we having a meeting like this here? We always say this, and we're not Diplomats so no one is going to crucify us on Diplomatic grounds- why can't we have a meeting like this in Makkah? We can't express ourselves? Aren't we brothers and sisters? Aren't we fraternal Muslims? We can't open our hearts and minds to each other in Makkah?! Something is wrong if I can't tell you "my hand is hurting; I need your help" in the House of Allah in Makkah, where can we tell you say it? Where will it have an effect? Some of us are dying because there's no food and others of us are dying because there's too much food. And we're supposed to be Ummatan Wasata?! The ayah that the brother used

… and in such a way/fashion We have rendered you Ummatan Wasata so that you may bear/be the witness pertaining to the other nations of the world and so that the Messenger may bear witness pertaining to you … (Surah Al Baqarah verse 143)

This is an Ummatan Wasata? Are we in the middle? Are we pivotal? Are we central when ninety per cent of us are in the poverty zone and maybe five or six per cent of us are in the wealth zone? This is Ummatan Wasata?! Something is amiss; something is wrong. If we can't see it we will not be able to move in the right direction and we've had Muslims in Iran who have been moving in the right direction for thirty years. (We're going to end with this), brothers and sisters- if you compare what is happening in what is called the Islamic Awakening in these different areas that we are talking about and see how with all the motivation to have justice done they are still not yet in a position to assume the responsibilities of their own countries. You ask why? (Take a) look at Egypt (as) a primary example. Why hasn't it moved out of Tyranny and Dictatorship and into the light of justice and equality- political, economic, social, etc. Why? Because of leadership. This is an area, as important as it is, that is overlooked by almost all of us. It's important to have this leadership. Al Imam Al Khomeini was the leader and the dedicated Muslims around him became the leadership and they moved the people in Iran in a clear and well defined Islamic direction and they weren't apologetic about it. They weren't playing games and saying "wait a minute- we want to conceal our intents and purposes from the United States. We want the United States to smile at us." No! That's not how liberation goes and you should know that; you've dealt with the Apartheid people here. It takes an effort, it takes a struggle, it takes a sacrifice and once Makkah is liberated and we can express ourselves there as a Muslim fraternity that is responsible for justice in the world- not responsible for justice in a few countries here-and-there; we're responsible for justice in the world. If your Islam doesn't raise your mind and your potential and your enthusiasm to the level of feeling that you are responsible for justice in this world, there's a flaw in your Islam. (We just want to end). Because Eid is coming and we have the two Eids- Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha- and there's something that all of us say in the Eid celebration: Laa Ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu, sadaqa wa'dahu, wa nasara abdahu, wa a'azza jundahu wa hazama al ahzaab wahdahu. Of course there's the Takbeeraat of Allahu Akbar. All Muslims say Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar. How many times do we say it? Do you know what you're saying? If we really meant what we're saying the United States would be, (we don't know if this word is alien to you here- in the US there's a colloquial word), a pip-squeak. That means it would be something like a mosquito or fly- nothing if we really meant Allahu Akbar; but we have people, especially the ones in Arabia, who say Allahu Akbar, they go through the motions, they say the right words but their heart, their policies are contradictory to what they say. They say Allahu Akbar but they mean America is Akbar?! Yeah- this is the schizophrenia that we're living! So we get no where. We just mark time. They don't mean Allahu Akbar. They say it, but they don't mean it! (You see- this is what we are speaking about.) It's good that we have someone who expresses himself because it's out there; it's a disease in our body! We have to purge our body of this disease. Anyways, to go back to Laa Ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu, sadaqa wa'dahu, wa nasara abdahu, wa a'azza jundahu wa hazama al ahzaab wahdahu. What are we saying? There is no Deity, there's no Authority except Allah/only Allah; His pledge is the truth; He has given victory to His subject; He has defeated the confederate forces by Himself; He has given pride to His troops. This is a military statement. On the day of Eid in the Hajj we are expressing a military statement, a revolutionary clause but we are not aware of it. This is where we are. We hope the transformation is in the process and tomorrow is more promising than today.

Wa Salaamu min Allahi alaykum wa Rahmatuhu minhu wa Barakaat

This presentation was delivered by Imam Muhammad Asi on the occasion of the Hajj Seminar on the 24 July 2011 in South Africa. The Imam previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets.
