It is in such a manner that We make plain Our signs so that the course of the
Criminals may become clear.
Bismillah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem.
Alhumdulillah. Peace and blessings on Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wa sallam), his Noble Companions and Family.
Dear brothers and sisters, committed Muslims…
ZIONIST AND IMPERIALIST PLOTS TO SOW DISUNITY PART 2
There are many ayaat that capture our attention in the sequence of events from week-to-week, from month-to-month and from year-to-year. One of those ayaat (is in) Surah Al Anfal number twenty to twenty-two, (the meaning)…
O you who are secure in your commitment to Allah: Obey Allah and His messenger… (Surah Al Anfal verse 20)
There's a, (let's call it), an Anglo-Wahhabi mind out there that should be put on notice because they make a big issue about at tawheed and their understanding of it is rebuked by the wording of this ayah. The ayah says
O you who are secure in your commitment to Allah: Obey Allah and His messenger… (Surah Al Anfal verse 20)
If we were to succumb to this Anglo-Wahhabi mindset in order for us to preserve this pristine tawheed according to them it should have been ati'u Allah wa ati'u Ar Rasulah so (that) the ta'ah of Allah to preserve His unity is divorced from ta'ah of Ar Rasul who's a human being! Obviously, this is not the understanding of tawheed and this is not the wording of the ayah. So they have to come to terms, (in their minds), to the fact that the obedience of Allah and the obedience of His Prophet is one thing- inseparable. Saying that does not mean that Allah has become a human being or the Prophet has become a divinity.
… and don't flee or don't abandon him while you are listening. (Surah Al Anfal verse 20)
If we could only think of what Allah is telling us. The ayah doesn't say wa laa tawallaw anhuma- and don't abandon both of them.
… and don't flee or don't abandon or don't give up on or don't forsake him… (Surah Al Anfal verse 20)
Who is the hu/him here? Pose that question to yourself. This ayah is to Alladheena Aamanu. Who is speaking to Alladheena Aamanu? Who is teaching Alladheena Aamanu? Who is guiding Alladheena Aamanu? It's the Prophet of Allah.
… while you are listening to him. (Surah Al Anfal verse 20)
Once again- this is a slap on the face of the Anglo-Wahhabis.
And don't be of the likes of those who say we hear or we listen but we can't hear or we hear and we can't listen. (Surah Al Anfal verse 21)
Depending on your definition of both words.
The worst creatures as far as Allah is concerned are the deaf, those who are unable to speak, the dumb… (Surah Al Anfal verse 22)
Why?
… they don't have a thinking component to them (or) they don't use their minds. (Surah Al Anfal verse 22)
(It's) as if this ayah is accurately speaking to those who today have monopolised Islam- the Anglo-Wahhabis, (for a lack of a better word). This ayah is in Surah Al Anfal. Surah Al Anfal is a surah of jihad. (If) you read the surah and you will see that the ayah after ayah are talking of jihad- and this is obviously in the context when Muslims are supposed to struggle and sacrifice. Sometimes people take this jihad to mean, (especially with the indoctrination and the propagandisation of the media and the establishments around), you're speaking about "holy war." No-no-no. Flush that out of your mind. No one is speaking about a holy war. We're speaking about jihad which is struggle, which may culminate into ultimate struggle but the generic term of it is struggle. In today's world- we are living in a world that demands a struggle provided that we understand what is happening around us; a struggle that is a mental struggle, that is a physical struggle, that is a social struggle and may eventually culminate and become a military struggle. Let's no skip the stages here. Our adversaries and enemies want us to skip these stages and all of a sudden become terrorists all around the world.
… that's a false statement that comes out of their mouths that amounts to nothing but lies. (Surah Al Kahf verse 5)
The reason, (we meekly), chose this ayah is because we have been working for many jum'ahs on building a strong and a confident understanding of our Islam. You may have noticed in the second of khutbahs we tried to bring in some elements in today's world that could be understood in the context of the first khutbah. In the previous jum'ahs we were speaking about al amr bi al ma'ruf and an nahi an al munkar. We are responsible- this is what distinguishes us. Our responsibility and what goes into responsibility is a thought process. How can something or someone be responsible if they don't think? Many things we take for granted but we don't stop ourselves and give it a thought.
We have presented this Amanah to the heavens and the Earth and the Mountains but they declined to carry it and they trembled at this type of responsibility, but man assumed this responsibility... (Surah Al Ahzaab verse 72)
How can we carry this amanah or this trust that we have if we don't think? And if we don't think how can we become responsible Muslims? Impossible! To give us this trust, two things are taken for granted which we don't think about: our endowment of thought and or capacity of duty.
A fasad has become preponderant on land and the sea… (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
Why?
… the reason for the fasad, the corruption, the decadence, the disintegration, the instability is … (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
The reason for all of this is what?
… what we do... (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
Allah did not say it is because of what you believe.
… it is because of what you do... (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
This is another element that has been taken out of the syllabi and the body of information that are sponsored by such Masajid like the one that is behind us here that we are not permitted to enter.
… so that we may suffer some of the consequences that are part of what we do… (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
We are not suffering the consequences of all that we do because of Allah's rahma.
… if Allah wants to hold me or you or our society responsible for everything that we do, then His punishment will be expedited… (Surah Ar Rum verse 41)
But there's a lag time here and the inference is maybe we can wake up; maybe we can see where we are going wrong and correct our direction and correct our thinking process that is behind what we do either consciously or unconsciously. Some of us are just in the fast lane of life. We do things because it's almost natural to do these things. There's peer pressure, there is the media, people are mesmerised to Hollywood and its imagery and all of this and without then even taking notice of it they become part of that crowd. When we read, understand and communicate with Allah and His Prophet we are supposed to have an immunity from all of this and that immunity does not come without our thoughts.
Many of you who are in this fast lane of life may be unconscious of the fact that forty five years ago this week there was a resounding defeat of those who were for the liberation of Palestine. (It was) almost a historical defeat. Why (people ask)? How can something like that happen? Then you have multiple answers to that. We don't care what any particular individual may have as an answer; but where can we find an answer for this in the Book of Allah and where do we find an answer to something like this in the manual of the Prophet of Allah (so to speak)? You come to some Muslims and you say "oh all Muslims believe that Palestine should be liberated." Ah- this is a statement of truth. Ninety-nine-point-ninety-nine-percent of the Muslims agree that Palestine should be liberated. If that's a point of agreement (and) if that's a point of consensus among all of the Muslims in the world then why hasn't that occurred? Some Muslims of inertia say "oh we need generations and generations to liberate Palestine." Hizbullah liberated Southern Lebanon and it didn't take them generations and generations. If they wanted to sit back and say "look- in order for us to liberate Palestine we are going to need educational systems, we need indoctrinal Masaajid, we need da'wah programs, we need tarbiya seminars, etc." we'll spend all our lifetime and nothing's going to be accomplished! A lesson, (we think), looks us in the face when we realise some Muslims did whatever they could do with whatever wherewithal they had and then they managed to liberate Lebanon from Zionist occupation. It wasn't a matter of a few months or a few years this was a struggle that continued almost two decades until finally Lebanon was liberated. There are many lessons you can draw from this, but one of the many lessons you can draw from this is that they have not been contaminated the Anglo-Wahhabi mindset. They were free of that and they did not give up on the rational component in man. They didn't say "we are going to have to turn off our minds to understand what Allah and His Prophet are telling us." This is a major accomplishment because it's not going to be easy to liberate the Muslims of today from their own traditional, cultural and historical psychology. That's not going to be that easy. We don't even know if the leaders of this liberation effort in Southern Lebanon are aware of the advantage that they carry with them vis-a-vis the other Muslims who are trapped in the Anglo-Saudi mindset; but that definitely is an advantage because no one will come up to them and say "look- you can't liberate Palestine. You can't think about jihad. You can't do any of this." The ayah becomes so accurate in describing the current floating Muslims
The worst type of creatures or two legged creatures, as far as Allah is concerned, are the deaf and the dumb; those who just don't reason. (Surah Al Anfal verse 22)
Something that comes normal to every human being in this world- to think "what am I going to do in life?" Don't you encounter those moments or those days when you say to yourself "what am I going to do?" That natural moment in life due to the Anglo-Saudi-Wahhabi indoctrination doesn't exist?! They don't come out and "say what am I going to do?" Then they are required to look for an answer, they seek that answer from Allah and His Prophet with their God-given minds. They just don't do it?! So if we are trapped inside our own psychology how are we going to liberate our occupied territories? How does that happen? What happened to us? We live in a world in which it is an honorific to have iman without al amal as salih. This is a funny world we live in! People are honoured because of their religiosity but no one looks at what they do (and) what are they all about in life (and) what are their hands involved in?! No one is looking at that part! What is wrong with you? These two go together. How many times have you read this when you read in your prayers to yourselves Alladheena Aamanu wa amal as salihaat? Brothers and sisters- where has it gone? How do we have a religious establishment like an octopus around the world that wants us to feel, (they don't want us to think), they want us to feel that we can be honorific (and) honorary Muslims without al amal as salih?! This is the condition that we are in and this is what we have to over come. A person who withholds saying the truth is a silent Shaytaan. We're not saying this, the Prophet of Allah is saying this and this is a time- the timeframe that we are in, the world affairs around us- all of these cry out for someone to say the truth.
Those who publicise and communicate Allah's messages in awe of Him will not fear anyone besides Him… (Surah Al Ahzaab verse 39)
Where did this fear come from? It seems to be almost a rule in life- when people don't think they begin to fear. If Allah has given you a direction to think in and you know you are in the presence of Allah, where is this fear? How did this fear factor in? Where does it come from?
(Brothers and sisters…)
It is not usual for us to lengthen the second khutbah and to abbreviate the first one but sometimes circumstances have an extenuated character and we are living in times that are meant, (just pay close attention with your open mind), to divide the Muslims. All of a sudden now the media is saturated with the hyphenation of Muslims. We begin to notice an increase in words such as Sunni Muslim, Shi'i Muslim, Alawi Muslim and if this continues we'll have much more hyphenated Muslims so that this information industry out there corroborates the military objectives on the killing fields. Those of you who have been through these khutbahs for all these years know that we've dedicated almost two years, (it could have been a little more or a little less), to specifically going to the roots of the Sunni-Shi'i misunderstandings from their beginning so that we can nib this sectarianism at its source in the bud. But now it rears its ugly head unmistakably everywhere! This is how they want to begin this friction and this fracture within the Muslim public (and) within the Muslim mind. We don't know what their denominations are?! Almost everyone in the world who reads and writes knows the denomination of the certain rulers in certain Muslim countries but even the most intelligent and the most informed do not know the denomination of certain rulers who rule in the hegemonic power structures of the world today- first and foremost, the occupiers of Palestine. Of course, just like everyone knows the ruler in Syria is Alawi… Everyone knows that. Why? Because the information industry has been pouring information down our ears and our senses for months and years now, but who can tell us what denomination the ruler of Israel is? Judaism has three main denominations. Do you know? Have you ever read the Washington Post or tuned in to CNN or to these others and they told you that he is an Orthodox Jew or a Conservative Jew or a Liberal Jew? You never heard that! Why are we presented with being hyphenated Muslims but we don't hear about hyphenated Jews? Has anyone ever asked themselves this question? Obviously there is a major effort now to try to open a Pandora's Box in Syria out of which all the ghosts and all evil spirits of sectarianism shall emerge. They planned on this in Iraq. Brothers and sisters- let us not lose sight of reality. Ten years ago they tried to do the exact same thing in Iraq. They wanted a Sunni-Shi'i civil war to spread like wildfire throughout the rest of the Muslim lands and countries. Iraq suffered tremendously from this Imperialist-Zionist induced sectarianism and from the own faults of Muslims themselves- both Sunnis and Shi'is in Iraq. Haven't we learnt a lesson? Hasn't anyone learnt a lesson? It seems like and wee hope that these same PhDs, heads of state and military commanders are the only ones who have not learnt this lesson. We, Muslims, are made up of different persuasions. It's going to take an open heart and mind to understand that our Islamic history and our Islamic civilisation is made up of different persuasions. This is in the nature of things.
If Allah willed it the human race would have been one Ummah … (Surah Hud verse 118)
This ayah applies to the human race but Allah didn't will it that way. There's going to be differences in our human understanding of almost everything. The question is: are we going to tolerate these differences? Are we going to understand them? We have some sectarians now who feel like if you belong to another denomination in Islam or if you belong to another historical vision in Islam or if you belong to another interpretation of a certain ayah or a certain hadith then you blood shall be shed! That's how some Muslims are beginning to feel as a consequence of this sectarianism in the media, in the educational systems and in even the Masaajid. We have the Masajid now in certain areas (and) in certain places that are festering with this sectarianism. In the land which is supposed to be the land of Islam in Arabia just in the past day or two some scholars came out in public and said, because there's a call there to go for jihad in Syria, (an echo of the past; just like there were calls to go for jihad in Iraq, right now there are echoes, preachers, sermons that jihad now is mandatory on Muslims- they should go to Syria and get involved in this jihad), and so we had other pro-government scholars, (this is their own division inside their own American made house), who said "no. If anyone who goes for jihad to Syria, they would be disobeying wali al amr." They didn't even say the king. They don't even have the frankness to express the title of their own ruler. They said "this would be in contradiction to wali al amr," meaning the king of Saudi Arabia. We ask our own selves, why is it that we are victimising our own selves? Don't we have Muslim hearts (and) Muslims who are as inclusive as to look at our own historical and civilizational character of over one-thousand-and-four-hundred years ago? And yes- if we do have other understandings, if we do have other interpretations, other scholarly opinions all of that together formulates who we are. Instead of fighting among ourselves, we should have meetings among ourselves. You say a Sunni or a Shi'i, an Alawi or a Durze, a this or a that shall be killed?! No- that is not the right thing to do. That's what the hegemonistic Imperialists and Zionists want you to do. What you should be doing is saying "let's see who you are?" In Syria these Alawis are clandestine, they are secretive; some say that they are esoteric. They're not going to argue what they are, (what) they may be (or what) they may not be. First of all it's very harmful to generalise; but whatever the case is something has happened in our own selves that made some of us become secrets to others. Why should that be? Why should people feel in themselves that they can't express who they really are? No! Come on out- please tell us who you are. This is where we should be right now. Let's understand who we are (and) not have this ignorance exploited by common enemies to have us open fire on ourselves and commit massacres to justify them bringing their international military machine to grind and pulverise the population into genocide into breaking up into further miniscule, diminutive nation states. We've had enough of that! Everyone according to this main stream flow of information has to feel a hatred towards the other Muslim not because of what they do?! The rulers in a particular country, (there's many of them out there from Saudi Arabia to Syria), are not ruling with justice- this is where we tell them "you're responsible here." It's not because of their interpretation or misinterpretation of Islam, it's because of what they do. We don't have, yet, the necessary mental tools to bring them to account for their policies. This is what has to be done- they have to be brought into a court of law because of the government they are responsible for, because what they inflict upon their own citizenry. This is equally true of Bahrain as it is of Syria as it is of Saudi Arabia as it is of Egypt or any other place in the world. The issue is the issue of justice. Don't lose sight here. Don't go off on Zionist-Imperialist tangents. As we are never to forget the denominations of our rulers- who knows, (is it common information among everyone), that the ambassador of Bahrain to the United States is a Jewess, a Yahudiyah? Why is everyone so uninformed about that? In all of Bahrain, (in all of the places), there are thirty-six Yahudis in all of the country (and) one of them becomes the ambassador to the United States. There's something going on in that country! In the United States there are millions of Muslims, not one of them are an ambassador- not one! And here you have a little state like that in the sensitive geographical area that it is in and then a Yahudiyah becomes the ambassador of that state to the United States who meets just a couple weeks ago in a conference of European Yahud and "she is proud to say she is among them." At a time when her government is killing the people that she is supposed to be representing, the people she is supposed to belong to, (at least in a civic sense- she can belong to her Jewish faith as much as she wants), but what is this?! Why does not this truth ring bells in the public minds of Muslims all around?! Oh no- we're supposed to think in the sectarian way. Think sectarian and you are right, you are on par with the mainstream presentation of information but when you look for the facts and dig up the truth then you become a discomfort for the way this information is being presented. The wife of right now a prince- the Interior Minister- checks into a hotel in Paris. We don't know how many weeks or months or what the duration of time she spends and she ends up with a bill in the millions of dollars and then she checks out of the hotel without paying the bill. We wonder why doesn't a news item like this make its rounds among the Muslims? Why aren't Muslims aware of this? This is supposed to be the second-in-command of the land of Islam in Arabia! If the current king dies, this guy is going to be the king (and) what does his wife do? She tries to sneak out of the hotel at three-am in the morning without paying a bill that runs into the millions of dollars! We can't hold them accountable for that? We don't care what their belief is- their belief may have generated something like this; we don't know. We're not a divinity to say "her belief made her do what she did" but she has to be judged by the results of what she did, just like her husband, like her kin, like her relatives who rule this land that belongs to the Muslims! Her kingdom in the past few weeks signed agreements to acquire three-hundred new tanks. For what? What do they want to do? They want to begin another war with other innocent Muslims around?! This was with the endorsement of Imperialist forces, (and) probably the endorsement of the Zionists. This is the world we are living in but pity the Muslim mind that is entrapped and trapped in such networks of Masajid around the world that are financed and controlled by the usurpers of the Haramayn, Makkah and Al Madinah.
This khutbah was presented by Imam Muhammad Asi on 8 June 2012 on the sidewalk of Embassy Row in Washington D.C. The Imam previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. This khutbah originates from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige.
