MUSLIM MIND, ABSENCE PART 6

One of the components that is absent from the total mind/consciousness of today's Muslims is that they do not consider themselves having an enemy. This is one of the most serious flaws of today's Muslims even though they read the Qur'an and the Qur'an, Allah and His Prophet are telling them otherwise. This element of animosity/hostility/belligerence that some people here in this world/life express to other people here in this world/life is a fact that cannot be ignored. What we see happening here in our immediate surroundings and what we view unfolding thousands of miles away is a substantiation of this absent fact- absent from the conscious thinking of current Muslims. If we were to listen and understand what Allah says to us, He, in this ayah in the first few pages of Surah Al Baqarah is speaking to the first conscious/rational human creation along with the Iblisi/Shaytaani element. Allah says to Adam/Eve (alaihi as salaam) and Iblis when they seriously erred

… down with you/descend from here/fall out of grace all of you… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 36)

And then, here are the words that are absent from the thinking of today's Muslims. Allah says, these are His words, no human being is interfering with these facts.

… some of you are enemies of others… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 36)

This is what has become very hard for Muslims to accept. Give Muslims their comfortable state of mind/lazy cognisance and they want to believe "oh there's no one around here who doesn't like us. There's no one in the world who has us in the barrel of their guns. No! We are friendly/peaceful/easy going and so is the world- friendly/peaceful/easy going." That's not the case. This is a false state of mind.

… some of you are enemies of others… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 36)

So if this component/element of animosity is part of human life why can't we see it through Allah's guidance/the light that comes to us from Allah? It's not like we are in a wild of imagination; this is the real world- brothers and sisters. So when people decide that they want to become adherents of Allah, (Muslims in other words), then all over sudden you are going to find that there is going to be people out there who are going to show us that they hate us and they are willing to kill us. This has been demonstrated in history, if we only read our Qur'anic history. What did the Pharaoh in Egypt do to a small group of people who were with Musa (alaihi as salaam), just a small community of followers of Allah and His Prophet in Pharoanic Egypt (who were) minding their own business being exploited just like you find minorities/fringe communities in today's societies? Well, that's what happened to them. This power structure would not leave them alone. It's not "oh just forget about them." They turned hostile. They used all their means to begin their killing policies.

… they show you the worst types of torture/agony… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 49)

What were they doing? It's as if this little community of committed Muslims with one of Allah's Prophets was organising some type of insurrectionist activity?! We know that wasn't the case. They were barely surviving. They were slaves in that power structure and here we have that power structure coming down on them and doing what? Now I know some of you are not familiar with the construct of the verbs; Allah doesn't say yadhbahuna abna'ahum they slay your children/boys. He says yu'dhabbihuna which means that policy was a policy in progress. One year goes, the second year comes and the year after and still the policy is in progress. The policy is what?

… kill their newborns… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 49)

What were they doing? What were these newborns doing? What's the guilt/crime of babies? If we just summon our God-given mind it tells us the power structure has information concerning future generations/how history is moving/in what direction it is going; but still we have some Muslims who just don't want to accept this fact even though it is demonstrated in our day/time. Brothers and sisters, committed Muslim- when Allah says to us

Oh you who are committed… (Surah Aal Imran verse 149)

Now who is Allah speaking to? Is there anyone out there who meets/fits in this description? Either we are so we have to listen to Him or we're not! Please, brothers and sisters, define yourselves? If you think you're among Alladheena Aamanu then listen.

… if you obey Alladheena kafaru… (Surah Aal Imran verse 149)

And who is Alladheena kafaru? Are they the pagans of ancient history and they're gone and the ayah is obsolete and we are reading obsolete literature here!? Or are these meanings alive? There are Alladheena kafaru out there somewhere- real people with power/wealth/militaries.

… they will cause you to go into retreat mode and you will not be able to advance/succeed/be victorious. (Surah Aal Imran verse 149)

What do you do with the Muslim mind out there that wants to dodge the definition of Alladheena kafaru? Who are they? Well some people are smart to think "wait a minute Muslims will begin to wake up so instead of these Muslims identifying Alladheena kafaru in their true description let us get them involved/busy mis-defining who Alladheena kafaru are." So we have some Muslims who are loud mouths turning the description of kufr against other Muslims! This is in real life. This is not something that we are theorizing about. These are facts. If there are Alladheena kafaru and they are causing us to be internally defeated so that we can't take any step forward like this ayah says. If you've ever seen a military column that is advancing and then you see it retreating without being able to make progress after that- this is what the ayah means. Then what happens to you?

… you come out of all of this losing/at a loss. (Surah Aal Imran verse 149)

If a person is located in the company of Allah (and is) listening to what Allah is telling him he can't help but remember these ayaat as he sees the condition in what is happening to the Muslims. Some of these Muslims go running to Alladheena kafaru and while they are doing that they are also looking at other Muslims as being kafirs! What a condition?!

Rather it is Allah who is your superior… (Surah Aal Imran verse 150)

What's your superior masters that you have here and there- Washington,/Europe/NATO?! Where did all of that come from? You are not in the company of Allah when you do this! (Take a look at) what they are doing.

… kill their newborns… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 49)

Do we read the Qur'an just in its historical meaning?! It doesn't have a current meaning?! Aren't these power structures busy killing off Islamic generations? (Take a) look at what is happening in Iraq/Palestine/Afghanistan. Don't what you see fit into these Qur'anic meanings? The atrocities are so significant that we have abnormalities. Brothers and sisters- some children now are being born with one eye/without limbs/with transparent bellies. You can see their intestines. Where did this come from? If no one has any hostility towards us where did this come from? Why do they have their militaries in our countries? In the course of the occupation of Palestine one-third of a million Palestinians have been killed in that on-going struggle and this is when we are absent minded concerning Allah. In the past sixty-odd years since the occupation of the Holy Land they've killed 350,000 Palestinians or so and we're not listening to what Allah is telling us. We're just waiting for survival. Imagine the fury of this power structure if we were cognisant of what Allah is telling us?

Brothers and sisters, committed Muslims…

You see/watch with your own eyes day-in-and-day-out, (how long has this has been going on and Muslims are watching), what the media spokesperson for the Shaytaani version of events say. Just to bring to your attention a very simple comparison. Almost a couple of years ago when they were elections in the Islamic order in Iran there was one causality. A lady got shot and then we had the international mouthpieces of Ash Shaytaan Al Akbar go into a frenzy because one lady got shot in a demonstration in a particular country in the Muslim lands. Why did they go into a frenzy? Now we can ask ourselves- we've had almost two years of a breathing space- why did they act like that? This may still be fresh in your memory. Today they are hundreds that are being killed. (Take a) look and you can take your pick- Africa/the Arabian Peninsula; to be more specific look at Yemen/Libya/Bahrain and other countries. Where's the frenzy of the media? Where are these people who say "they are concerned with human rights" Human Rights Watch/Amnesty International these fancy sounding organisations- where are they? That goes to tell you even when we are feeling our way towards Allah… This is where we are. We still haven't opened our minds. There still isn't a Muslim public mind that is open with Allah. That still hasn't happened. … but they feel/sense that we are right now just feeling our way and look how they are responding!  Their media is silent when we die. A silent media but an active military so that we are not reborn! Well the birth has taken place. We will come of age and we will achieve our Islamic self-determination.

This khutbah was presented by Imam Mohammad Al Asi on the occasion of Jum'ah on 01 April 2011 on the sidewalk of Embassy Row in Washington D.C. The Imam previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. This khutbah originates from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige.
