[MahdiUniteMuslims] FW: [Dahuk]: CIMCO conference in Malaysia

Dear All.
Assalamu Alaikum WRWB.
Alhamdulillah I had the opportunity to join in the conference arranged by CIMCO(Consortium of Islamic Medical Colleges) at Putrajaya and Cyberjaya of Malaysia from 07.05.09 to 09.05.09.
CIMCO is the forum of about 20 medical colleges who are trying to disseminate Islamic values in their curriculum. Among other institutions the medical faculty of IIUM Malaysia, King Faisal University, Islamabad Medical College, Peshawar Medical College, Ibn Sina Institute of Medical Sciences Dushanobe Tajikhistan, YARSI University Indonesia, Cyberjaya Medical College are the members of CIMCO.
This conference was sponsored by the Ministry of higher education Malaysia. The minister in charge officially opened the conference. All the deans of Medical faculty ofdifferent public University of Malaysia attended the meeting. Experts from Sudan, Misor, Pakistan, Brunei, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia, Bosnia, South Africa and some other cuntries attended the confeence.

Prof. Hatta Shahrom (Malaysia) presented a paper on 'teaching of professionalism: the islamic dimensions. He also presented the video of his operational relief in Gaza. It was difficult to stop tears after seeing the videos.
Prof. iqbal Khan of Pakistan presented 'CIMCO: current status and future dimensions. He showed the great potentials Muslim world have if we can bring our medical colleges under one umbrella. He also propsed to form similar forum of different Islamic universities round the world.
Prof Arif osman the islamic Input coordinator of iium presented paper on 'experiences in the Islamization of the Medical Curriculum: The Malaysian (IIUM) model
Prof. Ayesha vice dean of Peshawar medical college presented the pakistani model of islamization of medical education.
I presented a paper on 'experiences in the Islamization of the Medical Curriculum: The Bangladeshi initiatives'. In my paper I highlighted the efforts of Bangladeshi pro-Islamic NGO and enterpreniuers in establishing healthcare based organizations and also the efforts of BIIT and Ibn sina Trust.

Prof Jurnalis Uddin Of Indonesia presented a paper on ' Educating Muslim Doctors through PBL; from 7 to 3 jump.
[Jurnalis Uddin is very interested and knowledgeable about Bangladesh (He even gave us the breaking news of our so called leader HM Ershads lastest affairs)]

It was really full of new ideas. let us try to dedicate our lives to materialize these ideas in our Bangladesh.
