The mysterious NINE - 9

The nine times table.

1 x 9 = 09

2 x 9 = 18

3 x 9 = 27

4 x 9 = 36

5 x 9 = 45

6 x 9 = 54

7 x 9 = 63

8 x 9 = 72

9 x 9 = 81

10 x 9 =90

Notice here that the digits of each product sum to 9, for example 1+8=9 or 3+6=9. If you read the first or last number in the product upwards or downwards, you will see that the numbers stands in a numeric order, like 0123456789 or 9876543210 . We will get the same nice results if we continue with higher numbers 12345678...., just kidding!

9 x 11 = 99	9 x 21 = 189
9 x 12 = 108	9 x 22 = 198
9 x 13 = 117	9 x 23 = 207
9 x 14 = 126	9 x 24 = 216
9 x 15 = 135	9 x 25 = 225
9 x 16 = 144	9 x 26 = 234
9 x 17 = 153	9 x 27 = 243
9 x 18 = 162	9 x 28 = 252

If you read the two first numbers inthe product from the top to the bottom you will see that there is something mysterious here .........hmmmm?

There also something strange with the last number, can you see it?

You can divide a number by nine if you can divide the sum of the digits by nine. "The nine test". For example:

3654, wich 3 + 6 + 5 + 4 = 18 where 18 is divisible by nine.

The differens between a number and the sum of the digits to the numbers can always be divided on nine. For example:

834576 - 33 = 834543, where the sum of the digits are 27 which is divisible by nine.

If you take a number and substract the opposite the sum will always be divisible by nine

For example:

842 - 248 = 594

Then take the sum of digits and see that they are divisible by nine, that means that 594 is divisible by nine.

The fun corner: Todays game is ............ ......the telephone game!!!!!

We drop the telephone part and go directly to the point.

Write down your friends telephone number, then mix up the numbers so we get a new number. Substract the smaller from the larger. The result will then always be divisible by nine

For example: 555 3456 - 3455655 = 2097801 wich is divisible with 9.
