Audio on http://www.Islamiccenterdc.com/khutbassermons.htm (30-07-2010) DISINTEGRATION OF KHILAFAH, INTEGRATION OF MONARCHY- PART 2 We will continue to go where no other preachers have gone. We will continue to dig out what has been buried in the several hundred years, (at least), of our history. We will continue to pursue- with the ayaat of Allah and the hadiths of His Prophet- those who have stolen authority/claimed ruler ship and therefore have become the imposed tyrants/despots/dictators over the Muslims of the world. We're going to continue to zero-in on the pertinent ayaat and the relevant ahadith until we can get this issue straight in our minds and settled in our hearts. By any definition, we have official titles of those who are ruling in this regard to Allah's authority and in defiance to His power. One of the titles of these officials, (and we need not bog ourselves down with their definition of their titles), are Kings. Muslims still have Kings and those who want to give legitimacy to these Kings fish in the ayaat of the Qur'an to extract out the word King. The word King itself in the English language is not in the Qur'an. The letters K-I-N-G were not revealed in the Qur'an, yet there is a word in the Qur'an that is translated, (into other languages among them the English language), to mean King and that word is Malik or Al Malik. OK- let us take these ayaat that they selectively choose from the Qur'an and try to apply our God-given mind to figure if their interpretation/definition of Al Malik translates into the current meaning of a King/Monarch. In Surah Al Maa'idah Allah says- and this is one ayah that is rammed into our attention area that has the translated word muluk as Kings. What does this ayah says? It says And remember when Musa said to his people: "My people- bear in mind Allah's favours/bounties to you as He has rendered from among you Prophets and rendered from of you Muluk… (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 20) It doesn't mean Kings/Monarchs as you look it up in Websters/Oxfords. Muluk means, (in a more neutral sense), Potentates/Sovereigns; and (in a more generic sense), it means those who are in charge of the mega affairs of man. The word mielk is minor ownership; the word Mulk is mega ownership. … so Allah has made from the followers of Musa (alaihi as salaam) in their history people who would be in charge of their own affairs… (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 20) That's what it means. It doesn't mean the Monarchs/Kings in their secular/ungodly positions. … and He has given you of what He has not given anyone else of humanity. (Surah Al Maa'idah verse 20) That is one ayah that they use. They say "well if the word Muluk is translated as Kings and Allah has endorsed the concept of Kingship/Kingdom then …"- because of their erroneous translation- "…it is legitimate to have Kings who rule over Muslims" i.e. not by this Qur'anic meaning in context, but by their super imposed secular/interrainical meanings of today's times. Another ayah that they went fishing for in the Qur'an to try to legitimise what is not legitimate (is) in Surah Yusuf. You see the pivotal/key word here: Mulk Yusuf (alaihi as salaam) says: "Oh my Sustainer, you have given/blessed/granted me Al Mulk… (Surah Yusuf verse 101) Now in the minds of the seculars who go to the Qur'an to give legitimacy to an un/anti Islamic rulership, they come to this and say "see what Yusuf said: My Sustainer, you have given me Mulk." What does this mean? Does it mean Monarchy? No. As we said, Mulk, (if we were to return to the sources), means being in-charge of the mega affairs of man. There's nothing wrong with that- it is one of man's responsibilities. To have an organised society you need individuals in positions who will determine the affairs/decisions pertaining to that society. So if we were to cleanse our minds of the intruding translations and return to the original meaning of the word, Yusuf is saying Oh my Sustainer you have blessed me by giving/placing me in a position to be in charge of man's mega affairs, (which is in today's world), statesmanship and You have taught me how to understand the priority meanings. (Surah Yusuf verse 101) Another ayah is in Surah An Naml. Remember- these are the ayaat that the pro-Monarchist types of Muslims run to for cover. The ayah says Of a certainty when Al Muluk enter a social order/society, they corrupt it and they make of its noble people, people who are humiliated- that is the way they operate or that is their social character. (Surah An Naml verse 34) Now being in-charge of man's mega affairs is a neutral position. You can be in-charge of man's mega affairs and be Angelic/Satanic about it. This word Muluka in the first ayah in Surah Al Maa'idah when Allah says Muluk- not to be translated as Kings- has an positive connotation to it because it is located before and after a positive. Before it: Prophets- are positive. After it: He has given/revealed to you/endowed you with what He has not given to any other of the peoples of the world- is a positive. In this ayah in Surah An Naml Bilqis says/quotes a fact that Allah's words have eternalised. This is a negative/destructive description of Muluk i.e. When those who are in charge of the mega affairs of man enter a society they corrupt/cause it to decay/turn it upside down- this is their modus operandi. Muluk the neutral word in this ayah has a description/definition to it that is distasteful/ugly/unwanted. These are the ayaat. We go to the ayaat that they try to give legitimacy to the current Kings/Monarchs who don't have any Qur'anic definition to them. Another ayah in Surah Al Baqarah Have you not considered/seen the person who has argued with Ibrahim concerning his Sustainer…? (Surah Al Baqarah verse 258) OK- he is arguing with Ibrahim (Alaihi as salaam). Why is he arguing with Ibrahim? The reason why this ruler launches into an argument with Ibrahim is … because Allah has given him Al Mulk, (i.e. being in), the position to decide concerning the mega affairs of man... (Surah Al Baqarah verse 258) What does he say? What's this back and forth between Ibrahim and this arrogant ruler? Because he, (Ibrahim), was put in that position of dispensing orders in his, (the arrogant ruler's) domain/dominion. This is a negative description because when the argument is going back-and-forth between Ibrahim and this Malik, Ibrahim says to him "my Sustainer gives life and suspends death"; this Malik says "I give life and I dispense death"… (Surah Al Baqarah verse 258) Don't get caught on the technical definitions of the secular establishments of these people who are running to the ayaat of the Qur'an to try to give legitimacy to today's Kings/Monarchs/Presidents. Stay in the environment and in the meanings of the Qur'an. There is a hadith. Some people say, sometimes, "OK- where are the hadiths?" As we said, we're going to trace/trail the ayaat and the ahadith that pertain to today's rulers who have stolen authority and power. In one incident Abu Dharr (radi Allahu anhu) comes to the Prophet of Allah and he asks him Oh Messenger of Allah what were these suhuf/scripts of Ibrahim? This is one person who wanted to know. The Prophet said all of it was, (in today's language), parables and then the Prophet quotes for him one such parable. Oh you Malik who has been imposed/put to trial and who is executing vanity… An apt description for the negative decision makers pertaining to the mega affairs of man. Remember this is Allah's Prophet speaking and he's speaking/giving an example of what used to be in the suhuf of Ibrahim. Remember Ibrahim also had his encounter with Nimrod the negative King of his time. I didn't send you, (meaning), by the social laws that I have in creation, you didn't make it to where you made it i.e. become the King/Monarch that you are so that you can stack one piece of the world over the other. This is what Kings do. They have all this wealth/power and they gobble it all up in their personal possessions. Allah is saying you are not in that position to do that thing. I put you in the position that you are in so that you will deflect from Me the da'wah of Al Madhlum i.e. the crying out of the person who's experiencing oppression/injustice/offense. This is a very serious statement if you place it in your thinking mind. People who are in the executive positions of the world, (give them whatever secular title they may have- Kings/Presidents/Prince or whatever). Allah is saying they are not put in that position to be piling up their dollars/dinars. No. He did not put them in that position to say "they have these yachts/aeroplanes/instruments of technology" and the rest of these that we hear about and see all over the place. So why do we have these positions? Allah in the suhuf of Ibrahim by the words of Rasulillah is saying the reason they are in that position is so that they can reflect the da'wah of the Al Madhlum from reaching Allah. How many Madhlums do we have in this world? In the billions! Then, the last sentence in this hadith: Allah is saying He will not turn the cry/agony/voice of Al Madhlum down even if it comes from a kafir. This is a very strong statement. Remember, (as we have tried to explain with labour and logic), there's a difference between a kafir and a dhalim. If a dhalim orients his voice towards Allah, Allah is not going to answer him; but a kafir- even a kafir who disagrees with/argues against Allah who is in theory opposed to Allah- but he/she is in a social condition of dhulm, then Allah will listen to what he/she is complaining about. There are further ahadith- because many of these pro-Monarchist Muslims run to the ahadith more than the ayaat. Now brothers and sisters, we're going to quote a few ahadith. We'll try not to be long. These ahadith are not meant to take away our responsibility of ruling, but they are meant to teach how critical/delicate/ominous it is to be in a position to make policies and to take decisions that impact the general public. The Prophet of Allah says you will become very anxious to have a say/power and this you will regret on the day of resurrection. (This is an expression, literally it says), how wonderful it is to be a suckling mother and how terrible it is to wean away your suckling baby. It doesn't mean this literally, in this context it is looking at the ruler and the ruled i.e. those who make decisions and those who are impacted by those decisions. Those who are making decisions are like mothers and those who they are making decisions for are like their babies. The Prophet of Allah is saying how wonderful it is for a ruler to be tending to his flock or citizenry just like a suckling mother is to her infant baby and how awful it is to wean them away/forget about them/have them go their own way. In another hadith that shows us the magnitude of this responsibility- it doesn't mean that we must run away from assuming this responsibility- it means that we should be careful about the people who are put in these positions. What does this mean? Woe to those who have a say/can make decisions in society, woe to those who have accumulated, (what you may call), inside knowledge and woe to those who have been trusted with the power and knowledge that are put together. On the Day of Qiyamah they are going to wish their forelocks, (hair the front of their head), is stuck to the highest stars and they are hanging between heaven and earth and not to have assumed those positions and responsibility of governance in the previous life/this world. In another hadith the Prophet says if you want I'll tell you what being in-charge/responsible for social decisions and policies means? Someone in the crowd raised his voice and said please tell us. He said OK- this position that we have been spending all of this time speaking about in multitudes of khutbahs because everyone who's occupying these positions are dhalims! When you assume these positions like we see the ones who assume it today, the Prophet of Allah describes it in three phases: the first is blame... There's going to be blaming of people in the position of making decisions. … the second phase is regret... There's going to be a feeling of regret in the personality of these people/individuals in these positions. … and the third phase is a torment on the day of resurrection... Then the Prophet of Allah says … except for he who does justice. Then he says how can a person in this position do justice with another person who is related to him/within his inner circle/affiliated with him/belongs to his same party line? Meaning if they are individuals who want to do justice, they run the obstacle of being just to the closest people to them- and that is very difficult. Even though we have a few more hadiths, we will just take one of them. The Prophet of Allah said there's not a person who takes responsibility of ten individuals… This is a miniature position of responsibility. You're in-charge of only ten individuals not millions/tens-of-millions/hundreds-of-millions; only ten. … except that he will come chained on the day of Al Qiyamah. The only thing that's going to unchain him is justice. (Do) you hear that?! The only thing that's going to unchain a person who's only in-charge of ten other individuals is justice … and the only thing that's going to crush him into the fire is going to be injustice. And if he turns out to be evil then the chains are going to multiply. As we said these hadiths are not meant to take away from our responsibilities of pursuing those who are in power (and) who abuse this power and who institutionalise adh dhulm locally and globally. Our eyes should be fixed and fixated on them lest they get away with murder, mayhem and the other crimes against Allah, His Prophet, the committed Muslims and humanity. Brothers and sisters, committed Muslims… In the context of these ayaat and ahadith and being aware of those who have been riding rough-shod over the multitudes of masses and peoples in the world, those who belong to the Jewish/Christian and Islamic faiths should be able to see through these shenanigans that they hide behind. We have had a person who was the Ambassador of the Saudi regime in Washington DC. He was the previous boss of the administration of this Masjid and of course he belongs to the ruling bloodline in Arabia. This person was the one who made the decision that this Islamic Centre will be confiscated and taken over by force. We don't know if the information that we have attained is one-hundred-percent accurate but knowing this previous Ambassador's behaviour, we think there is much credibility to the following. During the last month of Bush's administration, this previous Saudi Ambassador to Washington- Bandar who was the Head of National Security in his kingdom was caught in the airport in Damascus disguised. He didn't present his real passport. (It had) someone else's name/identity. (Can't you) see- brothers and sisters: when we speak about Mulk and Al Imara and we fail to look at those people who are in the position of Mulk and Al Imara, we ourselves suffer the consequences. This person was caught over-a-year-and-a-half ago in the airport trying to smuggle himself into the country with several other individuals. He was eventually identified as he was making his way out of the airport and then he was questioned and they treated him like a Prince because he's a Prince. They didn't kick/fist/physically abuse him like they do with others. They sat him down and said "explain to us what all this is about?" And then he began to sing like a canary. What was he up to? He was trying to bring in finances to trouble-makers who cannot see the larger picture in Syria and Lebanon to get a sectarian war stirred that can link up with the sectarian condition in Iraq and destabilise the whole area for eventually the benefit of the Israeli/Zionist occupiers of the Holy land. So these people in Syria who are asking the questions said "OK- cool your feet/heels here. Stay put." They put him in a place- they didn't throw him into the dungeons like they would with others. This is an Emir and the ruling classes, (at least), know how to treat the other ruling classes- until the rulers in Saudi Arabia began to cry "Uncle- where's the Prince? What happened? He went (and) we don't hear anything from him?" So their Foreign Minister, the son of their previous King- Faisal- who is probably better than the rest goes over there and he wants to know "what's going on?" To make a long story short, he was told what happened and he says "OK, why come to Syria secretly? No one knows you are here. Go back and then come like all officials come so that everyone knows that you have come to Damascus.' He goes back and he speaks to his uncle- King Abdallah- and then they find out that this is a big mess/stink. What are they going to do now? So the King himself- remember his visit to Syria…? Incidentally this week the King was in Syria once again and today he is in Beirut and he's probably going to go to other capitals to do the biddings of his masters in Washington. … he goes to Syria and then he listens to all of this and what he also gets to know is that this same person who was his Ambassador in Washington had contact with thirty Saudi officers who were plotting a coup in Arabia. What we are saying in this khutbah is off limits! No one is supposed to say these things in a khutbah! Why? Because the key terminology- Al Malik/Muluk in the Qur'an have been turned off. In the hadiths of the Prophet- Al Amir/Umarah have been distanced from today's real world. If we have a healthy understanding of what Allah and His Prophet are saying to us we should have a robust approach to what these dhalims/Kings/Dictators are doing to us. (in) one of the confessions he says "there were four intelligence services in Arabian countries that had their hands in the assassination of the Lebanese Prime Minister Al Hariri a few years ago." The after effects that are still in process and may have the potential of a sectarian strife in Lebanon. So what do they do with this person? How do they solve this issue? The Saudi and the Syrian governments became buddy-buddies. They reached a deal. "We'll give you some influence in Lebanon; we will do certain things in Iraq; we'll stop doing certain things" and this trade off going back and forth between Ar Riyadh and Damascus until finally we have what we have today- the big mess in the midst of which we have an absence of our Qur'anic and Prophetic mind and character. So they bring this Prince back and the Saudi big-wigs/elders decide "we shouldn't make a fuss about this. Hush-hush. No one say anything and confine Bandar" who was disavowed by his father in his early life. His father is the current Defense Minister (and) his father now returns and disavows him again- "I don't want to have anything to do with him again." So what did they do? They confined Bandar to a lavish place out of which he cannot leave for the rest of his life. As we said at the beginning, we don't know if all of these details are correct but obviously there is a sense of truth in this news out of the dark Kingdom in Arabia. But what is required of us is to elevate our understanding of the ayaat and the ahadith so that we can see through these liars. Brothers and sisters: twenty-seven years ago this person who is under house arrest, (so to speak), in Arabia was called by Muslims who have an Islamic character/share the same backgrounds that many of us have, (these are their words. We'll say it to you in Arabic and explain it to you in English). These are few words they called Bandar ibn Sultan: "he is the Ambassador of the du'aat and he is the da'ee of the Ambassadors." This is an all time low and put all of the Islamic make-up aside! This khutbah was presented by Imam Muhammed Asi on the occasion of Jum'ah on 30 July 2010 on the sidewalk of Embassy Road in Washington D.C. The Imam previously led the daily and Jum'ah prayers inside the Masjid. His speeches were revolutionary and thought provoking, and eventually irritated and threatened the Middle-East Ambassadors who control the Masjid. Finally, the Imam, his family, and other Muslims faithful to the course of Islam were forced out, into the streets. This khutbah originates from the sidewalk across the street from the Islamic Center, currently under seige. |
