INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJEOON
As we mourn the tragic demise of Sheikh Ghulamhussein Okera, the founder of Ahlulbayt Center (ABC) Arusha, and numerous other Masajid and Husseiniyyahs all around East Africa, it is difficult to enumerate his tabligh activities and charity works.
It is difficult to write about an active Aalim and Muballigh like Marhum Sheikh Ghulamhussein Okera who was a well known figure among the Shias in East Africa. Do we write about him as a pious orator, a concerned muballigh, a teacher or a mentor, or one who worked and promoted charity openly as well as secretly. Do we talk about his humility or his sincerity, his humour or his firmness in discipline, his courage and strength to face difficulties, and his submission to Allah's will in face of tragedies? He was for everyone a loving brother as well as a source of inspiration and guidance at all stages of life. Suffice to say that hundreds of students who trained under his Hawza in Arusha are now engaged in tabligh activities in Africa.
With his demise, we have lost a sincere Muballigh and social worker who will ever be remembered for his humility, charm and engagement with local people in the path of Tabligh and humanitarian work for more than 20 years in Arusha and beyond.

May Allah (swt) rest the soul of Marhum in the proximity of Chahardah Ma'sumin (as) and grant Sabre Jameel to all the family members and Shias in general. Amin.
