Questioner:
Our noble Shaykh: Since you have visited the United States on more than one occasion, and know a number of Americans, especially students of knowledge, what do you advise as it relates to attending the annual summer educational seminar that is organized by Masjid Rahmah in N.J.?
Shaykh Saleh as-Suhaimee (may Allah preserve him):
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Granter of Mercy. All praises belong and are due to Allah, the Lord of all creation. May prayers and salutations be extolled upon our prophet, all of his family and companions.
To proceed.
For years we have known about the blessed efforts of this Masjid, i.e Masjid Rahmah in New Jersey, USA. The brothers in charge of it are very active in propagating a blessed, salafi call and Allah has certainly allowed their Muslim brothers and sisters to benefit from them. Allah has also guided many non-Muslims through their da'wah efforts as well. I strongly encourage people to help and cooperate with them upon good. We believe that all of the brothers who are in charge of the Masjid are upon good, especially those whom we've known very well for over ten years.
I consider them to be virtuous students of knowledge and righteous du'aat who call to Allah with knowledge and insight. The people should benefit from them, for surely, their country is in dire need of their kind. As I have said before, I know many of them personally. From among them is my brother Tahir Wyatt who is currently a PhD candidate in the department of 'Aqeedah at the Islamic University of Madinah. Indeed, I have known him since he was an undergraduate in the College [of Hadeeth] up until this day. Similarly is the case with our brother, Shaykh 'Abdur-Rahman al-Omaisan who is also a PhD candidate in the department of 'Aqeedah at the Islamic University of Madinah. Also, my brother Abu Muhammad, whom I first met in America and then subsequently from his frequent visits to the Kingdom for Hajj and 'Umrah. I have known him for his many blessed efforts in calling to Allah and uniting the people on one statement upon the guidance of the salaf.
I have also known them for showing a great deal of importance to inviting the salafi shaykhs to benefit them, regardless whether they – the mashaayikh - actually visit them in America, or via tele-link. All of this is done upon the correct method, Allah willing. This is what we perceive of them and we don't praise anyone before or above Allah. I deem it wajib that they be cooperated with in their educational seminars and helping them to continue, perhaps Allah will allow benefit to be derived from them. The Messenger of Allah, sallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, says, "For Allah to guide one person because of you is better than the most precious camels."
